Great value for a cozy comfortable cabin with fantastic views

  • 5 of 5

Six of us stayed at the cabin while doing some work in the adjacent Apache Sitgreaves National Forest. We were very impressed with the spacious bedrooms, kitchen with all the amenities, and the overall comfortable living arrangements inside and out. It certainly felt like a home away from home. We would definitely consider staying here again!

Beautiful place and so much room!

  • 5 of 5

Truly exceeded all of my expectations and more. We are from Tucson, my family and I travelled up north for the weekend for an elk hunt. The boys came back hungry! The barbecue was perfect and the kitchen was roomy. It had all the essentials to whip up a big meal and so much living space to relax after. The walk in concrete room has huge windows with amazing views. Our dog loved sitting there and watching the horses at the next lot. I'm sure my 2 year old appreciated the toys and games available too. I truly loved how this home had extra baby clothes, if needed, a crib with a huge fluffy bunny, and a changing pad. We all loved it and the owners are super easy to contact and work with. My family and I are already planning next years trip and plan to reserve this again!

Perfect Family Fishing Trip

  • 5 of 5

Sometimes owners post all the perfectly lit, filtered, and cropped photos, so when you arrive, you're slightly disappointed. When we arrived for our long weekend, we were blown away by how beautiful and well-appointed this cabin actually is - better, I think, than the photos show!

Three families gathered here to celebrate two big birthdays, surprising the guys with a fishing trip for the weekend. We almost didn't want to leave the cabin. The kids played in the sun room with the thousands of toys, explored the overgrown gardens out back, and even hiked up the ridge behind the property. We cooked up a storm, never eating out once, and played cards and had a lot of laughs in the living and dining rooms. Fireside cocktails on a chilly night were the perfect way to unwind after the kids ran off to bed in the Bear Room, where I'm sure they stayed up playing for another hour, haha. There were even perfect accommodations for our big fur baby.

The fishing was okay... We caught a couple at Hulsey Lake and a couple at Nelson. Perhaps next time we'll trek a little farther to follow some of the owner's recommendations. There WILL be a next time!!!

I did have one question for the owners, and they did respond promptly. My only suggestions to others would be to bring your own knives if you plan to cook much. While the kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING and more, I had a hard time without my own sharp knives.

Thanks for a weekend we'll never forget!

Perfect fit for our family

  • 4 of 5

We use VRBO quite often and have had few disappointments. This year we arranged our annual family retreat, quality time with our 2 grown daughters, their spouses, a grandson, Chaser - the golden retriever and 'Grampa'. This property was spacious and offered all the comforts of home from the kitchen to the ability to have a quiet place to read or nap. Something for everyone. We enjoy trout fishing and tried most of the local lakes/streams with some success but the weather had kept those outings to a minimum. The younger group did some hiking and exploring the area. We made the most of our time and enjoyed each other completely. Patricia the caretaker/maid, met us at the property and offered her help for any issues during the week. Because the trash pickup is Wednesday, the dumpsters on the property were packed when we arrived. Patricia came over and removed the trash after a day or two to allow room for us. The upstairs bedrooms are quite hot so I recommend taking a window fan or two, also their are no screens, so we precooled for a better night sleep. Overall the property was as listed, the grounds faced a pretty mountain range and it was close to a lot of activities. We would definitely consider returning to this property.

Quiet, serene, peaceful

I loved waking up to the breathtaking view of the escudilla mtn from the stained glass window. The concrete dog room was an added bonus for our pooch. I had my family over for dinner and my grandmother especially enjoyed the wooden rockers in the foyer.
