Angler's Cove - Family Friendly Lakefront Cottage - Available Year Round

Photos and Description of this Pinckney holiday cottage

2 Bedroom Comfortable Cottage With An Additional Sleeping Loft And Private Dock.

Located in the center of the highly desired Halfmoon chain of lakes in the Pinckney Recreation Area, Angler's Cove is the perfect choice for those looking for a private piece of lakefront to swim, ski, fish and enjoy the thousands of acres of State forest land this area has to offer. The cottage sits on Round Lake, which is a small, quiet, no-wake lake connected to seven all sports lakes by navigable channels. Connected lakes include Halfmoon Lake with a public swimming beach and boat launch, Bruin Lake which hosts a state park camp ground, Patterson Lake and Hi-land Lake located in Hell, Mi. Why rent a cottage on a lake where you drive in circles all day? Instead come explore the Halfmoon Chain of lakes and boat for hours and never pass the same shoreline. The deep lakes offer wonderful swimming, boating and fishing opportunities. Over half the shoreline of this chain is owned by the State of Michigan, making these lakes much less developed than other lakes in Southern Michigan. The natural beauty and scenery rivals that of Northern Michigan (without the drive).

The Pinckney State Recreation Area encompasses thousands of acres of pristine forest land and many hiking/biking trails open to the public. Trails include the Potawatomi and the Waterloo–Pinckney trail. These trails pass through oak and pine forests and glacial features such as eskers and kettle lakes and through swamps and open meadows remaining from fallow farms. The trails offer some of the best hiking, cross country skiing, mountain biking and hunting in the state of Michigan.

Enjoy a swim in the clean water, sunbathe in the yard or take a ride in the paddle boat (provided). The dock has plenty of space to park your boat and there is hundreds of acres of water to explore. Pontoon boat rental available.

In the evening, warm to a campfire as you gaze at the stars, visit a local pub or explore the city of Ann Arbor just 30 miles to the southeast. The towns of Chelsea, Dexter and Pinckney are all within 15 minutes.

Cottage includes flat screen cable tv, wireless internet, full size, fully stocked kitchen with dishwasher and ice maker. Both bedrooms have a quality queen size bed and the kids will love their private sleeping/quiet space in the loft (you'll love it too). Linens provided.

After Memorial Day Weekend and before Labor Day Weekend requires a minimum 7 night stay. Check in Friday at 3:00 pm, check out Friday at 11:00 am.

The Round Lake cottage community hasn't changed much in decades. You will enjoy the nostalgic feel of this vacation community in the heart of the chain of lakes. Because of it's central location on the chain, it does require a 1.2 mile drive off the paved road. The road can be narrow at times as it passes through cottages built early in the last century. You can check out Patterson Drive on the map. Total drive time from the paved road is about 5 minutes.

Beautiful Lakes, Property as Represented

  • 5 of 5

This small cottage is set on a beautiful chain of lakes. The scenery is especially gorgeous in the fall when I visited, in mid-October. (I wish I had had more time to explore the lakes. They are not very large, but all the little twists and turns makes for a very pleasant outing and you feel as if you were quite away from civilization.) Bill, the owner, was very accessible and easy to deal with. The house is accurately represented in the photos. It isn't fancy but it is clean, well-maintained and a great place to get away. (I don't know if the area tends to be busier in the summer. When I was there, there weren't many people around.) Pinckney and a town that is actually called "Hell" are nearby and you can go there for breakfast -- as I did -- or groceries. For anyone seeking a quiet get-away, I heartily recommend this property.

Clean, welcoming and perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at Bill and Daleen's darling cottage! The accommodations were perfect and exactly as described. The Harpers were easy to reach by text and were very caring. We enjoyed the excellent hiking, the row boat, and the wonderful fire pit - and we hope to return soon!

Great get away location!

  • 4 of 5

We needed a place to stay close to Ann Arbor so we could attend a football game at The Big House. It was about a 40 minute drive into Ann Arbor, which was great! We cooked a couple meals in the well equiped kitchen. Our only regret was we did not have time to spend another day there, to just relax on the dock, or on the back deck, or around the campfire. Definitely a great place to relax! Owner was great! I have already recommended this location to several people!

Our second stay and it was great again. Our children and grandchildren and their friends come out and had a great time in and on the water. Good places to shop and eat are close by. And we will for sure be back!!!

A little piece of Pure Michigan heaven

  • 5 of 5

This sweet, neat, little home on a quiet lake was the perfect spot for friends with small kids to gather. The modern kitchen is perfect for cooking and sharing meals at the giant kitchen island and with the nice weather we were able to spend lazy mornings and afternoons on the patio, on the dock and evenings around the campfire. We loved the row boat and paddle boat and also used kayaks and stand up paddle boards we brought for checking out the birds around the lake and taking the kids fishing. The kid-sized sand beach was perfect for sand castles and hours of fun! The kids also loved the loft and using the ladder to get to the "pirates ship" where they played until they passed out asleep.

The modern appliances in the kitchen and giant 'fridge made it so easy to bring groceries from Ann Arbor and settle in. Also appreciated the dishwasher so no one had to spend time cleaning! We could not have asked for a better stay. It is obvious the owners of Anglers Cove have put a lot of care and nice touches into the cottage. We will be back next year!

Thank you again for a wonderful stay. Love your place by the lake. Nice and cozy cabin for the coldest weekend of the winter season. Kitchen is well-stocked and you supplied everything we needed for a nice weekend stay. Love the view looking out the window to the lake, even if was covered in snow. Saw many Canadian geese and several cranes. Took a walk through the woods on a trail off of Max drive and saw two beautiful swans. Cabin is perfectly situated close to many trails in the area. Bill has always been hospitable and welcoming. Really enjoyed our stay. Our son, who is 16, truly enjoyed the loft area. It was his own special retreat. Thanks again.
