Relaxing custom built waterfront cottage. Beautiful lake views from every room. 282 feet of water frontage and end of the road privacy. Faces west for all day sun and sunsets. Sandy shallow section in water for little ones, dock for your boat. There's a marina on the lake where you can rent boats or have a bite to eat. Small general store in town for last minute provisions. Enjoy the serenity on this quiet, pretty lake.
Highland Lake is 7 miles long. It is a perfect lake to relax and unwind on this peaceful lake. On any given day you will see kayakers, canoers and paddleboarders. Not to mention the fisherman young and old catching large and small mouth bass!
If you would like to explore the area, the town of Hancock and Peterborugh are 20-25 minutes away. Mt. Monadnock is less than a half hour away and the best blueberry picking can be found at Pitcher Mountain, within 10 minutes.
A beautiful house with open floor plan, bamboo floors, granite counter tops, stainless appliances.
There is a master bedroom with a queen bed and another bedroom with two twins.
Weekly or Monthly Rentals welcome.
My husband has been coming to Highland Lake for over 40 years. He loves the peace and serenity of the lake. Not to mention the fishing and the sounds of the Loons at night.
Jaimee Healy purchased this house in 2014
We had a lovely vacation at this home mid July, 2016. Very private, well equipped. Neighbors across the lake put on an unexpected but nice firework show twice during the week we stayed. We brought our own boat and would suggest launching at the public launch on Route 123 - was a bit busy at the Marina the day we arrived. It was very quiet, relaxing sitting in yard, dock or deck reading, resting, watching boaters, loons and ducks passing by. One day took ride to Peterborough which has small shops and the Peterboro Basket Factory. Hope to return next year.
Had an awesome time, the place was awesome as was the weather and fishing, would love to go back. Grew up every weekend as a kid at my grandparents cabin in the 60s and 70s on Highland Lake. Everyone we met was as nice as can be.
Love, love, LOVE this place! Owner is super-nice and accommodating. Location is perfect; secluded, lake front, with cute little marina just down the street. We stayed for Labor Day weekend, and the owner was kind enough to let us tailor check in and out times to maximize our vacation! We would definitely stay here again! :)
This was a relaxing spot on a picturesque NH lake. The house is gorgeous - there is plenty of space. The house is very well furnished and the owners did a great job keeping their personal belongings away so it made the house feel like it was ours for the week. Our favorite part was the dock which went 10-15 feet out into the lake. The house is situated on the east side of the lake so our favorite activity for the week was catching the sunset on the dock every night. Jaimee was very easy to work with - she communicated quickly and effectively. The house is very remote - but there is a marina not far down the road and Hillsborough is only about 20 min away. There is no cell service at the house but that's not the fault of the owners, obviously. We were able to make phone calls through our computer and the wireless signal at the house was very strong. Our stay at this house was wonderful and we would recommend it to anyone.
This home exceeded our expectations in every possible way! The house is immaculate, with all new floors/windows/bedding/area rugs. It comes with satellite TV, WiFi, and a state- of- the- art kitchen, all located on a lovely secluded lakefront yard! The ONLY drawback, ( and it is pretty minor in my book), is that the depth of the lake immediately abutting the property does not get more than 3-4 feet deep, with a LOT of lily pads/vegetation. The owner is super nice, and prompt in reply to questions about the property. I would highly recommend this gem, ( although part of me wants to keep it to myself!) The marina is about 1/2 mile down the road, and has a cute little restaurant where you can eat dockside. The food is pretty good, (especially breakfast!), the service is great, (maybe a little slow, but the waitresses are are very nice, and we're on vacation time, so who cares?!), and the view is spectacular!
Stoddard is very close to two quaint towns: The town of Hancock NH, which is home to the Hancock Inn, The Harris Center for hiking, and a Saturday Farmers Market. Peterborough is a short distance and has many restuarants, the Peterborough Players, a theater company and lots of shopping. Lastly Mt. Monadnock is about a half hour away if you want to get your heart rate up with a hike.
