Very quiet and secluded and peaceful. There is also close by a wide selection of fun outdoor activities to do for any season.
We found the cabin clean and well maintained. The owners were very helpful measuring doorways to make sure my wheelchair would make into the bedroom and bathroom.
They also installed the shower seat for me. I was able to access the bathroom to shower and use the facilities. I wasn't able to close the door with my wheelchair in the bathroom but that was a small inconvenience.
We had a very nice holiday with our sons and grandchildren. Cell service was spotty but the wifi worked well. If your looking for a nice, well maintained place to stay I would absolutely recommend this cabin.
Everything was great. Very clean and well equipped for a great get away. The only suggestion would be to post the instructions on how to use the TV/dish. Too many remotes for a non-work weekend
This is a cozy cabin located about 10 minutes from the center of Ohiopyle. It was very clean. I would recommend adding a few more pieces of comfy living room furniture. There's only a narrow couch for everyone to relax on.
Also, there is no phone service out there. When i could not get the finicky lock box to open, i had to drive down the street to call the owner.
But with more furniture, I'd stay here again.
This house is very clean looks brand new. Easily located in Ohiopyle, near many attractions. It's a two bed with 3 queen bed. There are also a gas bbq and a fire pit. The only drawback is we can't find trash bags and enough quilt. The internet was not working on our night. With no cell phone signal, it's hard to contact the owner.
The cabin was very clean, new and comfortable with cool custom wood furniture. It rained nearly our entire stay, which gave us a good opportunity to enjoy the wood burning fireplace. We loved being close to both Fallingwater and fishing on the Youghiogheny River.
We had a special request that the owners accomodated, which we really appreciated. One tip: Make sure you plan ahead--there is a $50 fee for sheets.
Overall it was a great stay and a great weekend getaway.
I was looking for a place to hang out for a night with some friends where we could just be ourselves without bothering anyone. We discovered this place and the owner seemed nice so we booked it. The drive through the back country was very scenic, but our GPS was having trouble keeping up. By the time we reached our destination in the middle of scenic back country. (500 yards down from where the GPS said it was), the cell phone signal was irrecoverably lost - which is exactly what we wanted, until we realized that we wanted to go somewhere and had no clue how to get there! My advice, plan ahead and bring a map. We had to drive at least 5 miles away from the cabin before recovering a single bar of coverage. Also Higher = Colder.
The cabin itself was clean and comfortable. Included in the cabin were two bedrooms that could sleep two adults and three children comfortably. The couch also converted to a bed for two more adults. There was orange juice and coffee in the fridge, though I don't know if that was specifically left for us or just left behind by the previous guest. The beds had liners and pillows, but I'd recommend sheets/blankets and pillowcases. There were also a handful of utensils (forks, plates, etc). The only thing lacking was a hand towel in the bathroom, but we made due with some paper towels that we brought from home. We also had great fun putting together a 500 piece (well, 498 piece) puzzle.
As far as appliances go, there was a full size fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee pot. There was also a flat screen tv connected to a DVD player, as well as a radio. Rustic as it looks, the cabin is climate controlled with a digital thermostat but also has a fireplace (we didn't try to use it). We also discovered a back yard with a fire pit and some logs to sit on, as well as firewood and fire starting supplies. We accessed the property through a key in a lock box in the rear of the building.
The Laurel Highlands / Ohiopyle area offers several activities serving a wide variety of interests, including Falling Water (Frank Lloyd Wright's award winning home), several resorts and a casino within driving distance, as well as white water kayaking and some local watering holes. If we were looking to stay in the area again, we would definitely consider this location! We'd also make sure to let someone know exactly where we were staying, as reaching anyone from the cabin directly is impossible. Overall though, a great experience!
