About this property

Humble Cabin in Sequoia Park with crazy stars

At the gate of wilderness, the cabin affords a nice view of Sequoia's hallmark Moro Rock, and is ideal for hikers, nature lovers, and small families with young children. Simple and convenient accommodations do not spoil the spirit of Nature, yet provide all the necessities for a comfortable and pleasant stay.
The cabin is located inside the park, just a couple minutes' drive from the South entrance. It is part of a small subdivision of about less than a dozen houses, mostly private vacation properties and family residences. The feel is more local than touristy; buildings are well spaced apart along the mountainside so as not to spoil the view. The cabin living/dining room windows offer stunning views of the surrounding mountain range.
The best swimming spot on Kaweah River is just a few minutes' walk away. A 30 minute drive brings you to the high mountain sierra Sequoia Grove. Crystal Cave and Mineral King are also within driving distance.

The cabin features a full kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, cooking utensils and dining ware, and an outdoor barbecue area with grill, garden dining table and chairs.
The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed. The upstairs loft can sleep up to three children or two adults. The living room futon transforms into a bed for extra sleeping space.

The living room and downstairs bedroom each have a flatscreen TV and DVD player. Currently, satellite TV is NOT available (however, please stay tuned... we are still working on improvements based on customer requests, and will post updates as they are made).

Well located, but unfortunately a bit too humble
The place is well located, just at the entrance of the park, neighbors are super friendly and even helped us out when the power tripped. But the cabin would deserve to be better maintained and cleaned up. We are not picky but we doubt the sheets were cleaned, or had not been used. There was a very strange smell in the bedroom and bathroom. Cleaning was super light in the kitchen and main part. All in all, if you are looking for (very) humble, okay, otherwise, look for another place.

BEWARE: Not cleaned before our arrival
Upon arrival we found the directions were clear, and the place looked decent from the outside. Once we walked inside there were ants on every surface completely covering the dish sponge, and the stove top. The bedroom and bathroom had dirty sheets and towels, and there was trash in all of the trash cans. We had booked this day along time before hand, and driven from Colorado to stay here. Luckily we were able to drive down the canyon a bit and find a different place to stay. However, that place ended up costing twice as much. It took us an hour to find a place where we had cell phone service where I could finally get a hold of the phone number that was given to us by the owner, that person informed me that they don’t work for the owner anymore and they urged me to contact VRBO as soon as possible. I finally reached the owner, who sounded very unfazed and unapologetic, but did offer a full refund. Which was fine, but did not make up for the fact that we lost so much money by having to pay for a place that was more than twice as much. The remote location of this cabin, and of three Rivers, which is the closest town, makes this all the more difficult, there isn’t cell phone service and there are not a lot of options of places to stay a lot of which have no vacancy on any given night and without any kind of service, there’s no way to look up prices I know there are quite a few decent reviews but I wish so badly that I would’ve paid attention to the bad reviews.

Nice quiet cabin in Sequoia Park.
This cabin was great for three night stay for free me and my friend who are riding motorcycles in the park. It's well stocked with everything you need. Has a TV and DVD player with a lot of DVDs. It's in a small neighborhood and is very private and quiet and has a nice view.

Great cabin in Sequoia NP
Nice cabin inside of Sequoia NP. Very relaxing, great place to disconnect as there's no wifi or cell service. Only downside was that the gas stove was not working and I did not have cell service to contact the property manager.

Better Than Expected
Based on some of the earlier reviews, I was a little concerned about my upcoming stay at the cabin. I was imagining a treacherous drive to the property, but it wasn't really bad at all. It was a little steep, so it would not be good in ice or snow. I was also expecting that there might be bugs, but there weren't any. The cabin is literally inside the National Park, so it is a great location. The air conditioners worked great. The setting is beautiful. I agree that just a little maintenance (like new blinds or curtains) would make a big difference in the cabin. Overall, we had a good stay.
