My husband Gary and I met in Brevard 30 years ago. We have been renovating homes in and around Brevard for the last 23 years. We both enjoy bringing back to life homes that have been neglected and somewhat 'remuddled' This one has heart and the benefit of being walking distance to the wonderful town of Brevard.
Susie Wells purchased this bungalow in 1995
This wonderful little home is a true pleasure! It is tucked back from the road, on a lovely street, off the beaten path. The floor plan is a bit unusual: Living, Bedroom and Full Bath are on entry level. Kitchen, Dining, Laundry, Full bath, Porch and Deck are Downstairs. Kitchen is totally renovated! Lots of Charm!
Quiet neighborhood, lots of character and walking distance to town.
Very nice cottage in a quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed it. We even saw two white squirrels outside of cottage. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I recently stayed in Brevard for the weekend. The house was just perfect! Everything we needed was right there and very well maintained. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be booking again!
Enjoyed my week exploring the area and the location was perfect for walking to town. Very quite, safe neighborhood. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfy. Just felt at home the minute I walked through the door. The space is more than adequate for a couple or a single person. Would love to stay there again!
This is a great little cottage in the heart of Brevard. My husband and I spent a week there and hope to rent there again. The neighborhood is quiet, the house is comfortable and well-equipped. There is a nice deck for outdoor meals and relaxation. It's an easy walk to most restaurants, shops, and even yoga. There is wonderful hiking in the area and Asheville is a quick drive down the road. We have stayed in both of Susie's rentals and already have a third trip planned. Highly recommend.
A near perfect spot as it's walkable to the Main Street in Brevard. Safe and quiet neighbourhood. Large garden sloping down to a small stream. Perfect for a couple and their dog. Susie and Gary have renovated this little cottage really nicely. No clutter and plenty of character. Two bathrooms and a perfectly adequate kitchen - all of which were immaculate. Susie stocks the bathroom with nice quality shampoos and body washes which is a great touch. The A/C was efficient and cooling on hotter days.
This was our second stay and we'd love to return.
We have rented about a dozen homes in the Brevard area since 1987 and the Wells cottage is by far the best. The home was comfortable, clean, within walking distance to downtown Brevard and convenient to all nearby attractions. Most everything you need the owners have thought of to make your stay enjoyable. Mr. Wells has to be a first class craftsman to have renovated the downstairs on his own. Most all of the interior appears new with attention to detail and tastefully decorated. The only thing we would suggest is a king size bed for taller folks like me (6'5”), otherwise we enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return soon.
