About Sara Silva

We currently live in the area and often have family and friends come to visit. They always leave with plans to come back and enjoy the lake and the many outdoor activities that are available at our doorstep. Like many New Hampshire residents, we're "out-of -stater's" who grew up visiting the area for camping, hiking, biking, skiing, swimming etc. As we started to raise our family our vacations centered around "lake-living" and the sense of peace it always provides. We hope you'll feel the same.

Sara Silva purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Sara Silva chose East Wakefield

This property is directly on Belleau Lake with it's fine fishing, boating, swimming and spectacular sunsets which can be seen right from the large deck overlooking the lake. Belleau Lake is a 290 acre private lake in the Lakes Region of NH. Its typically a quiet lake with average water craft traffic during peak seasons and weekends, and very little traffic during the week and off season. It is one of the more peaceful lakes in the area which is one of the reasons that we chose it.

What makes this cottage unique

This cottage has been renovated from top to bottom. It's neat and clean and ready for you to come in and make it "home". It is located in East Wakefield and is convenient to Wolfeboro, Conway, North Conway, The Outlets at Settlers Green, Sanford, ME and just over an hour to the White Mountains. During fall foliage and the many fall fairs in the area you can experience what its like to live in New Hampshire among the beauty of the hills and mountains. Take a ride up Rt 153 to Conway during any season and you'll see beautiful scenery and maybe some wildlife. The Cottage is also located just off of Corridor 19 for snowmobiling. The Seven Lakes Snowmobile Club grooms many miles of trails on the NH trail system and from the Cottage you can get to just about anywhere in the state, depending on the amount of snow. In the summer and fall those trails are available to mountain bikers and hikers and also shared by a variety of wildlife. King Pine Ski Area is also located about 15 miles from the Cottage and has a wide variety of outdoor activities during the winter months.

Beautiful, every thing you would ever need

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoyed out stay. Right on the lake, very well equipped. Kids took one of the canoes out for a ride around the lake. Would stay again in a heart beat.

Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Words cannot begin to describe how beautiful and serene the place is. Sara was very welcoming & hospitable providing her contact info, if there was anything needed. This was a 40th birthday gift to my better half; I have to say, he was amazed by the cleanliness, design and layout of the cottage. It was everything that he (we) would have imagined as a beautiful GREAT ESCAPE! Highly recommended & looking forward to renting in the future! THANK YOU Sara!!!!!!!

A microcosm of peace and comfort

  • 5 of 5

There isnt much more to say that hasnt already been said.... the property is lovely. Writing this review a day after departure, my traveling companion and I both say out loud from time to time 'I want to go back to New Hampshire'.

The house does have everything you need. Its setup is perfect for comfort, ease of keep-up, and beauty in its complete simplicity.

The lake is a beautiful oasis of, well, water... and peace whether one navigates the perimeter of the shore, exploring the coves and other sites by way of a kayak or canoe, or immerses themselves completely.

If one needs to leave the property... the supporting community is also lovely. The general store is great for most things needed, and some things that arent necessarily needed (have you tried ketchup flavored potato chips? I am in love). A Hannafords and. Rite Aid are a meander down country roads away.

We were fortunate enough to meet both Steve and Sara. They present as very nice folks who genuinely care about your experience.

We went in as eager renters, but honesty feel like we left as friends.

If life allows, we wouldnt hesitate to come back again.

Owner's Response: Oh my goodness, what a lovely review! We are so happy that you enjoyed your retreat to our cottage. It was nice to see (one of) you out on the lake enjoying the rain in the kayak and we especially enjoyed the video of the canoe "adventure". It was a pleasure to meet you both and to know that we may see you again.

Another amazing weekend on Belleau Lake!

  • 5 of 5

Sara is an excellent host and greeted us with warmth and smiles. We love coming to her cottage on Belleau Lake. The sunsets are perfect and sitting on the dock stargazing was fantastic. We grilled on the deck, sat around the fire pit and made full use of the kayaks and peddle boat. We can't wait to come back again!

Wonderful view

  • 4 of 5

This home is clean and updated but has the feel of a lakeside cabin. It has a large deck with wonderful views of the lake. Lake views can be enjoyed from the living room, dining area, kitchen and master bedroom. The steps down to the lake are well built and easy to navigate. We made great use of the kayaks and canoe. On rainy days, we were glad to enjoy the cozy fireplace. The gravel road in is not a problem and is in great shape. This lakeside community is also a good place for taking a stroll. Very peaceful location. Accommodating owner.

Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed the cottage and the lake. Thank you for the input on the tap water. It does contain minerals and has been tested and shown to be safe and not harmful. We hope you'll consider again for your next vacation.

This is one of the snowiest areas in the State - when we get snow. The cottage has direct access to Corridor 19 which connects to most of the groomed trails throughout the State; Seven Lakes Snowmobile Club is the local club here. As the lakes and ponds freeze access to other parts of the State become available and access to the Maine trail system is also available. There are plenty of destinations to head towards; restaurants, Wolfeboro, NH, Poor Boys Pub, Castle in the Clouds etc. There's a network of clubs that groom all of the major corridors and side trails all the way up to the US border - snow conditions and property owner permissions are a factor. All clubs require that snowmobilers abide by all of the rules especially staying on the trails. We've found that most corridors aren't open unti there is ample snow to groom, so check with us for conditions. Here's a NH map of the corridor system with many of the signs and legends; https://www.nhstateparks.org/uploads/pdf/NH_Snowmobile-Corridor_Map.pdf

One can also check out the NH Parks & Recreation's website for conditions and trail etiquette at; https://www.nhstateparks.org/about-us/Trails/

Hope to see you soon!! Think Snow

A one month rental is for a total of any four consecutive weeks. We've chosen the the lowest level of insurance offered because this is a new home with new systems and appliances. Rather than ask for a security deposit, which would be added to the rental cost, taxed, and then refunded, this provides the best low cost, less headache option for both parties. Also, the Governor of the State of NH, requires 9% on all vacation rentals to balance his budget!! He thanks you very much for you support!!
