Better than hotel

  • 5 of 5

I will definitely looking to use a Stay Alfred on upcoming business trips instead of a typical hotel.

great first time

  • 5 of 5

First time using Stay Alfred, and everything went smoothly and was a very nice experience compared to a hotel stay and at a great price.

Great for Conference

  • 5 of 5

Very close to the Sheraton on Canal Street (location of my conference) - a lot of space, great location to many restaurants and easy uber ride to other parts of town. Although close to French Quarter, it was quiet. I had a great stay and would stay in the unit again.

Jazz Fest

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to New Orleans and it was during Jazz Fest. The apartment was in an ideal location for walking through the French Quarter (it is just across Canal Street from the French Quarter), catching the street cars, shopping at the mall, visiting the aquarium and butterfly sanctuary, and catching the shuttle to the Jazz Fest grounds (the shuttle runs from the Sheraton a 1/2 block away). The apartment itself is nicely decorated with a small living room area, a huge bathroom with laundry facilities, bedroom and kitchen. Access was very simple as they use a lockbox system with a fob. We had the misfortune to arrive the day that the building pool was shut down for repairs and Stay Alfred went out of their way to accommodate us at the outdoor space at another building close by where they have apartments. Excellent service. Friendly, fast and a "make it happen" attitude. We would definitely rent from Stay Alfred again. The only thing to note is that they own several apartments in each building, so the apartment does not necessarily look exactly like the photo (ours was a different layout from the photo), but it is the same style and quality. (They do say this on the listing too.)

Not as seen in pictures

  • 2 of 5

Be careful... The company has many units in the building. Ours was not as shown in the pictures here. No kitchen bar, no exposed brick, much smaller. Apparently this is disclosed in the paperwork but we did not notice it and were dissapointed.

Good Canal St Location, Misleading Amenities

  • 4 of 5

This unit is well laid out and clean. It's window's are internal facing so there's not a lot of natural light, but it also means they don't face Canal St., so you don't get all night noise. The location is prime: right on the southern edge of the French Quarter and the northern edge of the CBD.

I was a little put off that the roof pool and common area was closed. One of the reasons I booked the place was to have a space to relax outside and take a dip while on vacation. So, be warned, you're getting a nice unit but you're not getting the roof, pool, or common areas. For the amount I paid that was disappointing.
