About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6-8

A gorgeous A-frame cabin on 2.5-acres is located in Parks just off Historic Route 66 between Flagstaff and Williams (Gateway to the Grand Canyon). Two sides of the property border the Kaibab National Forrest. It is an excellent retreat from the heat in the summer and snow play in the winter. Enjoy historic downtown Flagstaff and home of NAU just 17 miles away. The drive to the Grand Canyon is less than one hour. Points of interest within 30 minute drive are Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon & Slide Rock State Park, Williams, Kaibab Lake, Bearizona, and Arizona Snowbowl ski lodge. Places to see in the Parks area include the Lava Tube Caves, Sycamore Canyon, Key Hole Sink, Deer Farm and Oak Hill Snow Play Area. There are many great quad and dirt bike trails. Other activities include hiking, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, golfing, skiing, dinning, shopping, sightseeing and star gazing.

Description of the Cabin: Our 2-story cabin is 2035 sq. ft. with 3 bedrooms (2 master bedrooms) with beds for 7 people. A futon and two hide-away single beds can be used for maximum occupancy of 10. The cabin is beautifully decorated in a Cowboy & Indian theme and Southwest art. The lower master suite has a queen bed, satellite TV, private deck facing the forest and a private bathroom. The 2nd story master bedroom has a king size bed. The 3rd bedroom has a bunk bed and single twin. The 2nd bathroom is on the upper level. The loft is a great play area for children with a TV for video games, toys and board games. The Loft has a futon that converts into a standard size bed with an additional vanity sink. The living area has leather furniture, satellite TV and DVD player. The dining area has a bay window looking over the pines, comfortably seats 8 but will hold 10 people. The kitchen is well equipped with service for 10. The laundry room has a washer and dryer. The large deck has patio furniture, gas heater and gas grill.

On-Site Amenities: A large circular driveway provides room a RV or toy hauler. There is an awesome play ground fort for the little ones and a fire pit perfect for toasting marshmallows under the stars. Special detail went into the décor such as hand carved bear cubs climbing a pole that supports the loft, Hopi Indian and South American one-of-kind art pieces. Oak Hill Snow Play Area (1 mile away) has 2 main sledding areas. Directly across the street (Route 66) is Key Hole Sink where you can see petroglyph drawings. The Deer Farm (2 miles away) is perfect for the little ones. Bearizona and Kaibab Lake is 8 miles away. This is the kind of vacation retreat you will come back to again and again.

Activities and Attractions: Historical Flagstaff has many multi-cultural restaurants, great shopping and art galleries. Lowell’s Observatory and Meteor Creator are near Flagstaff. During the winter months there is downhill skiing at Snowbowl. From spring to fall, take a ride to Sedona's Red Rock Canyon and Oak Creek Canyon. While there, hop on a Pink Jeep Tour or Hot Air Balloon ride over some of the most beautiful and unique scenery in our country. During the summer, pack a cooler and enjoy a day at Slide Rock State Park where kids slide along the rocks and adults’ sunbath or catch up on their reading while lounging on the many levels of flat rock formations along the creek. In less than one hour you can be at the Grand Canyon hiking or riding a mule to Indian Gardens. The city of Williams has the Grand Canyon Railway featuring the Polar Express during the winter months, many fun restaurants, an indoor skate board park and Native American shopping

About Gina Day

Hello! My name is Gina and I love to travel. With that said, I try to stock our cabin home with just about everything you need to make your trip easy, fun and relaxing. I keep active and enjoy new experiences when I travel so I provide lists of things to do or place to see in the surrounding towns for our renters. Renters from out of state or the country especially appreciate this as it helps them make the most of their time in northern Arizona. Even Arizonians appreciate this because they don’t realize how much there is to do up here and it is constantly changing and improving.

I also love to cook so I keep the kitchen stocked with items to simplify meal preparations so you can enjoy more time having fun and relaxing but still enjoy a home cooked meal.

Our family keeps busy in the city so when we come up to the cabin, we unplug and reconnect with each other. For this reason, do not have Wi-Fi but we do have satellite TV, DVDs and board games for all ages.

Gina Day purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Gina Day chose Arizona

We built this cabin with love and it took 2.5 years. We completed it in 2006 and we are constantly making improvements. We wanted a place to take our children so we could relax and enjoy all the natural beauty of northern Arizona. We love to snow ski and board and have hiked the Grand Canyon to Phantom Ranch, Indian Gardens and from south rim to north rim countless times.

We also love hanging out in historical down town Flagstaff...there is always something going on. Flagstaff is clean, safe and has unique and wonderful restaurants and shops to visit. We also enjoy Williams for the same reasons. We decided to rent out our cabin because we wanted to share all this with others so they would have a nice place to take their family and friends at the best possible price.

Although we are in the Kaibab National Forest (it really is our back yard), and because of our exact location, you can quickly and easily drive in any direction and find fun and adventure. Our cabin sits at 7,000 feet so if it snows in Flagstaff, it will snow on our property. So many renters have told us a stay at our cabin was the first time their children played in snow. Children and adults love this is MAGICAL!

What makes this cabin unique

What makes our cabin so unique is the location. We are minutes to Interstate 40 and walking distance to Historical Route 66. The town of Parks and Williams will remind you of the Disney movie “Cars”, right down to the historical 76 Station that serves up great breakfast burritos and sandwiches.

The national forest service gave us permission to install a gate on their fence so you may easily walk into the Kaibab National Forest and if you look close enough, you may find horney toads. They really do look like miniature dinosaurs! Elk and deer are a common site while sitting on the deck or driving through town, especially at dusk.

The cabin is clean and decorated with local art and comfortable furniture so guests feel as if they are somewhere special. I can only assume all this explains our repeat clientele base and we feel blessed they choose to return to our cabin.

The best cabin in AZ.

The perfectly detailed directions guided us straight to the cabin of our dreams! The front steps led to a spacious wrap-around deck that embraced every minute we spent enjoying the view and fresh air. The grandiose front entrance is shared with a cozy living room, a spacious dining/sitting area and full (and meticulously clean) kitchen with a convenient center island. Tucked privately downstairs we found the master bedroom/suite. Every nook and cranny had a personal touch of woodsy decor and provided a full view of the Kabaib National Forrest outside. Upstairs included 2 extra fully furnished bedrooms and an entertainment loft for video games and comfy reading. Our kids (13 mos, 8 and 9) enjoyed every second while gathering firewood as a family, climbing/running/jumping on the high-quality playground, roasting marshmallows at the firepit, watching dvds, dancing in the falling snow, drinking hot-chocolate, and playing board-games. We hope to make this cabin an annual (if not semi-annual) family tradition.

The lights were on and it looked absolutely amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in this cabin was nothing short of PERFECT!!! From The homey touches to the hand written notes all around the house. I would say that not having service on any of our phones was a downfall, for our kids, (18,16,13 and 7) but because of how AMAZING this property is they didn't even complain. For the first time in years that I've seen them laugh and play together! This was an absolutely amazing getaway for us and we would recommend it to any and all of our friends!!! Thank you so much for allowing us into your little slice of heaven, it is truly magical.

Great cabin in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We spent new years at the cabin and it was a great time. The location is perfect and there is a lot of land for the kids to play in the snow throughout the trip. The cabin itself has a great layout and is very well maintained. The open floor plan downstairs is great for families celebrating a holiday or event. I highly recommend this cabin and will definitely be booking again in the future.

The biggest problem was, we didn't want to leave...

  • 5 of 5

The biggest issue with this cabin was... we had to struggle to leave it to explore the awesome things around us that we'd traveled there to explore. It was just so easy to curl under one of the many cozy blankets while my 2 children happily explored the large yard & playground. My son was thrilled to find fallen branches & pine needles so he could put to use information he'd learned to build a shelter (pine needles not being prevalent at home). I still think one of the biggest highlights was enjoying lunch on the deck & following it up with dessert s'mores on the fire pit, where they loved finding more pine needles & twigs to toss in to keep it burning. The kids talk about wanting to go back frequently & they easily could have spent a whole day just playing outside.

We really needed an extra few days (which sadly, our schedule didn't allow) so we could just hang out & relax. We were there for 3 nights & hiked the Petroglyphs trail only a mile away (so beautiful on a crisp cool morning, with the fall leaves changing color), went to the Grand Canyon, hiked the Lava River Cave, visited the Lowell observatory...

I recommend not arriving very late (as we did, as we couldn't resist sunset in Sedona), or having some bright light handy if you do. The gate you go through to get here has a simple latch, but in the dark, it's difficult to see how it works. You'll also need to see the keypad to get in. The only issue was by the time I could shower, the water suddenly stopped working (of course, I'm only wearing a towel when this happens & am exhausted). I thought it was a big issue b/c the kids had showered (upstairs) just fine & I was downstairs. I called the owners, they answered promptly (even though late), & they were confused why only one would work. I went upstairs to shower only to find THAT water gone. I was about ready to cry (exhausted, & cold by now, cuz towel). Thankfully I'd read a review about the water not working (at all) before I'd left and knew at this point something had to be flipped somewhere, & again, owners were very prompt about answering or returning my call within minutes & they talked my husband through the pump thing, close to midnight. That was ONLY issue (b/c so late & tired) & owners were amazing about it.

Cabin was very clean, quiet, secluded, so many blankets, comfy beds & couch, & well-stocked kitchen. Kids ran for hours in yard each AM. We never turned on TVs once. LOVED IT! We want to go back. Highly recommend.

LOVED this beautiful, immaculate, warm and cozy cabin in the pines! We highly recommend this one!

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous, extremely clean, warm and cozy secluded cabin in the pines. Our hosts were extremely kind and helpful. Directions were spot on and we felt right at home. We had everything we needed, cable tv, games, movies,

fire pit with chairs for a large group, extra linens, trails, fully functional kitchen for cooking meals, huge wrap around deck, close to flagstaff and other scenic places. We enjoyed the family time here with our college aged kids

who are home for the Christmas break. Perfect cabin getaway. We would love to return next year! -K and C Taylor

Holiday Haven - Cabin was clean and fully equipped with everything we needed for our holiday retreat

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect cabin to spend the Christmas holiday for a family of 10, which included 2 small children. Not too far from the famed Polar Express. Close enough to enjoy all the local amenities and attractions to include Williams, AZ; Bearizona and deer farm, but secluded enough to appreciate the peaceful serenity of the wilderness. Owners, Gina and David, we so accommodating and made sure all of our questions and needs were addressed promptly.

We would recommend this retreat to anyone seeking a unique, comfortable and truly memorable experience.
