The style of this villa is best described as a sophisticated interpretation of island living. Villa Vista Mare brings you the casual comfort of the island while offering an eclectic design, a tropical feel and rich finishes in its interior. When you enter you will feel like you have indeed escaped to paradise.
The villa sits on a large slender lot, featuring the splendid main house on the street side and a super cozy, fully equipped gazebo with kitchen, outdoor shower and bathroom on the ocean. Here is a lot of space to lounge and hang out at the pool deck, while overlooking the ocean. Vista Mare has a beautiful Magna Pool, with magnesium minerals. When you jump in, you can feel the difference: the water has a gentle, silky feeling against your skin. There is little or no irritation to your eyes and your hair won’t need washing to get rid of that chlorine smell or sticky salt feeling associated with chlorine and saltwater pools.
And then there is the ocean... directly accessible through easy steps down to the beach which is partly sandy and partly rocky. At the gazebo there are bar style tables with high chairs, a dining table and plenty of sunbeds for everyone to enjoy.
Water shoes are recommended to enter the crystal clear water and if you bring snorkeling gear you will see the beautiful coral reef and loads of tropical fish.
The main house has many amenities to keep you entertained: a roomy living area with big flat screen TV, a bar with wine cooler and ice maker, a fully equipped kitchen and even a billiard table.
Enjoy the breeze as it comes through the screened in shutters. Or enjoy the spacious porch, where you will also find a large dining table that fits 10 persons, comfortable chaise lounges and coffee table with lounge seating.

This home is even lovelier than depicted in photos. The fact that the sea and the pool are a short stroll away really worked in our favor, as the two toddlers in the family played for hours on the expansive shaded porch, while the older kids enjoyed snorkeling and swimming. Rob and the rest of the team were eager to make our stay enjoyable, and we couldn't have asked for more. The kitchen was well appointed, the home beautifully decorated, and the layout perfect for our family of 6 adults and 6 children ranging in age from 20 months to 65! We cooked at home every meal except for 1 pizza night and one night with fabulous chef Philip Joukes. We had 2 trucks, so dived and snorkeled all over the island. We did dive the reef in front of the house, but access was fairly difficult. Overall, would recommend this home to anyone.
This was the most amazing place we've ever stayed for a family vacation. We all felt like we were treated to a stay in a seaside palace. The house was well equipped and spacious, accommodating all 9 of us -- 5 adults and 4 scuba qualified teenagers -- very comfortably. We ate all meals outside on the veranda, overflowing through a sliding door into the breakfast area adjacent to the kitchen, and next to the pool table alcove.
But the real treat was the two story "gazebo", overlooking the sea. It was palacial, with an outdoor kitchen, shower, and bathroom, equipped with glasses and plates suitable for poolside use. It was topped by a gorgeous covered second story for optimal waterside viewing, with several comfortable seating areas, and overlooking a disappearing edge swimming pool and descending terraces with additional seating areas, all with an unobstructed view of the sparkling sea.
We felt really special in this luxurious place, and have already booked our return.
Where do I begin? You know it has to be awesome when our group of 10 walked in and everyone was speechless. The house is spacious and well decorated. The pool and pool house is an outdoor oasis where we lived every day. As in life, things happen. We lost electricity during the night and had a flood in the kitchen. The next morning, we called the property manager; the repairman was at the house within 30 minutes with no interruptions in our plans since we were at the pool. The only inconvenience was the pool needed to be shocked and we lost one day of swimming. These minor mishaps did not, in any way, lessen our enjoyment. I would recommend this property (as well as the property managers) without hesitation. We have been back less than one week and we are already planning next year's trip to this property.
We stayed at Villa Vista Mare in late June of 2015 on a family vacation. It was the perfect choice of accommodations on Bonaire. The Villa is spacious, luxurious and very well maintained. It is exactly as described and every bit as beautiful as the photos. There really is something for everyone. It has a near professional grade kitchen, billiards table, exercise room, two outdoor BBQ's, and a pool that the kids practically lived in the whole time.
The second story suite is really a separate apartment with its own full kitchen and sitting area. It opens onto the roof of the main house which has a fantastic view and is a lovely spot for early morning yoga. One of the the four bedrooms in the main house, which has an attached full bathroom, has a separate outside entrance and no direct connection to the inside living areas of the house. The vast master suite, with its huge walk in closet and vaulted skylit ceiling is quite spectacular. The attention to detail throughout the property is what ultimately elevates this property to the reputation it's clearly garnering on the island.
The management team that administers the property made everything easy. Rob met us at the house on arrival and came by on the last day to make sure everything went well during our stay. He had also given us his cell phone number to call if we needed it during our stay, but since everything at the villa went well we had no need to use it. The owners gave us contact information for a dive shop that arranged to have tanks delivered to the property daily which made taking advantage of the prime dive site in the back yard all that more convenient.
After staying in many places on Bonaire over the last few decades we now feel spoiled by Villa Vista Mare. There are many great places to stay on Bonaire, however this was the by far the best accommodations we've found. We look forward to returning to this wonderful home in the future.
Been studying and renting " Oceanfront Villas" in Bonaire for a decade. Villa Vista Mare is, by far the most impressive "Home", and I use that term intentionally, my family and I have stayed in. The design, the layout, the engineering, the appointments, the attention to detail in the house is amazing. The amenities are endless. The reef out back offers some of the best diving on the island. The owner is flexible and accommodating and the service from the Re Max team was highly professional. Staying at Villa Vista Mare was an unforgettable, extraordinary experience.
We were fortunate enough to visit Bonaire twice this year, and both times we stayed in this beautiful home. The first time was with two other couples in March and the second was with family in May. The first time we rented it directly from the former owner and the second time was immediately after the sale to the new owners. First of all, I cannot say enough good things about this house, which is absolutely amazing. This is a huge house and is situated on a narrow lot that has a long beautifully landscaped pathway, which leads to a gorgeous pool and gazebo overlooking the beautiful Caribbean. It has everything you could imagine: a professionally equipped kitchen, a pool table, bar area with ice machine, wine fridge, drink fridge, outdoor grill, etc. The pool and surrounding area is just perfect and was a favorite hangout spot for us. It also has an outdoor kitchen, bathroom, outdoor shower and grill. Bonaire can get really hot and the upstairs of the gazebo is the perfect place to escape the sun and enjoy a delicious breeze. There are even hammock hooks up there, which my husband took advantage of with his ENO hammock on several afternoons. The diving and snorkeling in front of the house is as good as anywhere on the island. The former owners of the home are well known around Bonaire. We actually had people at the dive shop and other places tell us this was the best place to stay in Bonaire. The new property manager, Rob, took good care of us during our stay. The only negatives (besides the mosquitos, which are just part of Bonaire) are that the lot next door is currently undergoing new construction (which may last for at least a year or more), and as usual for homes rented on the island, the bedrooms were air-conditioned, the living areas were not. Therefore, cooking in the gorgeously appointed kitchen can be quite uncomfortable. I have made the suggestion to the owner to install additional fans in the kitchen and he agreed to look into it. Nothing was going on with the construction next door while we were there, so we were fortunate. The home has a nice privacy wall and landscaping which should help keep the noise down. Regardless of these issues, I would highly recommend this home and hope to get to enjoy it on another trip to Bonaire in the future.
