The Fort

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 stayed for a week at this property. As the owner states, the steep stairs are not good for elder folks for sure. We did fine, and got our exercise! The property is beautiful and unique. The kids and adults enjoyed the catch and release fishing on the property. We were very close to town and enjoyed our stay there. We did have a very cute red tailed fox come visit us every night. Two things to note. Listing says satellite wi-fi. We had no wi-fi at all. Property manager told me if there were clouds in the sky, wi-fi did not work???? Also, we had family members staying in the A-Frame on the property. There is no way to communicate with them once they went to their house and we were in main house. Possibly walkie-talkies would be good? In case of an emergency, you would have to run between both house to communicate.

AH-MAZING Property close to downtown Aspen!

  • 5 of 5

WOW! This place is amazing! The property, which looks like an old fort (the towers even have beautiful bedrooms!) sits right next to a National Forest. We saw a moose nearly every morning that likes to hang out by the lake, there's a friendly fox that will come by every now and then and the trout filled pond is not only gorgeous but a ton of fun to fish. We had a very small wedding ceremony on the property with about 30 guests. A lot of our family stayed in the different rooms, it was perfect because everyone has their own bathrooms and their own private space to get away from everyone. This place is perfect for family or a bunch of friends and we are already all planning our next trip. Getting to downtown is a breeze and it's the most beautiful 15 minute drive ever, so we didn't mind it one bit. It was actually nice to get away from town and have the option of being in the masses or having some quiet relaxation time at the fort. Pete the property manager was awesome, he was super responsive and almost predicted our every need, I can't say enough nice things about him, great guy, and he really made our week there wonderful. The property owner is fast to respond and incredible accommodating, we are so happy about all of our interactions with everyone there. Everything was very clean, easy to find and had it's own charm. We are telling all of our friends about this place and I know we will be back over and over again!

Amazing Piece of property, Great location and very well kept. House is just minutes away from snowmass and buttermilk sky resort and the main Town. Property manager was always available at all times in case we needed something. I will definitely stay here again, cant wait to to the summer and enjoy your very own fishing pond. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in aspen.

Beautiful mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is truly an amazing property. We visited in August with our three kids (11, 9, & 6) and we all had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The kids loved fishing in the lake, taking us for rides on the row boat, biking nearby and generally exploring. The location is great - close enough to Aspen to enjoy a dinner out or other town activity but still feels remote and secluded. The house was clean and well appointed and property manager very responsive. Can't wait to return!

Everyone will love it!

This is a most amazing property! This was our first summer in Colorado and I wonder if I'll ever go back for the winters? There was so much to do it was continuous fun for everyone. The location is only 5 miles to downtown Aspen. But there was really no need to leave the property! There's incredible road biking just a few minutes walking or mountain bike and hiking trails starting on the property. If you are a novice at fly fishing, I can't think of a better way to learn and have a great chance of landing a big trout than on the stocked pond. The layout of the "Fort" gives everyone a central place to hang out but you can escape to the different sections throughout the fort and property to get peace and quiet. This will be a an amazing experience for the whole group or family.

Heaven on Earth!!

  • 5 of 5

Stunning property that is perfect for family and friends! Kids could fish 24/7 at the pond that is full of trout. Private retreat, yet minutes from downtown Aspen. Houses are great, super clean and best part is to open the windows and doors and hear the running river at all times. We will be back!
