The Neighborhood: One of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods, this nationally recognized historic district includes a 131-acre green space and recreational area, and the residential neighborhoods surrounding it. Victorian-era mansions and small cottages, early 20th-century bungalows and many brick paved sidewalks characterize the neighborhood as well as popular sites such as Zoo Atlanta, the Cyclorama, and the Oakland Cemetery. Not only is Grant Park known for its history, it is also known for its family-friendly environment and simple living attitude. Grant Park has its own charter school and neighborhood association, which strives to promote and strengthen the neighborhood. They also host several fantastic events throughout the year.
Grant Park is Atlanta’s oldest park and the fourth largest in the city. What’s more, it is the heart of the bustling Grant Park community, the stage of one of the city’s oldest fountains, and the entryway to one of the city’s oldest and most popular family attractions, Grant Park Zoo.
From the start, Grant Park has benefitted from the benevolence and wise investments from people like Lemuel P. Grant. Grant, a successful railroad engineer and businessman, donated 100 acres of land for the park in 1882 and is the park’s namesake. The year 1882 is significant because it was the start of a recession in the city as it recovered from the devastation of the Civil War. Despite the economic shift, Grant still saw the value in funding the park, which he did largely with profits from his railroad work.
The park was built, in part, based on a 1903 design by the Olmsted Brothers landscape architectural firm. It featured a lake and boathouse, walking paths and forest, carriage rides, natural springs, various sculptures and a series of landmark fountains. Many of these features are still available today, and some — like the Erskine Memorial Fountain — are in the midst of a resurgence.

The owner spared no expense in making this bungalow as comfortable, functional and aesthetically pleasing as possible for guests. No detail was overlooked. It's location is walking distance to the Atlanta Zoo.
Located right across from Grant Park's Charter School and walking distance to Grant Park coffee and the zoo.
Marianna made our booking and our stay very easy and comfortable. The house is beautifully decorated, very clean and well stocked. Even the neighbors were welcoming! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area. It is close to Grant Park & Zoo Atlanta, walking distance to Grant Park Coffee and a short drive to local restaurants.
I stayed at this house with my family that included 4 adults and 2 children. Overall we had an excellent stay, although I echo the comments that there is only 1 shower in the house as the upstairs is a bath. This makes getting ready a bit of challenge since most adults preferred a shower. The house is comfortable and beautifully but simply decorated. It met most all our needs and was also in a great location for site seeing and visiting different Metro Atlanta destinations. My main criticism here is that the house may not be the best place to stay during very cold weather. During our trip the weather was very cold (in the 20s F and below). We found it difficult to get the house warm enough or figure out how to turn up the heat even. Beds and furniture are comfortable and good quality as are the linens.
The property was in a great location. Overall the property was very accommodating for us other than the bathing setup. The tubs didn't drain well at all.
Only one tub has a shower option and for 6 guests trying get ready for dinner or any outing was less than accommodating. I would think twice before advertising this property as a 6 person property.
With that said other than the showering issues this rental experience Was very good.
This is a charming, very clean home in a great location of Atlanta. We felt very safe in the neighborhood, no issues at all there. Never any problem parking my car right in front of the house. The fenced in back yard was a huge plus since we were traveling with two dogs. The water was very "soft", or something, because I did not have to use conditioner in my hair, and my skin felt very good after a shower.
The kitchen has the basics for cooking, but if you are a "foodie" like me, you will want to pack a few of your own cooking supplies. I prefer to cook with stainless steel, so I brought two of my own pots, a cutting board (I forgot to look if there was one there), a cutting knife (they did have knives, but again if you are picky bring your own), and a strainer (one rental I stayed in did not have a strainer so I learned to always bring one - although this did have one). Things I noticed they did not have - cheese grater, baster, large cookie sheet, larger bowls (for paste or salad), only 4 coffee mugs, and no plastic bowls or cups if you are traveling with kids, so bring your own. That said, the kitchen supplies they do have are in good condition. I appreciated the pantry for storing food and keeping things neat.
The back door has a storm door, but is missing the screen, so that was a bit odd. We would have liked to keep the back door open when letting the dogs out to keep an eye on them, but could not because bugs would fly in due to there being no screen.
Beds were comfortable (both upstairs beds are queen sized). Televisions and wi-fi worked great. Literally walking distance to the zoo. Would be nice to have a phone book available and also some local restaurant recommendations for both in-restaurant eating and take-out. Tried to order pizza delivery one night only to be told it was going to be 1 1/2 hours for delivery! Cooked instead. Only one key was provided (the other you are required to keep in the lock box to prevent a lockout). This could be a problem if you are traveling with a group and going separate ways. Also it is slightly annoying that you need the key to unlock the front door from the inside.
Any complaints mentioned above were minor, and meant to hopefully give valuable feedback to STAY to improve their property. Overall I was extremely pleased and would definitely rent again.
Beautiful home in a great location. The pictures do not do this place justice. It was quiet and cozy and had all the amenities that you need.
My fiancé was planning to go to Atlanta for a concert and I decided to turn it into a weekend getaway for the siblings (4 adults, 2 children)This bungalow came up early on in the search and I fell in love with the photos. It had a enough beds for everyone to have their own, and allowed us to share the common space while being able to maintain a bit of privacy. Arrival was simple, we were emailed everything we needed and the key was where it supposed to be. The moment we opened the doors we were in heaven! I love charm and character in homes and this property had it in spades. My 2 year old couldn't stop running back and forth and laughing at the sound of her footsteps on the hardwood floors (which were amazing, until bedtime and then you realize you can hear every step someone takes outside of the master). The claw tubs were a nice touch, and the feel of the property was great. There were plenty of towels provided (& they were insanely soft, if any of the property management sees this review, feel free to let me know towels those were or watch detergent you use lol) and the bed was great. My toddler, finance and I slept in the downstairs master with no issues. The water is almost instantly hot, pressure it great and we had no issue with running out of hot water. The house was less than a 15 minute drive to the Aquarium (took my daughter and niece), and the 11 amphitheater where the concert was, and the grocery was like 10 minutes away. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are nice and friendly, we had no issue and really really enjoyed the weekend. It was a great get away.
The only reason it gets 4 and not 5 stars is because of the cleanliness. While it wasn't anything worth complaining about, I do feel the place could have a bit cleaner. Mainly things like the walls having smudges and prints on them, floorboards being a bit too dusty and their being left over smoking paraphernalia from the previous guest outback. I am kind of neurotic about these things though, and I did NOT feel it was bad enough to call the property management. Just worth noting.
I would suggest maybe velcro strips & labels for the remotes, my daughter took the downstairs remote upstairs and it took us forever to find it.
I loved this property and would use it again if I had a need for it.
Overall, BOOK IT, you won't regret it!
The house was extremely clean and was the perfect fit for our little vacation. I will definitely be using HomeAway again!
