Studio Apartment under Hollywood Sign, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)
About Juliette King
Family of 5. (presently 3 of us here in Los Angeles, two away at college). Our occupations in the film industry brought us to Los Angeles 29 years ago ( from UK and from NYC). Family lifestyle is casual. We love our neighborhood, movies, other forms of art and all that is local.
Juliette King purchased this Studio in 1992
Why Juliette King chose Hollywoodland
This studio was built over our garage with long-term guests in mind, our own family and friends. We wanted it comfortable, efficient and personal. We love our location and wanted to create an extension of our home that was completely private.
What makes this Studio unique
This hood is best! The quiet, the aromatic canyon brush, the sounds of the birds are all sublime. Yet, it is so close to all you could want to experience the city. Tourist attractions are close by and Hollywood boasts all types of cuisine, not only the fancy and the trendy restaurants but the real-deal local food: thai, armenian, indian, central american, you name it; it's here. Especially exciting is the resurgence of unique shops and walkable communities in and around Hollywood. And of course there is always a beautiful stroll down the canyon roads or on the trails high above the city right at the doorstep. Farmer's markets abound (nearly every day of the week within 10 minutes) and plenty of unique entertainment so close to home. If that isn't enough, the metro station and bus hub is 5 minutes down the hill and makes exciting new downtown life accessible.

I live in this neighborhood so I’m biased but this rental is exquisite! Brilliant strokes on a thoughtful reno and a wonderful personal touch. I had stopped for some fruit, a bottle of wine and a chocolate bar on my way up the hill. When I walked in the door there was a bottle of wine, the same chocolate bar! and a couple of peaches welcoming me. Kismet and flow. :) Many thanks Juliette; I’ll be back when my own reno happens soon.
Clean, quiet studio
Exactly as described, very close to the hollywood sign. Very courteous and accommodating owner. Comfortable stay.
Spacious, well-appointed studio - reasonable price, responsive owner
It's a great find for the price. Studio is airy, spacious but well-equipped. Bed is comfortable. Juliette is very thoughtful and communicates with detailed info about check-in. Responds to questions quickly and thoroughly. Neighborhood is interesting and fun to explore. It's a bit out of the way, but great spot for getaway with wonderful views of LA and lots of walking trails.
This studio flat was packed with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Loved the mid century decor but most of all the cleanliness and easy access to a private entrance.
Very well located nice place to stay in
What a great place to stay for vacation !!
Could not of been a better location, place was super clean and owners Juliette+David were awesome hosts.Stayed for 10 nights and will be coming back on next trip to Los Angeles. Hiked up to Hollywood sign from house.
The most obvious tourist attraction close at hand is the Hollywood Sign. Hike takes about 45 min to 1 hour (with short stops to take in the view) with return trip usually quicker (walking down hill!). The climb is only steep at the start of trail, giving way to leisurely winding road that leads to point above and behind the letters. Trailhead starts at the end of the driveway to Sunset Ranch which is just up the road from the studio, at the junction of Hollyridge Drive and Beachwood Drive. At the top of the driveway, the trailhead is up a short steep path to your right. Trail leads pretty clearly to the sign as long as you chose the uphill forks in road. Other trails are accessed here and one can hike to the Observatory, Bronson Caves, or beyond the Hollywood Sign to a spot called Wishing Tree where you can descend to Lake Hollwood (the Reservoir).
