Enjoy your next vacation in the picturesque Olympic National Forest -- one of the most beautiful regions of the United States. This has been our family lake place for the past 40 years and is full of many fond memories from the first day we started construction in 1970. Now we want to extend the beauty and magic of our cherished place to you!

The location is perfect for the active nature lover or the quiet relaxer alike. The lake provides for all manner of water sports including boating, canoeing, water skiing, swimming and more. The beautiful Olympic forest provides numerous hiking trails of varying length and intensity for everyone from the hiking enthusiast to the family looking to spend a relaxing day together in nature.

Or if you're looking for a little more peace and quiet, enjoy sitting on the deck beneath the Evergreens while you read a book and watch the wildlife go by.

The cabin comes stocked with a wide selection of books, videos and games. There is also driveway parking for 4-6 vehicles off street, perfect for getting together a few friends. A private community park and boat launch are just a few blocks walking distance and parking passes are included. Boat launch fee is $20 per 3 days.

Wireless Internet access and DishNetwork Satellite TV channels included. Pets are allowed with some restrictions and an additional fee so that you don't have to leave Fido at home.

The Unique Benefits of this House: This is a peaceful, quiet neighborhood with security patrol and plenty of room for a large family.

Why the Owner Chose Lake Cushman: My family built this cabin to be the summer and winter get away for hiking trips and lake activities. Lake Cushman is a favorite vacation destination for many people as well as a full time home for others because of its unmatched beauty nestled in the Olympic mountains.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Yes, thank you for letting us use your lake place. It was nice to have family time, and be in such a beautiful surrounding.

We enjoyed sharing meals at the large kitchen table, and having both the upstairs and down to play games or whatever in two groups.

The house is very well stocked with whatever anyone might need.

We hope to arrange another stay at some future time.

Beautiful location!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in this Lake Cushman cabin! Great location a couple blocks from a nice park with easy access for us to put our tandem kayak in the lake. The cabin had everything we could possibly need and the owner was prompt in his responses! We would recommend to family and friends and will return!

Beautiful, Accommodating, Comfortable, Private

  • 5 of 5

We had never been to Lake Cushman before so we had no idea what to expect. We had thought the property was right on the lake but you do have to walk a block or two to get down to the water and park. The ONLY downside was that you HAVE to have a parking pass for each vehicle that you plan to take down to the water, boat or not. This has nothing to do with the house or owner- its Lake Cushman rules.

Aside from that, our weekend was perfect. In fact, Corlen stepped up and helped us get a last-minute car and boat pass for our friends! He was available for questions and concerns but never got in our hair. He is incredibly easy to work with- chill and helpful.

The property is beautiful. It is very close to the neighboring gazebo, basically sharing the same yard. So I recommend renting both just in case (even though we didn't and got lucky no one else was there). We were accommodating a big party of folks so we were glad to have the extra entertainment space. And the epic view from the gazebo is really what it is all about. My husband and I plan on renting the gazebo/apartment ourselves in the future.

The house is great- could sleep 12 comfortably. Our snoring friends chose to sleep in their tent behind the gazebo instead and they loved it. The 2 propane grills were awesome to have. Kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and any pots/pans/etc you may need to prepare a feast.

We had the best time. It helps a lot when the owner is so wonderful to work with before and after. Thanks Corlen!

Great Large Family Vacation Place

  • 5 of 5

This vacation property is wonderful. There's plenty of room for people, parking, and having a blast! Add the cabana to your rental for an extra bed, bathroom (with shower) and a fridge! The deck over looking the lake was the perfect place for AM coffee and we set up (our own) projector for PM movies. The Family Lake Place is also well stocked- plenty of chairs, BBQs, utensils and plates. We brought our own foil, wrap, etc, but its all there. Loved the porch swings at the cabana! Although it was in the 90's during our stay (awesome!) the space doesn't get too hot because its got just the right amount of shade. The kids discovered a family of deer in the "backyard forest". We wouldn't change a thing and plan on this being an annual event!! Thank you for having us.

Lovely cabin for large families

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time here! Plenty of everything including games and videos for everyone! We loved the loft where the kids had a slumber party and the large table in the kitchen that we could all sit around.

A Wonderful Family Gathering Place

  • 4 of 5

Our stay was a wonderful experience from booking to check out. In fact, we originally booked for last summer, but military obligations compelled a change of plans. Corlen took care of all the details and moved our reservations to this July so we had a whole year to look forward to this vacation. As our departure date approached, he was very responsive to questions we had, and offered to arrange for a boating pass which made that process very convenient.

The home is very clean and welcoming, and had everything we needed just as advertised. The video library was very extensive, there were lots of games for all ages, and plenty of bath as well as beach towels. It was more spacious than the pictures indicate, which was a pleasant surprise in this age of wide-angle lenses that can make things look larger than they are.

There are numerous hiking trailheads to choose from that are just a short drive down the road so we took a couple hour hike with all the kids one morning. The nearby beach park had a playground, basketball court and volley ball court, as well as a covered picnic shelter and dock for the boat. The nearby boat launch was not busy at all on the weekend which was another pleasant surprise. When we ran into a problem with our boat, Corlen was immediately reachable by phone and was very helpful in facilitating a resolution.

The adjoining lot, also owned by Corlen, has an expansive gazebo with tables, chairs and 3 deck swings, as well as a large deck with a sweeping view of the lake that we were able to use since no other guests had reserved it. The only reason we are not giving 5 stars is because the property is not right on the lake - which is hard to find. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family.

Thank you for sharing your lovely lake home with us!

The new IGA grocery store in Hoodsport is about 20 minutes away, and during summer months the Cushman resort has a small convenience store reachable by boat at the south end of the lake. Lake View: There is a limited view of the lake from some parts of the property, and the beach is just a couple blocks away walking distance. Telephone: The phone is restricted to local and emergency calls only, so bring a calling card with you for any long distance. Cell phones do not work in this area. Verizon may find spots of limited coverage. Pet Friendly: Pets must be pre-approved and meet the requirements of the rental agreement. One pet is allowed with standard rates, additional pets will incur $50 fee each per stay. Access to the private community park is included and is a couple blocks walking distance away.
