This place has a little pool, and an outdoor hot tub. Bonus!
It was HUGE, with 2 levels, and had a full kitchen on living room on each level and multiple bedrooms. The view is amazing and you can walk right down to the beach where the surfers enter the water to surf. And when the tide goes back down after lunch time, you can walk to the right to find Tidepools. That was a pleasant surprise. Also at low tide, you can walk along the coast all the way to the beach nearby that many people drive to called Tourmanline. Would HIGHLY recommend for families and kids. Very Kid Friendly. If you don't have kids, it's also great for couples, although a bit HUGE. And would also would great for adult groups.
I stayed at this wonderful beach-front house for a family reunion. The view of the sea and beaches was amazing each day. There was a lot of space for everyone to to relax, surf on the computer and eat together. There is a public stairway next to the house to go tide-pooling with my grandchildren and the sandy beaches were a very short drive away. I would love to stay at this house again!
My sisters and I decided it was time to have a big family reunion and we looked at different locations and lodging options. We knew that with so many grandkids between the 3 of us, we wanted to stay by a beach with access to amusement parks and entertainment for the whole group. Our main agenda were to take the grandkids to Sea World as well as LegoLand and for the adults to play a few rounds of golf at Torry Pine.
We were fortunate to have found this beautiful house in La Jolla, since it is near all of the places we wanted to visit. The house is huge and had plenty of living spaces so that no one felt cramped. Since there are 2 master bedrooms as well as kitchens on both floors, the young ones could be at their most rambunctious upstairs and those of us that needed some quit could find peace elsewhere in the house. The 4 bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the beds are all so comfortable. There’s also 2 additional portable beds that we were able to place in one of the living rooms to accommodate our group. The house has 5 full bathrooms and I have to say that there was absolutely no problems when multiple showers were going at the same time. We also took advantaged of the BBQ and patio areas looking out at the ocean for many evening meals together.
The whole family enjoyed the easy beach access, especially down to the tide pools to explore or simply watch surfers do their tricks right from our balcony. We also took advantage of the clean hot tub as well as the nice pool.
Of course everyone of us had a budget in mind for this trip. When you consider that we would require at least 5 separate hotel rooms for this trip, the cost of this house became the affordable option for us. With 2 full size kitchens, yes, one upstairs and one downstairs, we were able to limit eating out so we had a lot more cash left over to splurge on the grandkids.
I highly recommend this oceanfront house, especially when considering a family get-together. we made some wonderful memories that week; and I know with having such nice accommodations and prompt response from management when we had needs only made it that much special.
We stayed at this home in August for a family reunion. There was plenty of space with multiple decks overlooking the ocean for four families and the kitchen was well appointed with any appliance we could think of. The house is next to an easement that leads you directly to the oceans and surfers would access the stairs and we used it to tidepool with the kids when the surf rolled out. During the day I worked off the wifi while my kids went to Pacific Beach for surfing lessons. In the afternoon they played for hours in the pool. In the evening we took walks through the neighborhood and saw sunset from a small park nearby.
There were plenty of towels and linens and the laundry worked perfectly. We hope to stay here again!
Upon arrival, one can see immediately that the street and neighborhood are fantastic! Adjacent to the beach access, you will see plenty of surfers and tide poolers out on the street! (Don't miss the park around the corner - especially for sunset with all the neighbors and their dogs!). This home sits facing south with views of Crystal Pier, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach and the frequent fireworks display at Sea World. You really can sit on the patios and balcony all day and not be bored! The home is absolutely huge with dual masters, several additional bedrooms, 5 full baths and at least 3 living rooms! The pool is nice and private in the courtyard. The spa is unbelievable -- hot, great jets and you are out under the stars and the sky! Upon arrival, a small spa problem was addressed immediately the next day - otherwise? No problems at all! This home might be a little older and not have the finest and most current furnishings however it is HUGE, in a fantastic neighborhood and has a view that just won't quit! I recommend this property for a medium to larger group.
We enjoyed our stay a lot... The rooms were very comfortable and the big outside deck accommodated all of us easily. At night, sitting in the hot tub on the deck with the full moon shimmering on the water in the cove was magical... We liked being between La Jolla and San Diego - it made it easy to go either direction depending on what we wanted to do. The only downside was that we couldn't just go down the steps and walk on the beach... there were beautiful tide pools, but to actually go to the beach, you have to go down about 6 blocks... not awful but not as convenient as being right on the sand. The upside was that the views were awesome... surfers down below us all day long. We would stay here again!
