For most foreign visitors, Recoleta and Palermo are the top residential neighborhood choices in Buenos Aires. The best-kept secret is that just between them lies La Isla (The Island), an exquisite, small hill surrounded not by water but by parks and grand staircases that keep major traffic at bay. This is Recoleta at its best. And we the recently opened underground metro station Las Heras, at just one block of the apartment, you can go anywhere in Buenos Aires for just 30 cents of a US dollar.
Gelly y Obes, just two blocks in length, is the main street of La Isla, the address of the mansion of the British Ambassador and that of the most aristocratic and private Argentines. During your visit to Buenos Aires, you will have the chance to stay in La Isla, at a fantastic 140 square meter NON-SMOKING apartment comfortably appointed for four or five guests with great living room/dining room, study, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, wireless Internet and phone land line.
You will be at walking distance from Recoleta, with it's restaurants, cabarets, multiplex, artisan street fairs, and cultural center. You will also be at three blocks from the Museo de Bellas Artes and two from the National Public Library. But you will be above it all, in a capsule of comfort and peace, that you can leave only when you are ready for noise and excitement.
I am a film producer with properties in the Caribbean, New York, and Buenos Aires.
Carlos Munoz purchased this condo in 2007
I was thinking about making a real estate investment, but was undecided. When I saw this apartment, I fell in love with it. It is extremely spacious, has a wonderful balcony on a very quiet cobble street, it is so centrally located yet in an exclusive area of the city... I just couldn't let the opportunity escape.
I love how quiet and comfortable the place is. It is really my home away from home.
We enjoyed staying in the apartment very much. It comfortably accommodated five adults and is located near many restaurants, shops and museums. Carlos was a pleasure to work with; responding immediately to questions and anticipating in advance, information we might find useful for our stay. Buenos Aires is a beautiful city with much to see and explore. We recommend this delightful place to others.
We were 5 adults staying at this apartment after our cruise and we spent 4 nights here. The apartment had plenty of room and all the comforts of home. The cemetery, cafes, shopping and weekend craft market are a short walk away. I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone wanting a roomy, safe place to stay in beautiful Recoleta. Many thanks to Carlos, Alex and Maria for being so helpful to us.
This is a bright, sunny, comfortable apartment in an amazing location (a few blocks from Recoleta cemetery). Alex and Carlos are great to deal with, and the property manager, Maria, was responsive and very friendly. We were looking for a clean, well-located place with three bedrooms for a visit just before Christmas. I did not expect to find such a lovely, gracious apartment with so many extras such as three baths and a beautiful living area where my family could hang out together. The kitchen had everything we needed. The a/c worked great, and there were guidebooks and restaurant recommendations to make us feel welcome. The building is quiet and safe, and the building supervisors were helpful in getting us taxis to the airport, etc. I can't imagine a nicer place to spend some time in beautiful Buenos Aires. Thank you to Carlos, Alex, and Maria.
A delightful stay in a very stylish apartment with all facilities for a great time in one of the most exciting, lively and glamorous cities in the world. The apartment had everything one could require, was very secure with a doorman, centrally placed in a very chic neighbourhood minutes from shops, restaurants and some of the most famous sights in Buenos Aires.
My 2nd stay at this wonderful apartment was even better. As promised, Carlos had a bottle of Malbec waiting for me. Maria the manger was wonderful and helpful as ever!! I am a man, traveling with 2 women. The 3 bathrooms were very much appreciated. The place is perfectly located. Close to all, plenty of cabs available if you don't walk. But it is very quiet and peaceful if you just want to relax. Maria recommended a bicycle tour which we loved. You get to see places you never would get to on your own. 4 hours with plenty of stops and lunch on your own in La Boca. (Don't miss it...Go on your own if not by bike) Make sure you visit the Cemetery (just a few blocks from the apartment!) Go to a Tango show! (Maria can help with that too!) Have a Parilla lunch or dinner. Take a day trip to Uruguay. Enjoy the great City and people of B.A. and make this apartment your base and a grand place to come home to at any time!!
The apartament is very well located. It needs a little bit of maintenance. Good option at a reasonable value.
Palermo parks and lakes are at walking distance. You can bike, rollerskate or have energetic morning walks around the Rosedal, that is, Rose Garden or have tea the the Japanese Garden. Taxis are plentifully available one block from the apartment, in the intersection of Ave. Las Heras and Av. Pueyrredón. METRO subway station just opened at Las Heras, one block from the apartment! Supermarkets with fresh produce, wine, and prepared foods are within a two blocks radius. ATM available in the same block where the building is.
