Laura Shannon is the owner and operator of Heather Hill Farm. Although she was born and raised in New York City, her heart always felt more at home in the country. After retiring from a 30 year career in International business, she found herself suddenly widowed. Believing that the best way to deal with grief was to learn something new, Laura went to the State Agricultural School and bought land in Chester County. That raw land is now Heather Hill Farm. With the help of Amish barn builders and some of her horse keeping friends, Laura designed the house, barn and fields. The farm was completed in 1998 and now has the profile of a mature horse property. It is a source of great pride and pleasure to Laura and her family. Heather Hill was named for her daughter Heather Shannon.
After 18 years in Chester County, Laura and her family consider Heather Hill Farm their beloved home and sanctuary. While it has not been passed down by prior generations, it is a beacon that welcomes grown children and grandchildren, friends and relatives from near and far. It has been the site for several family weddings, reunions and festivities providing treasured memories for all. We hope you can enjoy Heather Hill as much as we have and build some of your own wonderful memories here in this lovely spot.
