About Kevin Fraley

Jill and Kevin Fraley have lived in Alaska for 25+ years. We moved to Alaska to have a slower pace of life, to focus on raising our kids, and enjoy the out doors and the wildlife. We love people, we love the water, we love to fish and we love Alaska!

Kevin Fraley purchased this house in 2013

Why Kevin Fraley chose Kenai Peninsula

The perfect place to get away. We are right on the best part of the Kenai River! The beauty is beyond explanation. So many things to do... Laundry and freezer space are on site too.

Very nice house and owners!!

  • 4 of 5

The Fraley's house is very nice, very well stocked with all the general amenities you will need, very comfortable, the view is great, the fire pit is nice, the location is in town so it is close to everything, but yet secluded and private. The Fraleys are nice people and very responsive to any questions or inquiries and very helpful with any special requests. We felt at home our entire stay.

We had a party of nine grown men. Since there are are only three private bedrooms and a sectioned-off bedroom, this meant that a few of us had to sleep on blow up mattresses or the couches, and we knew this going in. This was ok, but certainly not perfect, the house is probably better suited for three of four couples, perhaps with smaller children or teenagers who could sleep in the floor or couches easier. I don't mention this as a criticism, but just as information, as I said, we were aware of this going in and there are not many options for a large group to have a place of their own in the area. The house is big enough for more than 9 if needed, and the deck area is really nice. There were plenty of sheets and towels, etc. for all.

One other point of interest for fishermen/women... the property is right on the Kenai river and the running salmon go right past the fishing platform (you can see them). The Frayleys were nice enough to give us a few rods and reels to use during our stay, which was really nice, and we caught quite a few fish. (We were there in mid August for the silver salmon run). You can wade in the river also right off the fishing platform area. The one thing that does not show up so well in the vrbo pictures is the stairs that lead from the property to the fishing platform. There are approximately 40 stairs at a steep angle that will wear you out after two trips up and down, especially for anyone over 50 years old. I would guess the main property is 30 to 50 feet above the river level which is fantastic for the view, but tough on the knees (climbing the steep stairs). Again, I mention this not as criticism, but as general information.

Overall the place is wonderful and the hosts are top rate!! Just beware if you plan to fish and you are over 50, you will get a workout over the course of a week, but perhaps that is just what the doctor ordered? 😊?

Perfect Location, Perfect Host, Perfect Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We greatly enjoyed our time in Alaska in large part to the quality and comfort of this home, the excellent location, and the generous host.

The location was so close to town and the fishing opportunity was tremendous. The dock was rigged with a sound dock as well as a place to clean fish with ease. The house had comfortable beds and amenities. We found the home pristine and extremely well stocked. Our host was available to teach us Alabama folks how to best try for the salmon (we came with 200lbs!) and knowledgeable of the area restaurants. We can't imagine staying anywhere else if a great vacation is the goal in mind.

Great home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at your home! although while we were there and decided to fish on the dock the fish weren't biting at all. We had a wonderful meal at Louie's, we also loved the Moose is Loose Bakery there in town.
