Prose Haven: Welcoming, Engaging and Unique

Love books? Love 1800’s quirky homes? Love mysteries? Mystery solved! Prose Haven was the perfect setting for our Coastal Maine adventure. Maureen provided everything we hoped for and more. If you want a cookie cutter condo with spa bathroom, 72” screen and granite kitchen, this isn’t for you. BUT if you love books, want suggestions geared to your interests, a kitchen replete with everything you’ll need, comfy beds and within walking distance of Rockland shops, restaurants, galleries and the harbour, this is it. Maureen, our new favourite mystery writer, is a joy. We hope she will continue to share Prose Haven.

Prosehaven

Prosehaven was just right for our vacation. Maureen has anticipated everything a visitor could possibly need, with additional touches that made us feel at home. She was also very attentive and quick to respond to our requests. The location is ideal for short day trips to Pt. Clyde, Camden, Mt. Battie (stunning views), and nearby lakes for swimming. Her advice on finding the best seafood was right on the money. Overall, a relaxing getaway, with the added pleasure of meeting a gracious host.

Felt Like Home

Prosehaven is a lovely old house with many thoughtful touches that make one want to stay for a long time. My husband and I love this sort of place and we immediately felt at home. Rockland and vicinity offer so much and Maureen had a list of restaurants and activities that was very helpful. We were sorry to leave.

We didn't want to leave!

We had a most enjoyable stay. Maureen was a delight. She reviewed the details of the property in advance, and was gracious enough to meet us when we arrived. She was also kind enough to have a bottle of champagne waiting for us to help celebrate our honeymoon. The accommodations were warm and comfortable. The house had everything we needed. In addition to a lot of books she provided plenty of information and brochures about Rockland, its restaurants and attractions, as well as information about the surrounding communities. The location was an easy walk to Main Street, the harbor, and all the amenities the community offered. It was also a great starting point to visit other sites in the region. We had an excellent stay, didn't want to leave, and we very much look forward to staying there again! Thank you Maureen for your generous hospitality!!!

Cute House

Interesting older Maine property owned by interesting writer Maureen. The two levels make it feel larger and more house-like. Also has a number of separate rooms - living, dining, kitchen, porch as well as the bedrooms. There was a nice touch with multiple gourmet treats waiting for me on the counter when I arrived. Thank you. Look forward to next time.
