About Beckie Lantz

We are a growing family of 4 who fell in love with eastern Oregon! We lived out there for just over two years and moved back to the Portland area to be closer to family for the kiddos.

Beckie Lantz purchased this house in 2014

Why Beckie Lantz chose Eastern Oregon

The location of the property was picture perfect and we fell in love right away. We enjoyed horses on the property and even got married in the shop! The views are out of this world and the house just always felt like home. There is something special out there we always look forward to going back and visiting our little piece of paradise! We hope you do too!

What makes this house unique

The home itself isn't like most rentals. Being just 10 min out of town you can enjoy the sound of piece and quiet! There so many stars visible at night and even get a pretty good show of shooting stars most clear days of the week. Being able to swim in the pond in the summer just right outside your door is a piece of heaven and then sledding down the hills in the winter that the empty pond provides is a huge bonus for the kids! There are corrals and fencing to bring out your horses and you can even ride around the open property! This place really has a little bit of everything for someone who is looking to get out of the city and get some country fresh air!

Great place to stay and relax

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful place to stay and play. You get up and look out the front and see the Wallowa Mountains and look out and see the Elkhorn mountains in the back. We had two deer every night we had a cat walking around the yard and we had a bird in the woodstove (which I did save - I opened the door of the woodstove and he flew out the open front door of the house.) The location is great right in the middle of all our trips around the area. The house is so nice and it was great that this time we were able to watch the games and news on the Dish network -which we didn't have last time. Their are homes around but not close so you don't have someone right next to you but you are close to town to get food or eat out- which we did. It had plenty of towels and kitchen items for use. There wasn't any soap in the bathrooms but I always bring some with me. We will be back. Sandy

Nice roomy house!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed there two nights for a wedding! The house was roomy and a good place for young children. There is a loft that is considered a sleeping space for two. The ladder is difficult to negotiate at night and there are no windows so I think in the summer it is not as usable. The house was clean but there were many cobwebs. We enjoyed our stay and Beckie was very helpful and answered all of my questions quickly! I would recommend this house.

Amazing Country Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We spent six days at the George House and wish we could have stayed! We loved our time on the lake canoeing, swimming, and floating around on air mattresses. We saw beautiful wildlife every day such as deer, heron, hawks, and even a coyote! It was quiet, serene, and a perfect get away for my husband and I with our three kids. We made several day trips into Baker City, Sumpter, and Haines and had several long runs and bike rides on the country roads. Absolutely breathtaking!

The house was fully equipped and very clean. We needed a little more TP than what was provided (family of 5 for 6 days...) but had pretty much everything else we have at home. The laundry (and provided detergent) was so great to have. My kids enjoyed the games, coloring books, and video games. Great movie selection!

The only thing that would make the George house absolutely perfect is a BBQ and a working oven. With such beauty outside (and heat), we would have preferred to BBQ outside. We resorted to the oven, and the oven thermometer and fan were both not working, so it smoked up the whole house, not to mention heated it up even more than the 90 degree heat outside.

Thank you for such a wonderful stay! We hope to be back!
