Welcome! Your vacation rental is a bright, well-appointed, and thoroughly updated 1300 sq ft apartment in La Grange, Illinois. First impressions are important, and our goal is to have you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Your apartment rental, with private entrance and dedicated off-street parking space, is on the first floor of a two-apartment owner-occupied building. The spacious living room and sun-room welcome you with comfortable seating, and room to spread out. A desk located at one end will easily accommodate two people working on laptops, and gives kids a work-space as well. We provide outlet towers in several locations for all your electronics. The fully-equipped kitchen includes a island/breakfast bar, and the dining room comfortably seats six. There are sleeping accommodations for four in the two nicely sized bedrooms. The option is there for one or two additional guests to stay in the sun-room which has pocket doors for privacy, and a full size sofa bed equipped with an Air Dream mattress. There are two full baths, including an en-suite in the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a Queen-size bed, and you will enjoy sleeping on a very comfortable Serta Pillowtop mattress. Bedroom Two has two twin beds. A front-load washer and dryer is available in the laundry room, located on the lower level. There is central air and heat, wireless internet and printer, and Direct TV. You will also have access to a Weber charcoal grill, and patio seating in the back yard.

Our property is located in a quiet neighborhood, just two blocks from historic, and vibrant downtown La Grange, Illinois with its many shops and restaurants. It's a short two-block walk to the Commuter Rail Line, taking you into Chicago, or points west. Oakbrook Center Mall in Oakbrook, Illinois [Nordstrom, Macy's, and MANY more] is six miles away. It's three miles to Brookfield Zoo [also accessible via the METRA train], and five miles to Loyola University Medical Center. It's only a five minute drive to Plymouth Place Senior Living in La Grange Park if you are visiting family staying there.

La Grange is a beautiful community with a vibrant downtown, and many choices in restaurants - Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Indian, and American Cuisines. McDonalds, Chipotle, and Starbucks are all walking distance [~5-10 minutes]. There is a Trader Joe's and a Walgreens located within a 10 minute walking distance. Other grocery stores are a 5 minute drive. Whole Foods is a quick four miles away.

About Chris and Susan

We are a married couple that has traveled throughout the US extensively, using the vacation rentals as our lodging in most cases. We have always enjoyed staying in a place that wasn't a tiny 300 sq ft hotel room with no character, and we wanted to try a vacation rental with our property. Our hope is that you will walk in and feel instantly welcomed, and comfortable. We live onsite, but there is no real space that you will have to share with us, including the entrance and driveway.

Why Chris and Susan chose Illinois

The property is located in the late 1800's established village of La Grange, Illinois. It's in a family oriented neighborhood, and we have always enjoyed coming to La Grange for various reasons, and staying to go to lunch, dinner or a movie, just 2 blocks away. We relocated to La Grange in 2013, after completing a complete remodel of our building.

What makes this apartment unique

Our building is completely remodeled, and thoroughly updated - walls, floors, windows, and appliances, and fixtures.

We have had several different experiences in vacation rentals and we we hope that we have covered most of the deficiencies that we have come across. Simple things like cleanliness, comfortable seating, and sleeping for sure, but also providing good cookware and kitchen utensils, not 23 slotted spoons but no functional cork screw....

Felt like home - welcoming, fresh & clean, beautiful, great location

This flat is so beautifully and completely appointed and so expertly maintained, that I felt as if I were borrowing a family member's home. Much care was taken in restoring this Arts & Crafts bungalow style 2-flat. The quarter sawn oak trim and details make a wonderfully warm and welcoming flat; the comfortable furniture and comprehensive appointments do the same. We are already working on a time to return...we hope there will be many returns to this lovely home.

For those not familiar with Chicago, know that this home is located in a handsome, upper middle class suburb that is linked with downtown Chicago by a train. The train station is 3 blocks from the home and the train schedule makes it easy to get to museums, restaurants, the lakefront, etc. I

The house is beautiful and is in excellent condition. There was five of us, my husband and I and our three grown children and we had plenty of space. The kitchen is very nice with all new appliances and all the dishes/utensils you would need. The location is also very good. There are many restaurants in La Grange that are in easy walking distance. Also very convenient to most parts of the Chicago area as it is close to the highways and the train. Chris and Susan were great hosts and very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay when visiting Chicago!

Our family of 6 adults had a great stay at this property during the holidays. The entire home is clean and comfortable and fit our needs perfectly. The kitchen is outfitted with top-of-the line appliances and was great for quick breakfasts or for preparing a complete dinner and included everthing we needed! The bedding and linens were fresh, new and very comfortable. The televisions, blue ray player, printer and wi-fi worked flawlessly and met all our electronic needs! The property is located near quaint shopping and dining. Too bad we didn't have more time to check that area out as we commuted into Chicago both days we were there. Driving into the city was easy and we could have also taken the train vs. driving. We were welcomed by the host with a bottle of wine upon arrival. What's not to like?

Beyond expectations

Beautifully restored and decorated home in La Grange. My sister, husband, and I spent New Year's Eve in La Grange. The house was very comfortable with a very well-equipped kitchen. The house includes a large dining room, large living room, and a sun room with pocket doors. The master bath has a walk-in shower with a seat and grab bar. We wanted for nothing!

The home is located on a quiet residential street within blocks of the train station and the shops and restaurants of La Grange. We would recommend this home to any of our family, relatives, or friends.

Excellent in every way!

This home is warm and welcoming ! Perfect for our family's Christmas gathering! So beautifully furnished from top to bottom.

Chris and Susan provided everything we needed from a "Packn'Play", and highchair for our grandson, to Christmas decorations. They have honestly thought of everything you could need: plenty of towels,comfortable beds,completely stocked amazing kitchen,nice dining table for our family and even a fireplace to hang our stockings! Our children are still thanking us for finding such a lovely place to be together.

The location couldn't be better. We walked to "Palmer's Restaurant" and the "Blueberry Cafe" on La Grange Road. We visited Brookfield Zoo for their "Holiday Magic." We enjoyed it all! Thank you Chris and Susan for making your home so beautiful and then sharing it with others.

We would do this again in a heartbeat!

Five Star Accomodations! Ritz Carlton like stay

Lovely, lovely, lovely. So happy we stayed here for Thanksgiving to be near family and our expectations were exceeded. All the beds have nice mattresses, pillows and linens- great night sleep. Gorgeous updated bathrooms with fluffy towels (and plenty of extras under the sink). Kitchen is top of the line with Vitamix blender and Kitchen Aid mixer and appliances (and some basic food supplies- thanks). Large living room for relaxing including a desk supplied with wireless printer (so handy) and supplies. Great location one block from a charming downtown LaGrange (including a Starbucks one block away) and train to city. Will stay here again. Thank you!
