Great for fishing, tubing, skiing, kayaking, jet skiing, and a sand bar for socializing. The home features 3 docks, 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, 2 Jacuzzis, 3 fireplaces, 2 outside fire pits, 50' flat screen TV, 4 car garage, wrap around deck, 2 kayaks. Conveniently located. 15 min. to Wolfboro, NH 30 miles to North Conway, NH and their are 4 restaurants within 5 miles.
Place is dump. It needs a ton of work. It's dirty. The pictures of the docks must be from when they were built because you can't walk on them. Same thing with the stair case. And do not open the fridge in the garage unless you want to vomit. The owner did not return calls or texts while we were there to take care of our many concerns. I wouldn't go back if it was free.
I 100% agree with the person below me. I rented this property for Labor Day weekend and when I arrived I spent the first two hours cleaning the outside of the house. The windows are disgusting and the property surrounding the house is a mess. I was embarrassed to have my guests show up to the house in that condition.
All the seat pads and the couches are stained in the house. We couldn't even sit around the kitchen table because the seats were disgusting. I also had to clean the grill for an hour before I could even put food on it. There was VERY little propane left after the owner promised me he would restock before I showed up. If you plan on renting this house bring your own paper towels and toilet paper because there was only one roll of each in the house. And as the guy below me states, DO NOT open the fridge in the garage ( it's disgusting). It's too bad because the house could be really nice if some TLC was put into it. I think the worst part for me was I called the owner when I checked in and he told me he would call me back and I never heard from him again. This was the first time I rented a property like this and I definitely learned my lesson!
It's clear the owner is doing as little as possible to the home while maximizing revenue. Curb appear is rough. Trash throughout the grounds and DO NOT walk around the house barefooted. Boards with nails, construction materials all laying around. The steps going down to the lake are sketchy with one step rotted out and a rusty nails sticking out....(watch your bare feet). Docks are pretty rough but were usable. Half the windows don't have screens, and the rear screen door going onto the deck was just laying on the ground making it not usable. Toilets work most of the time but you need to hold the flush handles down for a looong time to flush. At one time the home was a very high end property but not anymore. At night the large black ants come out in the kitchen but they don't seem to eat much, and whatever you do.....DO NOT OPEN THE FRIDGE IN THE GARAGE...its full of rotting food and who knows what else. Interior of the home is OK but it seems to be more set-up for use by college kids who really can't hurt anything. Would not recommend for family vacation with small kids. I could go on but I think you get the point.
Nothing like we were promised. Don't get me wrong, the property itself is beautiful. The cleanliness of the house, not so much. The sheets and towels that were provided didn't seem clean, nor did any other part of the home. Our first night there while laying in bed, my wife and I started to get bit by something. We flipped the box spring over and there were bedbugs. Needless to say, we called the owner and he was less than accommodating and refused to refund our money. He had the nerve to tell us that we brought in the bugs. Never again!
When we arrived we found the fridge to be full with other people's food, the cabinets were also full with expired food. We had no place to put the food we purchased and had to clean out the fridge. We texted the property owner to inform him that the fridge was not working properly and that we needed the wifi password so we could get work done while there. He never responded the entire time we were there! We had to buy ice for our coolers to keep our food cold. The deck is a nightmare. It's very unsafe especially for children, my youngest got several splinters during our stay. The dock is also in rough shape. My oldest child fell twice and my youngest got cut from a nail sticking out. Every drawer and closet was full with stuff. There was no place to put our belongings. The grill was left with no propane and we had to fill the tank ourselves. There were no cleaning products for us to use such as dish soap or dishwasher detergent we had to go out and purchase our own. There also wasn't toilet paper and we had to go out and buy this as well! This property has so much potential if the owner cared about the appearance and cleanliness. If you have little ones I would not recommend this property until the deck and dock are fixed, very hazardous.
My friends and I booked this a while back for 7/16-20, and were a little nervous when we logged on a week or so before our vacation and saw the latest review posted on 7/10. When we arrived, we immediately pegged that reviewer as... well, completely unreliable. Coleman's property is gorgeous, there is a huge, well maintained front lawn that is ideal for lawn games and lounging. There is a porch-like setup with a grill, table, fire pit, and a bunch of chairs that we used the entire time we stayed. Inside the house was gorgeous as well, and certainly very clean upon our arrival.
The back porch was extremely private and had another fire pit. We used the back porch mostly when the front lawn was too hot to sit in, as the back porch is shaded by trees. Not sure if the outdoor hot tub was working or not, there was no water in it so we didn't try. The large screen TVs in all rooms did work for us, they were just a little complicated to try to figure out how to work them (although there were detailed instructions for us waiting on the coffee table).
As far as the stairs leading down to the docks, and the docks themselves - the stairs were completely fine. Two of the docks were a little shaky, but the most accessible dock was perfectly fine and not unsafe at all.
The owner, Coleman was extremely nice and accommodating. Highly recommend renting from him in the future! I know my friends and I would love to again next year.
Conveniently located to skiing, outlet malls, restaurants, mountains and the beach. The property is located in Wakefield, NH.
