A Modern Spacious Kitchen awaits you with a cozy Bay Window and an island with comfortable barstools that will help keep the party going and the chef accompanied. The Master Bedroom with a private porch and a romantic round Jacuzzi for two is unique. Of course the house is fully air conditioned. Finally, the ocean views from the pool and the second and third floor balconies are magnificent! Add the amenities that Palmas has to offer,like golf, Tennis, Beach Club, Equestrian Center, golf cart paths, Casino and you can sense how fantastic this place and your vacation will be. This house was built with all the comfort and amenities that an Owner ('me') felt were indispensable to enjoy the" Good Life".

Garden and green areas: Our house has 5,000 sq. ft of living area and is built on a one half acre of land bordering a very large green area. We grow on the property Orange, Great-fruit, Guava, Mango, Banana and Lemon trees. We also have beautiful orquids by the pool. The fruit from these trees attract all kinds of birds which chirp you to sleep and to wake up.(No roosters, thank God). We also border a large green area with lush vegetation and even a stream. A very special area for those who love the outdoors.

The technical features of the house: Our home is equipped with several technical features which can come in handy if for some reason (not common) there is a system wide problem with utilities. It has a large (30 amp) generator that will power the whole house (including most of the air conditioners) in the event of a power outage. This generator has an automatic transfer switch which will turn it on automatically when the power goes out and turn it off when it comes back. We also have a 25,000 gallon cistern that can be used if the water supply from the water utility is shut down (again not common ). The kitchen is equipped with a reverse osmosis water filter which supplies purified water to the sink in the kitchen and to the refrigerator (no need to buy water at the store!). While the above facilities may not be necessary, they could come in very handy should the unlikely situation arise. Again this house was built as a home for my family and not as an investment.

About Jose Beauchamp

Born and grew up in P.R. Studied at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Earned a law degree from the University of P.R. and a masters degree in law from the University of London. I retired when I was 55 years old except that I currently run the rental of my house, which sometimes is a full time job!! I live with my girlfriend, Lissette, who is the editor of the magazine Live and Life in Palmas. You can go to the magazine's web site and find out more about our resort She also has developed a web site about Palmas which gives the tourist an excellent view into the resort. We live in Palmas (of course), about one mile from the rental property.

Why Jose Beauchamp chose Puerto Rico

I actually had the house built for my family with the idea of living in it, which I did for 16 years. That is why the house has so many amenities (it was not built as an investment but as a home for me and my family). The reason I chose Palmas del Mar to build my house was that It was, and is, a resort combined with a community. It is by the sea, with beaches, and other amenities like golf, tennis, horsebackriding, boating, etc. It has two marinas with sailboats for hire, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, not to mention the 12 restaurants, hotel with casino. In short, it is a little town where many of the homeowners travel by golf carts or jog on the paths. What's not to like? Oh, I forgot security. It is a gated community with security guards constantly patroling the areas. Palmas is such a special place that we have just bought a condo by the beach to rent short term(listing .3614337).

What makes this house unique

The location of the house gives it a beautifull view of the ocean and the island of vieques. The living area, including the rooms face the eastern view and most of the time will receive the tradewinds which come from the east. Kids love this house with the pool, jacuzzi and game room. I guess I'm basically a kid too because I love this house also!!

The most beautiful and comfortable mansion!

Totally Gorgeous, spacious, and comfortable Mansion!!! I went for my daughter's 15th Birthday - we had a great time! In an exclusive and very safe neighborhood. I had a total of 7 girls all 15 year olds and I had no problems letting them roam around - that's how safe we felt. We played very loud music at like 3 in the morning and there were absolutely no neighbors nearby that could hear our music much less complain about it. As other people mentioned in their reviews, a few minor issues arose with the plumbing but once I texted Rudy, he immediately sent someone to fix it, and I mean immediately. I would definitely go back and stay there. I did notice the bathrooms (not that they were dirty) but could have used a better detergent (perhaps something with bleach in it) but in general I have no complaints. In reading other peoples review's the owner Jose sounds like an amazing person. Unfortunately, I did not get to meet him, but maybe next time. Rudy was extremely nice and friendly.

AMAZING! PERFECTION!

Our experience in Puerto Rico would not have been complete without our stay at Palmas del Mar. It was a full house, all 16 of us could not have asked for a better vacation. The pleasant welcoming from Rudy was a great kick start to what was a memorable stay. Everything from the peaceful location, breathtaking view and comfortable accommodations exceeded our expectations. We would not think twice to book this Villa again. There was not a day that we did not take advantage of all that the home had to offer. We especially enjoyed the pool and Jacuzzi that was well maintained throughout the week. Thank you Jose Beauchamp and Rudy for your hospitality - this was definitely a dream come true.

Nice place perfect for family

This is a home that the owner has opened up for a vacation rental. Along with a home things happen. Disposal backs up, dryer stops heating, toliet runs, Cable issues. However as soon as you let them know, it is fixed. The house can only be as good as the renters before it (like all vacation places). I would stay here again simply because of the attention given when needed. Private area, make as much noise as you want or enjoy the views and the quiet. Clean, safe, comfortable!

Wonderful Time!

We have just returned from a fabulous week at José Beauchamp’s spectacular house at beautiful Palmas del Mar, Puerto Rico. Enough positive adjectives for you in one sentence? Really, it was that good and we enjoyed ourselves that much.

We were greeted by José at the house along with his property manager, Rudy Nurse. He familiarized us with the house and its workings and pointed out a loose-leaf binder of instructions and important phone numbers, including Rudy’s. The few things that needed attention—a couple of burned-out lightbulbs, the automatic pool cleaner restarting—were addressed promptly and efficiently with a phone call to Rudy.

And what a house it is! It was clean, the beds were made and everything was ready for us. It consists of three levels, the main living area which includes the living and dining rooms, large eat-in kitchen and, at the other end, two bedrooms with bath. The kitchen is fully applianced and, off it, there is a laundry room. All living areas are air-conditioned. The living and dining rooms open to a comfortable balcony that overlooks the kidney-shaped pool and hot tub below and, in the distance, the resort, the Caribbean Sea and the island of Vieques. Tropical perfection!

In addition to the pool and hot tub, the lower level has another bedroom with bath, a bar and barbeque area, all across from a playroom with a pool table, foosball and separate sitting area with flat-screen TV. The pool area is complemented by a hammock chair, a table and chairs and chaise lounges.

As for the third level of the house, at the top of the stairs you come to a small bedroom with bunk beds, which proved popular with two of our grand kids. At the far end, there is yet another bedroom with a queen and its own bath and terrace. In between is the spectacular master bedroom and bath. As you enter, to your right is a dramatically lighted king-sized canopy bed and side tables. There is a flat screen TV. Double doors open to your own terrace offering the same view of Vieques described above. The dramatic bathroom offers privacy, surrounded by windows with a view of sun, sky and clouds. It contains a hot tub, his and her sinks across from each other and a separate room for the toilet and shower.

We were 11 people, six adults and five grandchildren. The house and its amenities accommodated us beautifully.

As I said, we had a wonderful stay. Check it out!

Great pool!

Make no mistake, this house has great bones, however it has not been maintained and on our recent stay, it shows. First, if you are expecting white glove clean, look elsewhere. It wasn't horribly dirty, but just not up to my standards. Lots of little things were broken such as: the oven (only worked on convection setting and I do not know how to convert regular time to convection time), the A/C in our room was broken for about a day and a half, our shower head didn't work upon arrival. The next day it was replaced with a new one that gave "a heavy trickle" of water. The shower leaked from somewhere behind the wall into the other part of the bathroom and we always had lots of water on the floor. Little things like lamps were broken, dryer vent disconnected, heater on hot tub didn't work, garage door broken, and more things like that. He knew we were coming so I thought everything would have been in tip top shape. We usually stay at hotels and I was expecting the same level of upkeep. The house I think claims to sleep 12-14 or something like that. The pool is by far the best part of the house, however there are only 5 lounge chairs so everyone else either has to sit upright in a regular chair or on the ground on a towel. Oh, that's another thing, there were no beach towels provided. We used bath towels, which made for plenty of daily laundry. One of the bedrooms (on the pool level) is not actually "in" the house. What I mean by this is when we locked the house at night, the people sleeping in that bedroom could not get in. No one wanted this bedroom and it became a real problem. The game room on the same level was pretty dirty as well. We could not get the stereo system to work that is supposed to connect to the outdoor speakers. The kitchen lacked some pretty basic necessities such as kitchen dish towels, pot holders (we had to use hand towels from the bathroom to get our food out of the oven), a pasta strainer, a FULL set of measuring cups and spoons (there were a few, but of course not the one's we needed). The oven was extremely old and dirty. We were told to turn the A/C off when we leave the house. This seems crazy from a renters perspective. We ended up giving a long list of things to fix to the owner. Again, it wasn't horrible, just don't expect the Ritz, or anything comparable (not even as nice and clean as any Marriott I've stay at). If the owner put about $100,000 into this property it would be a gem!

Owner's Response: I am letting my prior renters speak for me: “Awesome Owner, awesome house”, “Loved the house and the neighborhood”, “Spacious lovely home”, “Amazing home, wonderful vacation”, “Best vacation home”, “What a wonderful experience”, “ A little Slice of paradise”, etc. Those were the expressions of some of our renters who wrote reviews for our home. In view of such glowing reviews, I'm sorry but I can’t understand your review. I will not go into each one of your claims which I consider inaccurate. I will only touch on two of the most glaring flaws:. You unfairly used the Ritz as a standard for the comparison of our home (but you did not in your analysis consider the difference in rates) and you claimed that one of our bedrooms was not in the house, which is a totally inaccurate statement. The bedroom is on the ground floor of the house and is next to the pool. Most renters prefer that room because of its privacy and location. I’m really sorry that you did not enjoy the house the way others did. NOTE: I am forced to clarify my response as many people have overlooked 27 excellent reviews in favor of one person’s views which unfortunately was, in my opinion, highly inaccurate to say the least. An example of some of these inaccuracies are: the Jacuzzi worked perfectly but like all Jacuzzi’s it took a while to heat up the water; the shower did nor leak, any water on the floor was probably the result of a shower curtain not properly closed; no lamps were broken (one or two were unplugged); the garage doors were all in working order; the stereo system worked perfectly, maybe they did not understand it and didn’t tell us; all kitchen necessities were in a drawer which obviously was not opened; we had a full set of measuring cups but apparently they needed other sizes not included in the regular set; etc. The few things that malfunctioned while they were there were fixed according to her own statement. The only exception was the oven which we had to send for a part in the States (it has since been repaired). Regarding turning off the air conditioners while not in the house, electricity is incredibly expensive in PR (bills for our house average between $2,000 and $3,000 monthly)). Given this fact we don’t think that it’s unreasonable to ask, not require. energy conservation (we do have 8 air conditioners in the house!). You admitted that the house was not “horribly dirty, just not to my standards….”just not the Ritz” Perhaps your standards. were unreasonable.

Spacious home

The home was beautiful! Rudy, the manager of the property, was wonderful! He was helpful and always available to answer questions/address concerns that arose during our stay. Jose, the owner of the house, was also very nice and accommodating. There was plenty of room for our group of adults and children. The pool was well maintained and was enjoyed by our whole family. We loved hearing the wildlife every night before we went to bed.

Notes:
The house is wheelchair accessible via ramp to the pool area (game room, bathroom, bedroom and pool. There is a second ramp that leads from the garage to the 1st floor where the kitchen and Dinning area are, as well as 2 of the bedrooms and 2 of the baths. I was the owner of a home medical equipment company and became sensitized to the special needs of the elderly.
