Steps from the world’s largest ponderosa pine forest. Our Mountain Chalet is a two story home with a beautiful wrought iron spiral staircase, open loft, high ceiling great room, with 16ft windows, along with a massive floor to ceiling natural stone fireplace. The cabin is located 20 minutes south of Flagstaff and comfortably sleeps 8 in 3 bedrooms and a sleeping loft. The downstairs has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and flat screen TV connected to satellite/netflix services and the other downstairs bedroom has twin beds. The upstairs has a king bed and TV, plus a separate loft with 2 twin beds.
My friends and I spent a week at this location and had a ball. The house is conveniently located between some pretty spectacular areas. We visited the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Lake Powell as well as many other local areas of interest. The house is nicely appointed and has a full kitchen. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and we look forward to another visit in the near future-- perhaps during a different time of the year. I highly recommend this property!

We spent 4 nights here over the Thanksgiving weekend with our family. The cabin is so cute, cozy and clean. We got there in the evening on Wednesday and were so impressed with the cabin. The three bedrooms were very roomy and the loft was perfect for the kids to sleep and hang out in. We were so happy and surprised to find that the gorgeous fireplace was already set up with wood, newspapers and "fire starters" to start a warm, cozy fire. The kitchen had everything we needed to make and serve our Thanksgiving dinner. My favorite was the large great room with soaring windows and a huge rock fireplace stocked with tons of firewood for hours of sitting and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable, and the quiet surroundings made it the perfect place to get some much needed rest. We spent our days hiking and exploring the area, relaxing by the fire and making smores. The evenings were spent making popcorn (which was provided) and watching movies either DVDs we brought or on Netflix (which was provided). There was even Wifi which was perfect for online black Friday shopping. Overall, this cabin is a great value and one that I would definitely recommend to others.
We really found the location of the Mountain Chalet convenient. We were able to get to Sedona, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon and other National Monuments with ease. The location in Munds Park was also nice, we took walks on trails in a close by park with regularity.
The property was in great shape and comfortable. The owner responded to our questions and requests promptly.
We were unable to sort out Netflix, even with the help of the owner and it took a call upon arrival to get the correct internet code, the information we had received was not current. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook easily. Thank you we enjoyed our time there and would recommend it to friends and family.
What a perfect, comfortable place. All us fit perfectly and slept like we had not slept in a long time! We, including my 4 nieces and nephews, did not watch tv for 4 days! A miracle! We loved the environment with walks, hiking and family time. My nephew and his family had endured a tragic event in his neighborhood. This short retreat was a timely gift from God. Thank you. The only thing we commented on was the use the indoor grill. Even with the flue open, very smoky. Art was so responsive. Thank you!!!
Great cabin with plenty of room, grand fire place with stocked wood, and relaxing patio surrounded by tall pines. Amply stocked with blankets, towels, dishes, appliances, spices, and other supplied consumables that were a nice added touch. No need to bring anything except your food, drinks, and overnight bag. Indoor charcoal grill is a unique feature but requires quite a bit of charcoal to use effectively since you cannot adjust the grate to get closer to the coals- a regular outdoor gas grill would've been a nice backup option. Corner lot at the edge of town is a nice easy to find location and good spot for people watching, although a bit noisy with all of the ATV traffic since it is on the main road. Definitely recommended.
It house was clean and we felt very welcomed when we arrived. The neighborhood was very nice and well maintained. The wrap around porch was a great place to hang out and it gets a nice breeze at night and in the morning. We visited the house over Fathers Day weekend and stayed the week after. There was a little more traffic (ATV's and razors) over the weekend, but it was very quite and peaceful during the week. The house had plenty of room for our family. We had a one year old with us and it was pretty easy to somewhat childproof the area. The only problem we encountered was we traveled to Munds Park during a heat wave. The daily temperatures reaching 95-99 on two days we were there. The house was pretty toasty and didn't cool off at night. We reached out to the owner and he gave us some tips to help with the heat. There is a small window AC in the kitchen but it doesn't cool the house. Luckily it was only bad for about 2 nights. The house is located right outside of the National Forest. It was very easy to walk to and get on the trails. We discovered a lake near by (within walking distance) and we enjoyed going and sitting under the trees on the bench. It was a great place to stay, we would love to go back in the fall or Spring when it is not so hot there. Normal daytime temperatures are in the 80's, we just went during a heat wave. I would recommend this place to others. It was a nice house and was very spacious. The owner was very helpful and responded to our emails very quickly. Thanks for letting us stay in your second home!
Over all the experience was amazing. Had a great time with my family over Christmas. The upstairs bed seemed like it did not fit the box spring, and needed extra support so we placed a piece of wood underneath it which seemed to help. Furniture location in the great room was a bit akward for the tv, but I figured it was probably due to the Christmas tree (which was beautiful). You have wonderful spices to cook with which was nice, and plenty of pans and containers. I bet being there on the deck in the summer time is so nice, I wish we could have utilized it but it was too cold! Maybe we will have to come back during the summer. Fireplace and wood was awesome, kept us very comfortable. Thank you for sharing your second home with us.
