Enjoy our little slice of heaven on two acres, just a short walk from New Hampshire's idyllic Crescent Lake. Crescent Lake is New Hampshire's cleanest lake.
Enjoy swimming, mountain biking, road cycling, kayaking, canoeing, hiking and great freshwater fishing. Or just chill out on our private association beach with a book and a glass of wine. Shopping nearby in Sunapee, Claremont and Newport. Be sure to stop by the Unity General Store for your morning coffee and paper.
Our bright and cheery cottage is family and pet friendly. Fully equipped to be your home away from home with complete kitchen, washer and dryer, WiFi, smart TV (internet, Netflix, on demand, etc.), DVD player, Bose Wave radio/CD, plenty of games and more. Please note we do not have cable TV. Cell service is not very reliable, but you are welcome to use the cottage phone for local and calls within the US. With two bedrooms and a sleep sofa in the living room six people are easily accommodated. Enjoy the large deck with lounge chairs, dining table and gas grill. At the beach, grab our three kayaks and explore our wonderful lake.
Shorewood Estates is a cottage community with great and friendly neighbors and a feeling that you've stepped back into a simpler time, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You're going to love this place!
We have two children and bought this property when they were young, so they have essentially grown up on the lake. We love to share our cottage and believe you will have a great and relaxing time here.
Phil Bonomo purchased this cottage in 2006
This is a great family spot. A place where memories are made and life is lived simply. Super private, yet steps from the lake and a myriad of wonderful activities!
We love the quiet setting combined with easy lake access, super hiking, swimming, cycling and more right nearby!
Clean, well cared for rustic getaway. We were greeted with a wonderful welcome basket with Kcups, biscotti, local spices, bubbles and squirt guns for the kids, as well as all the info we needed to orient us to the place. Owners are both thoughtful and reasonable. Enjoyed sitting on the deck, and kayaking on the lake and the stars at night. Well stocked conveniently located firewood for enjoying the fire pit at night. Loved being able to bring our dogs and letting them run into the lake with the kids. Lake access is a short 5 minute walk on a dirt and gravel road. Lake water was clean, but with a higher density of organic matter giving it a brownish tone. Nearby Mt. Sunapee state park (est. 25 min) had waters that were more blue and lifeguards, but no pets allowed. Mt. Kearsage was a nice day hike (even with young kids) within reasonable driving distance. We were looking to get away from a lot of electronics...expect to do the same. There was no cable/satellite tv, but there was access to their private Wi-Fi. The tv in the living room area was not capable of accessing that and is set up for dvd/vhs use only. Kids room had a smart tv that had access to Netflix and DVD/video. Good opportunity to connect with your family, play some games and enjoy some quiet. Area was quiet and peaceful. Greatful for our time together...kids wanted to stay after a week, which says everything. Thank you to the Bonomo's for making our stay comfortable.
My girlfriend and I recently stayed here for four days and three nights for a peaceful getaway for my 26th birthday. The property and the experience exceeded all of our expectations. When we arrived, the house was very clean, and true to the pictures online. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and easy to navigate, the bathroom was clean, and the living area was spacious and comfortable. A small binder with information about the house and surrounding area was left out for us.
We spent a lot of time on the porch, we used the grill, and Phil left us plenty of firewood and firestarters for the fire pit, and of course we made smores. As soon as we arrived, the house felt like our own cozy home, and we forgot it was a rental. We filled the fridge with our own food and cooked together every night. There are board games and movies, (look in the sudoku puzzle book, we finished one and signed it), and plenty of lounging space inside.
A 5-10 minute walk (or short drive) on a dirt road from the house is Crescent Lake. Phil left oars and life jackets in the house, and keys for the kayaks that are locked up right by the shore. My girlfriend and I enjoyed a trip out onto the lake together in a double kayak. The lake is clean and clear, just as described.
The one thing that made this trip perfect, besides the much needed solitude (it's incredibly quiet and serene), was the owner, Phil. We emailed/texted him throughout our stay whenever we had questions, and he answered promptly and happily every time. Thank you, Phil!
If this review seems like an exaggeration, I assure you it is not. My girlfriend and I had a vacation we'll never forget. If you are looking for an affordable, peaceful, fun and cozy getaway, look no further, because you've found it.

Our family loved the stay at Phil's place. The property is neatly located walking distance from the lake and very well kept. We took advantage of the available kayaks and had a lot of fun on the lake, especially nice for kids with a lot of energy. The lawn was very cozy and I am going to keep in my memories the night spent by the fire pit.
Phil is obviously a very thoughtful person as he left warm welcoming notes around the house for us and the kids.
A bonus to visit the closest blueberry picking farm - we did it on our way out.
Phil was extremely helpful, and responsive the entire time. He was very attentive and ensured that we were all set. The house is a very cute, cozy home, a short walk to the lake! We loved that they had Kayaks accessible, and the neighbors were very friendly also! The only reason I wouldn't give this place 5 stars is because the porch (which gets some incredible sunlight during the day!), wasn't properly kept. It has dirt, and cobwebs everywhere. I think if they had swept it before we came, and cleaned the outside cushions I would've definitely given this place 5 stars! I would definitely recommend this place, as it was very quaint.
Absolutely spot on in terms of value. Crescent Lake is gorgeous and bigger than expected. Only a few footsteps away from this perfect sized cabin. Rustic yet bright. Warm and cozy with some modern touches. Quiet dirt road. Peaceful.
Kayaking on a crystal clear lake. Grilling steak. Fireside smores. Exploring the neighboring areas of Newport and Sunapee. All highlights. This place is in a great location with a nifty general store close by. Perfect if you love the outdoors.
This place may not have bidet-type amenities, but it has everything you need to have a great time. We sure did.
We had a great weekend staying in Phil's cottage! He was quick to respond to our questions and had a neighbor leave the lights on for us as we were arriving late at night. We had no problems finding it, GPS took us straight there, but Phil also sent detailed directions. The cottage itself was very comfortable, private, in a quiet area. We enjoyed canoeing all weekend on Crescent Lake, even in the rain. The lake was peaceful, and the water crystal-clear. We would definitely stay at the cottage again!
Lots to do a short ride away! Sunapee Adventure Park, Pollard Falls are thrilling. Pick blueberries and strawberries in season just a few minutes down the road. Amazing hiking just out the front door or a short ride away at Gove Hill, Mt. Sunapee, and Ascutney Mountain. Or stay at the lake to kayak, swim, fish, relax and explore!
