Location, Location, Location. The Woodley park neighborhood is one the most sought after locations for its upscale houses, beautiful streets and its convenience. You really do not need a car to get around from here since the metro and the bus are about a half a block away. You can walk to the DuPont Circle, Downtown, the White House and the Mall. The Zoo is of course a block away. There are plenty of restaurants around the corner from the house where you can taste some of the best foods DC has to offer. The Hot and Juicy a shrimp and Craw-fish restaurant which is open late, the Lebanese Taverna, Le Pettit Plat a french restaurant, Pizze, an Italian Pizzeria, Dunkin Donuts, McDonald's, an Indian cuisine, an Afghan Kabab restaurant around the corner on Calvert and a Chipotle just to name a few. There is also a convenient grocery store 'Manhattan Market' as well as a CVS pharmacy within a block from here.
This is a fully renovated 5 bedroom house. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 with Queen and one with King beds, a daybed with 2 twin mattresses, and two bathrooms upstairs. One of the bathrooms has a tub, the other a standing shower which is a En-Suite to one of the rooms.
The first floor is where the living room, dining room and the kitchen are, plus a half bath in one location and a shower in another. The shower and the half baths are separate. There is a 2 car parking in the back on that level (There is a charge for parking).
In the lower level, there are 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed. There is a full bath, the laundry and a kitchenette.
The house is of course fully air-conditioned.

The redhead next to me is my wife Ana.
We have 2 daughters who are grown and are on their own ( not really, if you are a parent you know) and a 14 pound Schnoodle ( he thinks he is a giant). We have been living in the DC metro area for about 36 years and absolutely love it. Washington DC is a beautiful city, it really is and for people coming here to spend their vacations or attend conferences, weddings, funerals (The Arlington Cemetery), graduations, sight seeing, festivals etc. etc. there isn't any city that offers so much.
I manage the properties and Ana tells me what to do (!!!) We are a great team and enjoy doing what we do.
Allen purchased this apartment in 2012
This apartment is practically brand new. We gutted it out and redid the whole thing in 2012.
Walking to The convention Center and a bit further to the White House and the museums and all the memorials and the Mall.
We were in DC for a memorial service and there were nine of us (adults) staying in the house. It was perfect for our needs. The kitchen was easy to work in and well stocked. The dining area and living room were large and comfortable allowing us all to visit and spend time with each other. The home was in a nice, quiet neighborhood with restaurants, and liquor and grocery stores right around the corner on the next block. The location was convenient for sight seeing using Uber and public transportation. The owner, Allen was a pleasure to work with and always responded promptly to any questions we had. He was very accommodating and we appreciated that he offered us some flexibility with our arrangements. We would love to visit DC again and if we did so with a larger group we would definitely come back to stay in this beautiful home. Thank you Allen!

This house was ideal for our group of 14 to spend time together after a family wedding. It is simply furnished but has everything you need. All beds are doubles and the living/dining space is large enough for everyone to gather. Where this property excels though is in its location; it is in a beautiful leafy lane only a short walk from a high street with stores and restaurants (Open City was our favorite). Also on the high street is a metro station that gets you to the National Mall in 15 minutes and the entrance to the Zoo is only a 10 minute walk away. The owner Allen was always very helpful though once we were there everything worked and was self explanatory. Highly recommend this property for large groups looking to explore the museums, the monuments (evening by bike!) and zoo.
Large layout was perfect for our multi-family group. The owner was very responsive and helpful with our questions and extra requests (2nd pack and play, sheets, etc). We enjoyed the neighborhood and the convenient location 1 block from the Metra and 1/2 mile from the zoo. Open City restaurant (just 2 blocks away) was a great place for breakfast or late night dessert.
We had a total of 10 people at the property, all family. All had a great time and plenty of space! Having different levels allowed a great place to spread our, plenty of bathrooms, hot water, and kitchen space. Great location to catch the metro everyday and 5 minute walk to the zoo. Only recommendation I would make is to have another arm chair in the living space. We would book there again and recommend it to family and friends for a DC stay. Owner was easy to work with and very responsive.
I give this house 4-1/2 stars but the computer will not allow 1/2 stars.
We were able to get two vehicles in parking area in rear of property...it was a TIGHT squeeze but being very VERY close to the Metro we did not have to move the vehicles until the morning of departure. This area of DC is quiet and very beautiful. I observed many joggers and walkers in the area. Several restaurants within a 2 to 3 min. walk, along with a small market to purchase food for your stay in the house. Right across the street from the market is a Metro station. Access to the Metro is IMPERATIVE to getting around DC. It takes you to every historic area you want to visit, including Arlington Cemetery. Asking question Re: the Metro are easily answered by Metro employees and will save you a LOT of steps...so don't be afraid to ask. We did not eat at any of the nearby restaurants but they were full and had people waiting any time we went by during meal times.
There were 10 of us, 4 teenagers, in the house. The house was clean and well maintained. We never had a problem with showers OR not enough hot water. The dinning room table allowed all 10 of us to sit comfortably for meals. The kitchen is well laid out. The only problem we had in the kitchen was the dull knives. The small appliances work very well. Having teenagers or small children, a second TV would be nice, and a clock besides the one on the Microwave.
This property is a GREAT place to stay and we will DEFINITELY us it again with a large group if we re-visit DC. I highly recommend this property to large groups visiting the Washington DC area.
