Angler's Cove - Family Friendly Lakefront Cottage - Available Year Round

Bedrooms 2
Space 800 sq ft
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

2 Bedroom Comfortable Cottage With An Additional Sleeping Loft And Private Dock.

Located in the center of the highly desired Halfmoon chain of lakes in the Pinckney Recreation Area, Angler's Cove is the perfect choice for those looking for a private piece of lakefront to swim, ski, fish and enjoy the thousands of acres of State forest land this area has to offer. The cottage sits on Round Lake, which is a small, quiet, no-wake lake connected to seven all sports lakes by navigable channels. Connected lakes include Halfmoon Lake with a public swimming beach and boat launch, Bruin Lake which hosts a state park camp ground, Patterson Lake and Hi-land Lake located in Hell, Mi. Why rent a cottage on a lake where you drive in circles all day? Instead come explore the Halfmoon Chain of lakes and boat for hours and never pass the same shoreline. The deep lakes offer wonderful swimming, boating and fishing opportunities. Over half the shoreline of this chain is owned by the State of Michigan, making these lakes much less developed than other lakes in Southern Michigan. The natural beauty and scenery rivals that of Northern Michigan (without the drive).

The Pinckney State Recreation Area encompasses thousands of acres of pristine forest land and many hiking/biking trails open to the public. Trails include the Potawatomi and the Waterloo–Pinckney trail. These trails pass through oak and pine forests and through swamps and open meadows remaining from fallow farms. The trails offer some of the best hiking, cross country skiing, mountain biking and hunting in the state of Michigan.

Enjoy a swim in the clean water, sunbathe in the yard or take a ride in the paddle boat or kayaks (provided). The dock has plenty of space to park your boat and there is hundreds of acres of water to explore. Pontoon boat rental available.

In the evening, warm to a campfire as you gaze at the stars, visit a local pub or explore the city of Ann Arbor just 30 miles to the southeast. The towns of Chelsea, Dexter and Pinckney are all within 15 minutes.

Cottage includes flat screen cable tv, wireless internet, full size, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and ice maker. Both bedrooms have a quality queen size bed and the kids will love their private sleeping/quiet space in the loft (you'll love it too). Linens provided.

Starting Memorial Day Weekend and before Labor Day Weekend requires a minimum 7 night stay. Check in Saturday at 3:00 pm, check out Saturday at 11:00 am.

The Round Lake cottage community hasn't changed much in decades. You will enjoy the nostalgic feel of this vacation community in the heart of the chain of lakes. Because of it's central location on the chain, it does require a 1.2 mile drive off the paved road. The road can be narrow at times as it passes through cottages built early in the last century. You can check out Patterson Drive on the map. Total drive time from the paved road is about 5 minutes.

Very nice, relaxing cozy retreat for my mom, daughters and me to share the weekend. Love the kitchen with its large island. Says it seats 6, but there were only 5 stools. Cottage was adequately supplied - lots of towels. FYI if staying for a week, there is no washer/dryer, but didn't need it for a weekend. Beds were comfortable. Overall it was a wonderful weekend getaway place.

charming lakefront property

Small but neatly maintained cabin that abuts the lake with access to boats. Lovely setting in a beautiful, wooded area of Michigan.

Comfy little cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Nice, well-kept cottage for a couple or family. The kitchen is nicely renovated and the sun room is a cozy space for reading and enjoying the view of lake. Bedrooms are a bit basic but the beds are comfortable. Dock with Adirondack loveseat for evening stargazing. We took the kayaks out and paddled up Portage Creek. Kayaks are good for beginners, stable and easy to handle. Easy access to Pinckney mountain biking trails. Had pizza and beer at the nearby Hell Saloon.

It was really quiet during our stay, we really enjoyed it. It was exactly what we were hoping for. We've already discussed when we can do it again. it was nice to have the kayaks right there too.
