About this property

Great Mtn views, private setting, Eagle River 20 minutes North of Anchorage

We call it our Alaska cabin. Its quiet, cozy, has great views, and a 5 minute drive to Eagle River for groceries or a great cup of coffee at Jitters (our local spot). There is great hiking and views-for-miles just minutes up the road from our house to the top of Skyline Dr. at Baldy Mountain. Or just sit on the deck with an evening glass of wine and look out across at Hiland Mountain or on a clear day north to see Denali. Eagle River is a great spot for day trips north to Palmer, Hatcher's Pass, Big Lake, or south to Anchorage, Arctic Valley, Alyeska, and the Kenai Peninsula.

Our home has 3 bedrooms with King beds in each and 2.5 baths. The house has a cozy feel upstairs with open floor plan. There is washer/dryer. There is also a large driveway that can fit multiple cars, or even park an RV.

NOTE: 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended if you are staying within snow season (October through April)

Awesome Family Venue
The place is fantastic! It is very well laid out and has all the amenities you will need! No corners were cut and it felt like we walked into a home away from home. Yes it’s in Eagle River but the drive to Anchorage is short and easy. A very private location with lots of windows and an incredible view.

Amazing location and Stay
Not much to say beyond my first experience in Alaska being amazing and the property was just that as well. Spacious, clean, amazing views, along with having the bedrooms well separated from the communal areas. Couldnt have asked for a better trip or a property experience.

Majestic Mountain
The property is was fantastic. My family had a great time and we were able to be well separated by the bedrooms and main living spaces above for sleeping and quiet time. The kitchen worked very well our daily cooking and the living room and loft was a great place for movies and playing games. The views from the deck were simple amazing overlooking the valley and bay. It snowed while we were up there, and the kids were able to sled down the road bank. Eagle River is a quant little town and has great access to nature centers, Anchorage, and up to Denali area. This is place is a gem.

About the host

I moved to Alaska in 1969, lived, worked and raised 4 kids there in Eagle River for 30 years. I live on the Big Island of Hawaii now with my 2 horses and I enjoy getting back to Eagle River to see friends and family as often as I can. This Alaska home has been a dream for us (the kids and grandkids) for several years and we finally found the perfect home in a great location.

Why they chose this property

Our family of 6 grew up just down the road in the 70s and 80s and while the kids (and their grandkids) have moved to different parts of the 'lower 48', we have been wanting a place to come back to you and keep ourselves connected to Alaska, so we have finally found this family home. We hope you enjoy as much as we do.
