Guestbook comments from the owner

This was the perfect place. Exactly as described (actually better). The lights in the bathroom are a blast, the whole place was comfy and so-o--o clean. It was great to find that even though it is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, it was a quick hop over to restaurants and stores.

Great stay! Highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 had a great stay at the Pond House. Clean, bright, spacious, easy to get to. The home is in a nice neighborhood just north of Charlottesville. With 2 young kids (ages 5 and 3), it was nice to have a large space vs. a cramped hotel room. The kids especially loved the color-changing lights in the shower. Would definitely stay here again.

On our trip, we hiked Crabtree Falls and picked apples at Carter Mountain, visited multiple wineries & breweries, and enjoyed meals downtown and at the historic Michie Tavern. Great visit to Charlottesville!

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rented the Pondhouse this past weekend to share in parent weekend for UVA. It turned out to be the perfect distance just outside the traffic in Charlottesville. We were able to easily travel back and forth between activities to refresh ourselves. The apartment exceeded our expectations in terms of size, comfort and amenities. The home is exceptionally clean and the owner provided all the little extras that make your stay feel like being at home. The attention to detail was superb. We will definitely choose this home over a hotel for our future visits.

Clean, but Awkward

  • 3 of 5

While it is a clean place with several amenities (TV, bathroom, fire place ambiance, etc.), it is awkward in that the stairs to the entrance to the apartment is located near the primary residence kitchen and living room windows. The residents are kind and friendly, but we had trouble "escaping" with the noises of footsteps above and the constant reminder of staying in their basement. Additionally, with the name "The Pond House" we anticipated a better/more accessible view and/or path to said pond. Unfortunately, neither were really possible.

very comfortable stay

  • 5 of 5

We just finished a 4 night stay at the Pond House in Charlottesville and found it to be a great place to stay. The bed has a very good mattress and with a quiet, dark room I slept better than I do at most places away from home. Never used the kitchen but it has everything anyone could need, full pots and pans, toaster, coffeemaker, brand new oven, microwave, dishes classes, etc. Snack bars, coffee, and several toiletries are provided. As it is a basement I thought it might be a bit dark but lighting has been well thought out and is great. Bathroom is huge, with fun, lighting around the shower. Everything is spotlessly clean. We will be back as we like to visit our family member living in Charlottesville. Much better than a hotel!

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property as we were in town for a UVA football game. This property is only a short (and nice) drive from downtown Charlottesville. It is well maintained, clean, spacious, and modern. My wife and I only stayed one night, but easily could have stayed longer with a larger family. The surrounding area is very nice and feels safe. If in town again, I will look into staying here.

Charming and Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the Pond House. It is convenient to UVA and downtown Charlottesville but is just outside the hustle and bustle of the city. The Pond House is well appointed with a very comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen and a huge bathroom. There are lots of little touches including easy to forget toiletries, snacks, spices and coffee. We will certainly be back
