The house had plenty of space and beds for a large group, which was great. The kids' play room was adorable! The proximity of Bryce was ideal, and having a market closeby was super convenient. My only complaint is that we were unable to get the wifi to work and never heard back from the owner. The computer at the house had wifi but was extremely difficult to use - a working mouse and keyboard would solve this problem. Hopefully these are easy problems to solve for the next group.
The house in Tropic, Utah was great! It was very spacious and was as described. We enjoyed the many bedrooms with our large family and the spacious kitchen. It was wonderful to be so close to Bryce Canyon & Kodachrome Basin where we were able to do all the hiking we wanted. Thank you so much!
Kids loved the backyard and the theater room. Plenty of room for a large family
House in nice condition - VERY large living/dining/kitchen area which is great for a big group and kids. Never felt like I was in anyone else's way, which is great considering there were a lot of us. Good seating options and basement theatre room was very nice. Ample parking. Could have used another bathroom, but who couldn't? Kitchen was easy to use and open floor plan made meals for all of us very easy. Was nice to have laundry available too. Bedrooms/layout worked well for our 3 night stay.
Cons: grill could definitely use updating (broken burners? and charcoal used - it's a gas grill) and some deck furniture was cracked/broken. Sink in laundry room was not hooked up underneath so water got all over and we couldn't get it hooked up. No dishwasher detergent, but agent did bring some by about 30 min after we called. When we arrived, the dishwasher had dishes in it and the dryer had towels in it, the fridge was pretty dirty. Would have been nice if those things were not our responsibility.
Overall though, nice property for a big group with kids. Master bathroom huge, nice to have front and back deck options. Having two upstairs bedrooms was really nice for the older couples in our group, and the location was very convenient to surrounding activities.
We had a great time with our 5 children and their children. Since there are 6 bedrooms, each family got a bedroom. It worked out very well! It was cool there is a large back yard that was great fun!
The description is spot on! It was clean and ready for us when we got there. We spent a lot of time in Bryce Canyon, that is very close.
My husband's great great grandfather is Ebenezer Bryce, so it was great to see the history in Tropic and the Canyon.
I would recommend this property to others.
There were two items that need addressing though.
First there is a cat on the property that had water and food and a bed out side and we assumed we were to feed the cat. I had three people in my group that are allergic to cats, so that needs to be disclosed. We moved his food further away and did not let it in the house. Since we cannot bring pets, it seems odd that there is a pet there.
Second the downstairs bathtub took forever to drain.
Other than that, is was good.
House is very nice, new and updated, extremely spacious open kitchen area. Beds are nice, bathrooms adequate. All those beds downstairs and only one bathroom. Never could get the downstairs big screen TV to even turn on. Deck outside is also adequate- don't know about 3 large decks? The house location is very convenient for visitors to Bryce. The house was pretty clean when we arrived, but the ovens were not, and the area around the cooktop was very greasy. There were also sheets in the dryer- we just set them aside. I think the cleaning crew needs a shake up- seemed like a lazy cleaning job, - house is very new so its easy to get away with this. I contacted the local contact BEFORE our arrival by email, and she was very prompt and helpful. However, she did not tell me she was going to be out of town and completely unavailable/unreachable the entire time we were there. (4 days) We needed her because the gas grill propane tank was completely empty upon our arrival, and we could not use the grill the entire time. Second problem we needed her help with was the cat. When we arrived there was a note inside the house asking us to care for and feed the cat. The cat was on the back deck, in a box with a blanket. We were happy to feed the cat, but no info was left on how or what to feed the cat. The note said the cat could also come in the house- but we did not allow this. So, since we were unable to reach the local contact, we bought cat food and fed the cat. very weird. When I finally reached the local contact, after we had checked out of the house, she said she knew nothing about the empty propane tank or the cat. I had also contacted the Evolve Rental team to let them try to find the local contact, they were very prompt and attentive but were also unable to reach her. Note to owner- get a new local contact and a new cleaning crew. Your house is very nice and convenient for Bryce visitors.
