Such a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The cabin is very nice. The views are awesome. Can't wait till our next visit.
It has a Phone# 304 434-2172. Whole area of state is great. Seneca Rocks and Front Porch rest. must sees.
I guess I opened Vetlands for 2016 in mid May. Expected snow in mornings due to weather reports, no snow. Flag shredded from winter winds/replaced. Bought 2 mouse traps, got one mouse. Take a radio. No TV, Internet or AT&T cell phone. Milk and eggs from last October in upstairs fridge. Hope someone else visits soon; I left well and water heater breakers on. Us mil types need an exit checklist! <G> Get current gate code just before trip.
This cabin is in a perfect location to enjoy a great sweeping view of the mountains. A fantastic place to just think and talk while escaping anything that induces stress. I liken the experience to camping in an RV; everything you need to enjoy the outdoors minus cell coverage (at least Verizon), TV, and internet. We did bring an FM radio which was perfect. The cabin has just about everything necessary to enjoy a stay but I agree with what they recommend doing with doing a short stay prior to a long term stay. That way not only do you ensure you bring what you need, though it's only a 30 minute drive to the grocery, but you're also sure you can live without TV, internet etc. Overall a great experience to come down from everyday stress.
This cabin is for veteran members of Vetlands only. It is available to members only when open during the spring, summer, and fall. It is not available for use when closed for the season.
