Villa Tres Delfines is a beachfront villa located on the gorgeous sandy beach of Soliman Bay. Set in spacious, beautifully landscaped tropical gardens, this is the perfect get away with friends or family. Enjoy snorkelling and kayaking in the calm, protected, blue waters of the bay, take in the magnificent views of the Caribbean and the jungle from our roof decks, fly a kite, build a sand castle, walk the perfect crescent shaped beach, watch the pelicans overhead, the iguanas sunning on the rocks, or just relax in one of the hammocks. Nearby are spectacular Mayan ruins, cenotes (watery caves unique to the area), jungle adventures, scuba diving, and fishing, as well as restaurants and shopping in the quaint town of Tulum (about 10 minutes away). The villa includes daily maid service, satelite TV, Internet access, kayaks and an optional chef service.

Soliman Bay is a perfect crescent shaped bay, with a lovely sandy beach, calm protected waters, and fantastic coral reefs for snorkelling. The bay is a secure gated community of private homes, so you will have the beach to yourself.

Villa Tres Delfines has a spacious open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. In the living room is a flat-screen TV, with Sky TV, DVD player and VCR. There is also a music system, plenty of books, guidebooks and games. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, utensils, range/oven, fridge, micro etc.

On the main floor are 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All bedrooms have sliding doors leading out to beachfront palapa patios. Upstairs is a huge master suite with a spacious 180 degree view of the bay. The suite leads out onto a deck with a palapa, outdoor seating area and hammock. Finally on the roof is an observation deck with a 360 degree view of ocean, beach, mangroves and the sunset.

Daily housekeeping is included in the rental. Optional chef service is available. Olivia (the cook) prepares delicious Mexican, Guatemalan and American food.

Two kayaks are provided with paddles and life jackets, including youth sizes. You can kayak out to protected reefs in the bay for great snorkelling, or snorkel from the beach. For the kids we also have sand toys, buckets and shovels.

Our resident iguana Spiky is usually sunning himself above the waterfall cascading into the pool. In the gardens nearby is an aviary. Our kids love to feed the birds.

Great House

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful vacation here. The house is right on the beach and ideally located 15 minutes from Tulum. We loved using the kayak's and found the best snorkeling in front of the house. My son and I saw a turtle which was a highlight for both of us. The staff are all great. Arul was helpful and available. The house is easily big enough for two families. My boys loved the hammocks during the day and looking at the stars on the roof at night.

We've rented a number of houses in different warm climates and this was the best one we've rented. Would definitely go back.

Amazing! Can't say enough good things!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have been to Central America on many occasions. Aside from one time in a Costa Rican guesthouse off the beaten path, we often find ourselves in the mega resorts. Never again! When I first saw this place on AirBnB I didn't think it was real. After actually spending the entire week there...I still can't believe it was real. The pictures do not do it justice. It is absolutely amazing!

1. The villa sits on a private bay lined with villas. You have a perfect amount of beach front and not on top of your neighbors (the plot next door is empty and just vegetation). The area is safe. The bay is protected by a barrier reef so the water is calm compared to Tulum. It is beautiful and secluded.

2. The staff (Christobal and Bere..who was subbing for Olivia) was amazing. They kept the place spotless and were not intrusive at all! We loved having them around. Bere's cooking was unreal. We took advantage of it all but 2 nights...also first time in Central America not getting sick from the food. Unbelievable perk! They don't speak fluent English but it's very easy to communicate with them. No need to speak Spanish..

3. You have everything right outside your front or backdoor. A pool perfect for a dip or just hanging out. A perfect beach for sun bathing, reading, paddle ball, hanging out, etc. Amazing water. Snorkeling around reefs that sit a hundred yards away from your beach (get there via the 3 2 person kayaks Arul provides). We went to Tulum one time and decided never to leave the house again.

4. You are 10 - 15 minutes from Tulum and a large modern grocery store (think mini-Walmart). There is no need to speak Spanish there. Navigating the grocery store is a piece of cake and has everything...super cheap too!

5. Arul is a great host. He provides tons of information and is very quick to answer questions. I was very impressed. For example, our arrival was delayed, but Arul made sure food was ready for us as we arrived. Incredible.

I really just can't say enough about this place. We hope to go back many times in the future. I think I may be the first AirBnB review. For more reviews look up Tres Delfines or Arul on Home Away.

Paradise Found

  • 5 of 5

Four of us stayed for 5 days recently. The house was perfect! Bernice ensured that the home was tidy every day, shopped for us, and cooked 3 dinners and a couple of breakfasts. We enjoyed every one and our lack of Spanish (and her lack of English) was never an issue - google translate worked just fine! The beach is gorgeous and Cristobal rakes it every single morning. It's a ride from the Cancun airport, so be prepared for that. You do need a car. We ate out a couple of times, both local restaurants, both great and inexpensive by US standards. Be forewarned that it does take a long time for the water temp in the showers to change from cold to warm. I cannot wait to return!

The perfect place to stay on Soliman Bay

  • 5 of 5

We just finished up a fantastic week at Villa Tres Delfines. Everything was great: the views from the roof deck, the wonderful porch, the cool pool, the well-equipped kitchen and especially the very nice caretakers, Cristobal and Olivia. There was plenty of room for four couples traveling together. Upkeep and cleanliness were good as well. We had enough room for a dinner for 12 when our friends staying down the beach joined us. Olivia and her niece cooked one dinner and one breakfast for us and both were delicious. We also had Daveed Placencia of and prepare 2 dinners for us. He has done this for us on Soliman Bay in the past and he is awesome. Chamico's down the beach is a super place for ceviche or fried fresh fish, open for lunch only until around 5 p.m. You might also try the restaurant at the Jashita Inn at the other end of the beach. It is a little pricey but the fresh pasta and Italian leaning menu are very good. If you rent a car, you can drive into Tulum for take-out from El Pollo Branco. This place, their grilled chickens and the guys that run it are so awesome we went there twice. Very highly recommended, don't miss it.

The ladies received massages from Lucia one morning, who they liked her a lot. She was recommended in the TD info book and by our friends down the beach. She is Italian and speaks several languages, I guess.

Two of us went scuba diving with Akumal Dive Center (not to be confused with Akumal Dive Shop). Mario was super and so were the dives. You can do two dives from 50 to 60 minutes each for under $80. They use smaller boats which keeps the groups small.

I highly recommend this villa for families and couples traveling together. Oh, and the owner, Arul, is easy to work with and attentive.

Thank you, Arul!

THE place to stay! Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay in Soliman Bay. We've researched A LOT, and of all the bays in the area, we believe Soliman Bay is the best in terms of beach quality and solitude. Though there are some rocky parts, there seem to be far less than the other bays. Also, the houses in Soliman Bay seem to all have vegetation around their beachside area, which helps provide shade as well as atmosphere. As far as Tres Delfines, it absolutely exceeded our expectations. The property is on the southern end of the bay, which seems to offer even more seclusion. There is an empty lot to one side of the property and a high end property on the other. Our experience at Tres Delfines was exactly what we hoped for, start to finish. Cristobal and Bere met us at the house, quickly followed by Moises, the property manager, who speaks English. We were impressed with the welcome. The morning after we arrived, the owner called to check on us. Everything about the property is lovely. The floor plan worked very well for our family of six, including two grandparents and two school age children. We didn't use the front bedroom that is closest to the beach, but I think it may have the best views of all. Everything worked fine during our stay, including Wifi and A/C. Upon arrival, I was slightly surprised that the pool is on the back side of the house (non beach side) and was annoyed with myself that I hadn't realized that. I came to quickly realize the benefits of that: unobstructed views of the beach from the outside living area as well as inside the house, i.e., everything is closer to the beach because you don't have a pool in between. Secondly, with the morning sun so strong, we could put the kids in the pool in the back without having to deal with sunscreen and enjoy our coffee as they got right to playing. We had Bere make all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for Monday night through Saturday morning when we left. This was a huge treat in many respects. Bere is an incredible cook and extremely flexible and accomodating. We met with her to make menu choices and she (with help from Cristobal) made two shopping trips. We tipped her well for her cooking and cleaning services, as she worked very hard to make our stay wonderful. Because we had her make so many meals, she was in the house from about 7am to 7pm, though in and out some, but we loved having her around. From our understanding, she is new to the property and I hope future guests get to experience her.

Our new home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a better time at Tres Delfines. The home and property is everything it is advertised to be. Setting up the rental could not have been easier, due to Arul's speedy email responses and packets of arrival information. This was our first time staying in Solimon Bay, but last year we rented a property in Tankah Bay. We chose to rent a car this year since we were further away from the Manati Divers dive shop in Tankah Bay. We dive with Miguel, who can take you to any dive site you request in the area. The cenote dives were the highlight of that experience.

The road getting in and out of Solimon Bay is gravel and filled with pot holes, but it adds to the rustic and uncommercialized setting. Upon arrival, Cristobal greeted us to help us with our bags. He made sure we were set up in the house before continuing with his other tasks. There was a nice size welcome basket of food upon our arrival, so if you can't get groceries on the day of your arrival you won't go hungry. Our housekeeper Silvia took care of the inside of the house everyday. We hired her to cook for 4 of our 7 nights. It was fun taking her to the grocery store and markets to collect all of the ingredients for the week. We set the menu on the first day, then eventually came up with a plan of which days to have her stay and cook dinner. Silvia (and Crostibal) do not speak English, so be prepared with a translator app or dust off your high school Spanish. If she stays to cook for you, then understand that she is inside the house from her morning arrival time until the end of dinner. We welcomed her presence and enjoyed practicing our Spanish throughout the day.

We loved the pool and waterfall, we even brought floaties to lounge on. Having the kayaks was fantastic. Head out to the white buoy, hop out and snorkel back to the house. The closer you are to the buoy the better snorkeling you will see. Make sure to bring your water shoes to enter the water, as its rocky at the entry points. We spent the majority of the afternoons drinking rum punch and claiming a hammock. The many outside seating areas was the main reason we chose this property. The styling inside the house is not the best, but it adds character to the visit.

We can not wait to come back to this property!! Thank you so much Arul!
