Springs are beautiful with desert flowers in bloom. Summers are warm with low humidity. Autumn is magnificent with its colors. Winters are mild with average daytime temperatures in the 50s to 60s. So, anytime is the perfect time to visit this unique part of Southern Utah!
My wife (Bridget) is from North Wales and I (Gordon) grew up in Southern California. We moved to Utah 34 years ago raising a family of five children. Zion National Park has been a favorite vacation destination along with beautiful Lake Powell.
We have managed a vacation home in the Park City, Utah area for over ten years. Recently, we sold that property and feel fortunate to have found the perfect home, centrally located, to enjoy the beauty and grandeur of Southern Utah - particularly Zion National Park and the many diverse sites in the surrounding area.
Gordon Harkness purchased this villa in 2015
We made numerous trips to this area looking for a comfortable home that our children and grandchildren would want to visit and that we could share with travelers eager to experience what we have enjoyed through the years. We chose to name it Casa de Zion (House of Zion). We promise that we will do everything we can to make your visit a most pleasant and memorable vacation!
This home is just 9 years old and has all of the amenities you would expect to find in an upscale vacation home. We are located on a bluff overlooking Hurricane Valley with the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area across the street from our home. So, you are above and away from the city and yet you have the convenience of restaurants, parks, a first class community pool, groceries stores, etc. within minutes. With our 10 years of experience in the vacation rental business, we feel we have anticipated all of the features and services you would desire in a home away from home.
We were a group of 20 friends for hiking and sight-seeing. This house is conveniently located to go to Zion Canyon (Springdale) and Kolob Canyon. There are large restaurants nearby that can hold large groups. With 6 bedrooms upstairs and the theater room and sitting room downstairs, all having doors to close, we were able to sleep 8 married couples with privacy. The kitchen and living room area provided ample space and facility for eating and socializing. The luxurious interior of the downstairs and the gorgeous mountain view from the patio immediately set the pleasant socializing environment. Many members of my group wish to come back to this house for another year. The owners, Gordon and Bridget, are nice and very helpful.
Staying at Bridget and Gordon's house was the perfect vacation spot for my family. The pictures didn't prepare us for how spacious and beautiful the property is! The kitchen is fully stocked, pool was a great temperature even in October, and the beds are comfortable. The house is very organized and clean. Great location! Close to the grocery store and many restaurants. Comfortable drive to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. My family and I wished we had booked the house for several more days. We all had a great stay. Thanks Bridget and Gordon!
Gordon and Bridget Harkness have an incredibly beautiful home and are phenomenal people! My now husband and I rented this home for our wedding weekend to house our family and it could not have been more perfect! Any questions I had from the minute we walked in, to the moment we were leaving, the Harkness' contacted us back right away! If visiting Utah, especially Zion National Park, Casa de Zion is the home to rent. Thank you again, this was our first Homeaway experience and we couldn't be happier!
A group of us (8 adults and one infant) stayed in Bridget and Gordon's place for 3 nights in Sept. 2016.
We all really enjoyed their beautiful and spacious home. enjoyed the use of the pool, jacuzzi , game room and the theater room. It was kept clean and most every thing needed was available. communication was great.
couple of us would have liked the mattresses to be a little firmer.
And it would be useful to remind the guests to leave the cover of the jacuzzi and pool off a few hours before use, to get the strong smell of chlorine out.
This house is alot beutiful than the pictures show. It has all the amenities that you will need we love the house nothing to complain about everything was perfect all my family love it
Our family of 14 had an amazing time at this beautiful home near Zion National Park! The pool was perfect for those hot summer afternoons and we had more than enough space for everyone to sleep. It was such a beautiful home and location; thanks so much!
