About this property

Heavenly retreat on Lake Memphremagog near Jay Peak and Burke Mountain

Completely unwind in this spectacular all season, waterfront home on lake Memphremagog. You can play all day, hiking, biking, skiing and enjoy glorious sunsets from the dock, spacious living room or master bedroom. The sounds of lapping water will lull you to sleep.

This waterfront home is on a point of land reaching out into lake Memphremagog just below the Canadian border. It is extremely private with a beach, lawn, a large dock and deck. It borders almost 1000 acres of US and Canadian preserve with walking paths. There is also a five mile long bike path that will take you to the town of Newport, perfect for biking or walking. Or you can cross the border and the path will take you about 20 miles into Canada. The paths are also great for X-country skiing and are groomed by a local ski association. There's plenty to do in every season, great restaurants, biking, tennis, watersports (you can moor your boat right to our dock), and hiking. The house is about 40 minutes from Jay Peak or Burke Mountain. You can also explore the Quebec's quaint Eastern Townships just over the border.

Included with the house are 2 paddle boards, 3 single kayaks and 2 two-person kayaks for your use.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING THE SUMMER, WE ONLY RENT SUNDAY TO SUNDAY.

Beautiful Lake House
We had a awesome week at Nina's house. It's a great location near the bike path. It has a sheltered sandy beach that's great for young kids. We were happy to stay their for our third year in a row

Idyllic lake getaway
Beautiful and conveniently located lakefront home with a small beach perfect for little kids. Great hiking and biking trails close by and a spot to moor the boat right off the dock. Remote enough for some R&R, but close enough to downtown Newport to easily access restaurants and shops. We had a great stay!

Great location on the Lake I grew up on.
Great outdoor decks and docks right on the Lake to enjoy with my Family. The Dining Room addition was a great enhancement. The Smart TV on first floor allowed me to mirror my IPhone to share a Video Tribute I created for my Mom’s Memorial Service. A+ location and well maintained home that is 100 years old. The Host (Nina Farber) was always available and very flexible with our change of plans.

We purchased this home in 2015 after having a beautiful camp on Lake Willoughby for 8 years. We fell in love with the Northeast Kingdom and decided we wanted a year round home to enjoy all it's pleasures. We never thought we'd find anything spot as glorious and peaceful as our place on Lake Willoughby, but so far we have not looked back. We hear nothing but the wind through the trees on this dead end street that abuts the Canadian border. One one side of our house is water while on the other is a 1000 acre preserve running into Canada. It is truly heaven on earth.

Why they chose this property

We love all the peaceful, flat walking paths and the easy access to great hiking, cross country and downhill skiing while still being close to all the amenities we could desire. We have also fallen in love with the great restaurants serving locally grown food. Our house on Lake Willoughby was passed down through the generations from my great grandfather and we thought we'd never leave it, but this is truly a step up and now that we have an easily accessible year round home we hope to retire in the NEK!
