About the property

Farmhouse, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Come and enjoy the experience of a charming yet funky remodeled 1800's farmhouse. Listen to the brook and enjoy a glass of wine in front of the wood stove with your loved ones! Gaze at the stars from the bedroom window. Remember that life is meant to be savored!

Our home has 2 bedrooms and a sleeping nook. Each bedroom has a queen sized bed. One bedroom is a loft over the main sitting area and the other is a suite with it's own bathroom and jacuzzi tub. The sleeping nook has a full size bed and there is a twin daybed on the adjacent landing. There is a mudroom to put your boots and coats, a patio overlooking the lawn and a washer dryer. The second bathroom is adjacent to the kitchen with a claw footed tub and shower.

The kitchen comes fully equipped with a microwave, dishwasher, cast iron pans and cooking utensils. We love to cook so you should find what you need to make a great meal! Other amenities include a washer and dryer and grill.

The house is in a quiet location off route 107 adjacent to Stony Brook and is just 20 minutes to Killington/Pico. Just down our road is the VAST trail network and the Appalachian trail. Our road is perfect for mountain biking, snowmobiling, ATV's and walking...there is something for everyone!

The surrounding area also offers hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, biking, horseback riding, and fishing. You can swim and tube in the White River and there are two golf courses within 15 minutes.

We hope you come and enjoy our idyllic haven and make it yours for a week or weekend!

We fell in love with the house!

What makes this farmhouse unique

Walking into our house is like sinking into a warm bath. I love to get away from the city to experience the quiet and contemplative nature of the house and surrounding area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I wanted to thank you again for your hospitality in letting us ENJOY your lovely home for the weekend! The place is very quaint and quiet and sits right on the river which was perfect! The conditions at Killington were amazing, we even went back Sunday after we straightened up the place! It was like a home away from home and we couldn't have asked for more! We are absolutely in love with the area as well.

Clean, well equipped, as expected

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect location in proximity to a family cabin for extra guests at Thanksgiving. It had everything we needed, though we mostly just slept there and did cooking at the other house. It was very important that we could bring our dogs with us because they are family too. There is a nice mudroom for the dogs and a good road to walk them. The only down side was the tub shower with the surround curtain is not my ideal, but it was clean and there was hot water, so that is most important to me. We hope to go back again.

Fun, unique place - lots of stairs - out of way location

  • 3 of 5

We ended up loving this place for its uniqueness, but there’s not much privacy and the bathroom situation is far from ideal. Stairs do not make it a good place for elderly. BUT all in all, we agreed that we are glad we stayed here...it gave us a true taste of an old Vermont farmhouse!

Relaxing Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We totally enjoyed our stay in the Stockbridge house. I loved the beautiful wood floors and the beautiful stain glassed windows. My daughter enjoyed playing the electric piano while I woke up to coffee and peaceful sound of river across the street. Since we were in Vermont for family get together, the location was perfect for us as my brothers were building a home that was approx. 2/1/2 miles further up into the mountains. It definitely was helpful to know the area and the local river swimming holes available during the summer months. It might be helpful to have a map of local swimming options for others who are not as familiar with the area. Suzanne McCullough dropped off fresh veggies and eggs waiting for us upon arrival and also had placed local wildflower bouquet on the gorgeous kitchen table, built by her son Otto. My family and I loved playing evening card games sitting at the large table! I will definitely be booking again when family gets together in the fall!

Amazing Stay- LOVED It!!!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely LOVED our stay. Myself and a few friends from work took the weekend off to hit the slopes at Killington and we could not have been more happy with our stay. Location is about 25 minutes from the mountain, it's just removed enough for privacy but close enough that everything is nearby- you pass through town each day on the way to the slopes which is super convenient. Cozy, surprisingly big, well stocked kitchen, comfy, and it even had some awesome board games. Would rate 6 stars if I could.

A lovely stay for a weekend away.

  • 5 of 5

This house was the perfect spot for a relaxing winter weekend away. The house is spacious, yet cozy; rustic, yet in possession of all the necessary modern amenities. It was a lovely space to come back to from a snowy hike and then settle into a night of games and local craft beers by the fire. Highly recommended.

Great foliage, cool design

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location for our foliage trip. On a secluded mountain road with a babbling brook we could hear, yet close to major attractions, and easy to reach all the way North on a day trip. Funky design and layout, and my kids even loved playing the electric piano.
