We are happy to provide you a new yacht from our fleet! Please see our sister property Shook up Shark (property 3558041) for comparable reviews and a 5 star experience!
Enjoy the beautiful sunset and watch Charleston's resident pod of dolphins as you stay on our 2 Bedroom/2 bathroom 40' yacht! Park for free at our fantastic location on the Ashley River and the peninsula of beautiful downtown Charleston, SC. Walk to a Riverdog's baseball game (single-A affiliated with the Yankees), or simply watch the stadium's fireworks from the comfort of the yacht's deck while sipping a cocktail. Cross the street to Crosby's Seafood to pick up some fresh fish and shellfish to throw on the grill for a special meal. We are right around the corner from the Citadel (go Bulldogs!), and minutes away from the shopping and nightlife of King Street. Charleston's southern charm, historic mansions, and world-renowned restaurants will be at your fingertips!
The yacht has a fully equipped kitchen (stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker) along with a gas grill on the back deck overlooking the Ashley River. In addition to the yacht’s grill, you also have access to a full-size propane grill located under a pavilion on the marina’s dock. We supply kitchen necessities, grilling utensils, and a fully stocked spice rack for those who like to cook. There are 4 flat screen TVS with two blu-ray players, and plenty of board games. No fear with children as there is a first class playground in the park adjacent to the boat 200 yards away. The Main Salon has a 40' Samsung Flatscreen if you decide to stay hunkered in for a movie night (the nearest Redbox is about a mile away). Both bedrooms have custom-made memory foam mattresses that feel like a supportive cloud. We also provide amazing down comforters and premium pillows. Take advantage of the boat's central heat and air, or open all the hatches and windows to let the sea breeze flow through. Fresh linens and towels provided. Cable and Wifi included.
We love our yachts and strive to create a wonderful vacation experience for our renters. Please read our sister property’s reviews (Shook up Shark property 3558041) to learn what other renters had to say about their stay. These yachts are part of the Redfin Charters’ Fleet, which also includes a 2015 Blackjack fishing boat. Please ask about fishing and sight-seeing charter options. We would love to share our favorite place in Charleston with you!
First night after checking in I sat with a glass of wine watching the sunset over the water. Really fun vacation. I came with two kids ages 14 and 16. Fabulous to have two cabins and top deck. Plenty of room for everybody. Plenty of TVs (4). Well stocked with basic cooking necessities. We took 4 hour fishing excursion with Joel caught speckled trout, drum and red fish. Joel was very responsive to any concerns. Always available by phone or text. Love love love this trip! So much better than being in cramped hotel. Felt very safe at the marina. Coming back everyday to the boat was such a treat.
The boat is amazing with a million dollar view of the Ashley River. Our kids are already asking when we can go again!
Joel met me promptly when I arrived (I was 20 mins late). He explained everything thoroughly and was available when I had a question or two later. I only wish we had longer to stay!
We had a wonderful weekend stay aboard the dolce vita with our college-aged children. Enjoyed meeting Joel for our tour and instructions. We appreciated the bottle of champagne Joel and his wife left in the fridge as a hospitality gift. As the Fall weather fluctuated that weekend, we can say the ac AND the heat work well in the cabin. We did not attempt to cook during our stay, opting for take-out and restaurants. As a mom, I did pack paper plates, solo cups and napkins (along with our favorite coffee) to lessen galley clean-up. As frequent travelers to Charleston, we felt the location was great. We hope to stay on-board during our next trip to Charleston.
This was the perfect place for two couples who wanted to experience yacht life, and also get to know Charleston. Joel was available by phone the whole time we were there. The yacht was roomy enough for us, the AC worked great, beds very comfy. We could hear the bridge traffic, but with AC running, it was muffled. The back deck was our favorite place- dolphins abounded morning and night. We had a vehicle, but mainly used Lyft, since parking downtown can be tight. We used the free bus several times for downtown. We also walked, but it is about 40 minutes, and it was hot and humid, so- Lyft and free bus. We took the car to see the Angel Tree and to Middleton Plantation. We recommend both. Wanted to do a boat tour with Joel or Captain Brandon since previous reviewers recommended, but we ran out of time. Maybe next time?
NOT near downtown. Evidence of bugs. Tub didn't drain well (water ankle deep) during shower use.
Had only two phone contacts with owner or management - 1 - great assist navigating through Charleston to get to the yacht, 2 - helped in discovering how to use shower diverter - but had no face to face contact with anyone connected with the yacht throughout the stay.
We had hoped to receive restaurant coupons and tour information for the owner or management.
The yacht was awesome and the bottle of wine we requested was a nice token. Otherwise, we were not welcomed, did not feel welcome and felt the only thing that mattered was the near 1K for three nights.
