Why Lois Maraia chose Eaton

I fell in love with the vistas, spent a great deal of time building this home. I love to create and I enjoy the details.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Spent 3 nights at this gorgeous property. It is immaculate and luxurious. The caretaker Kevin is extremely helpful and answers any questions you may have. Since it was March during our stay there wasn't too much to do and there is no Jacuzzi or pool ...however the amazing "movie/game room certainly makes up for that. The best room we've ever seen. The builder did it right! Shopping at North Conway is only a 10-15 drive away. Would love to go there during summer months.....Thank you Grand Home!!!!

A roaring fire with the Grands and Family inside..Arctic Chill outside ! Great Time had be ALL

  • 5 of 5

We most thoroughly enjoyed our stay Dec26th-Jan1st this year and want to play it again plus one day (to avoid the impossible traffic) on the 1st. We found the home to be extremely comfortable in the Arctic Chill that was this past visit. The Great Room, Kitchen and multiple eating and Dining Room set up was well appointed with necessary serving, cooking and warm throws and assorted entertaining paraphernalia. The Game Room was a HUGE hit as we had two sets of twins ages 12-14 next year 13-15. The scenic location vista and sunrise was tremendous, Sadly the driveway due to ice/snow etc. was a curse xxxx our rental car lived at the bottom of the hill where my FedEx and UPS delivery’s were left as the delivery vans couldn’t make it up either. If I might suggest battery operated clocks would be terrific in the bedrooms, the Master has one already. And Kevin was an absolute delight, very knowledgeable and accommodating. He’d stop at our rental and deliver our packages as well as assist in moving our goods in and out of the GWMH. He was always making sure things were AOK! Looking forward to bringing in 2019 at Grand White House Mountain Home

next year we’ll be driving a Big Mean 4 wheel vehicle 😉

Marvelous Mountain Home

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a fantastic family reunion held at the house, and we can truly say its one of the few times where the website and the reviews were all spot on and accurate. It's a terrific house with beautiful views and fully furnished with inviting and comfortable furniture and multiple recreational games. The kitchen is very well stocked, and one of the best features is Kevin the handy man, who not only helped us familiarize ourselves with the house, but was fully available to answer all questions and address any kinks in our stay. Although the house is accessible with a conventional car, a 4 wheel drive vehicle is preferable due to a hard-packed dirt road leading to the house. It's a super place and you will love every day of your stay!

Amazing House, Amazing Views

  • 5 of 5

The house is very impressive on its own. It is well maintained & clean! The game room was great with something for everyone. But adding in the views really made it incredible! It was like being on a private mountain, with all the conveniences of North Conway just 20 minutes away.

Kevin the Caretaker is awesome! He called me the day of our arrival with land marks and better directions than the GPS had. He met us at the house, gave us the full tour and showed us what needed to be done.

Everyone had a great trip and it will be remembered for a long time!

Amazing house...amazing time!

  • 5 of 5

A few of my college friends and I do a  mini "reunion" with our families every 2 years and this year we stayed at the Grand White Mountain House...we couldn't have been happier!  The house is absolutely amazing...the grand living room with wood burning fireplace, the  enormous game room, the master bed/bath, the huge deck overlooking the mountains, the grounds...everything was perfect.

An added bonus was that the house came fully stocked with everything we needed.  All we needed to do was bring our personal belongings and food/drink...everything else was covered.

Lois, the owner was extremely helpful and very responsive.  She answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed.  Kevin, the caretaker was also great!  He was extremely friendly, answered all our questions and tended to our every need.  He made it that much more enjoyable to stay at this wonderful property.

We look forward to spending more time at the Grand White Mountain home and can't wait to return!

Amazing property. Secluded, beautiful, full of amenities, peaceful.

  • 4 of 5

This house was huge and perfect for my 12-person wedding party (including my husband and me). The main fireplace is absolutely gorgeous. The view is just breathtaking. Coffee on the big porch in the mornings was heaven. It had every kitchen appliance you could need. The game room was amazing, though there were only 6 theater chairs and with a group of 12 that wasn't ideal. Each of the 5 couples (plus 2 kids) had ample privacy in their own nook of the house so we weren't stepping over everyone all the time. The kitchen table with the leaves pulled out sat us all so we could have large family meals. This house made our wedding week very special. It truly was the perfect place for us, and a hidden gem in Eaton.

I gave this house 4 stars bc there were some drawbacks that aren't necessarily addressed in the description: 1) The driveway is very steep. A couple cars got stuck climbing the gravel driveway and required lots of maneuvering to get them out. I can't even imagine going up the driveway in snow/ice without a powerful AWD vehicle, so be aware. 2) The owners have lots of stuff in this house. I've stayed in other vacation rentals before, and this is the first one where I felt I was almost intruding on the owners' privacy because of everything that was here. For instance, there is a very full liquor cabinet which we couldn't touch, and the master bedroom closet is over half full of their clothes and other things packed in (granted, there was a sheet hanging up to separate the full back of the closet with the empty front of the closet, but it was still odd). The bathroom closet also had lots of toiletries in it, so much so that I was confused if I could use them or not (other houses have the necessities stocked explicitly for guests). 3) The yard has lots of ticks. Granted, this is New Hampshire and ticks are a thing, but it made the yard unusable. We took some pictures in the yard after the ceremony (because it's quite beautiful, without knowing about the tick problem), and after 30 minutes in the grass, 2 large ticks had crawled up my wedding dress. And 4) This place is impossible to find at night. GPS doesn't really get you there anyway. And there are no street lights on the main dirt road. One of the couples had to arrive at night, and we wound up having to go out and find them because they weren't able to find the place in the dark.

Overall, though, we really did have a tremendous time here, and I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else
