I am a practicing attorney and active outdoor person, avid hiker and skier who fell in love with these unique salmon colored cliffs, mountain views, the peace and solitude of this singular location and personally designed and built this chalet as a year round escape.
From this base I am able to enjoy the outdoors all year long. In summer, hiking, kayaking, fishing, archery, all terrain vehicle exploration, equestrian rides and mountain biking. Nearby Panguitch hosts a summer hot air balloon festival, the rodeo at Bryce and the internationally known Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar are attractions that always bring me joy.
In winter I can snow show in the meadows surrounding the cabin, cross country ski at the Nordic trails at Bryce Canyon, snow mobile on the Duck Creek ATV trails or downhill ski at Bryan Head Resort.
What I appreciate more than anything is the absolute quiet that is so intense that the sound of hummingbird wings sounds loud and the amazing star gazing.
I love it so much here year round, that I would never leave if I didn't have to eventually.
Marilyn Fine purchased this chalet in 2006
The property speaks for itself. I designed it to be Shangra La. To me, building it was creating art; a true labor of love. It has all my favorite things and is large enough to accommodate all the people I love for holidays and reunions. When I am here, I am continuously reminded that I am truly blessed.
The major benefits are location, natural scenic beauty and proximity to three of this country's most spectacular national parks. Equidistant to both Las Vegas and Salt Lake city I can be joined by my friends and family in both cities so we can share the beautiful lakes, rivers, waterfalls mountain vistas and ski resorts.
The Colorado Plateau on which it is located was the home of the ancient Anasazi who left traces of their history in petroglyphs, pictographs, tivas and ruins, currently being excavated and displayed at the Anasazi Heritage museum.
The description does not do justice to this incredible structure with a excellent layout of bedrooms making each one of them private. The kitchen is truly commercial with excellent amenities allowing community cooking. Local groceries were sufficient. The location is great for sightseeing to Bryce Canyon, Brian's Head and Zion's National Park along with several others! The owners were most gracious and met us on arrival to demonstrate the amenities. Home theater, sauna, steam room, hot tub, and panoramic deck along with BBQ and smoker are just a few of the perks! The serenity will certainly draw us back for more visits.
Absolutely beautiful home! Our family of 4 spent 5 amazing nights here and kept very busy with all the amenities (hot tub, steam shower, movie room, ping pong table and more). We ended every night in the hot tub, looking at the most spectacular stars! The kitchen was a dream and we had so much fun cooking in it, we stopped at the general store in Panguitch and stocked up on the local meat (VERY good quality). We also took full advantage of the home's perfect location, that was a very close drive to Bryce Canyon, Zion and Brian Head. This is a definite must for anyone that wants to experience southern Utah and stay in an incredible place! We will definitely be back again.
We spent 5 days in this beautiful house. It was so convenient for exploring Bryce, Cedar Breaks and Brian Head. After busy days adventuring we came back to peace and quiet and luxury. The kitchen was a joy to cook in and we enjoyed relaxing inside and out. The kids had a terrific time watching movies in the home theatre. The hosts were easy to work with and provided great recommendations for excursions. What a treat!
Amazing place! Beautiful views and every convenience you would want. Such a fabulous getaway. Done with the finest touch.
This is a fabulous "cabin". I loved the views out every window. It is beautiful and cozy inside. Can't wait to bring my entire family back to this lovely retreat!
I have had the opportunity of staying here many times. It truly is a magical, restful, idyllic escape. The chalet is exquisite and so peaceful. The owner is wonderful and always available if you need anything. It is clean and very well maintained. The sauna and steamroom are a definite plus, but the theater room is fantastic, especially on rainy or snowy days. The pictures on the website are a very good depiction of this beautiful place, but you need to see it to believe it.
Situated on the trout stocked Seivere River, abutting Dixie National Forest between iconic Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks; this chalet is perfectly configured for executive offsite conferences or family reunions.
The location is less than one hour's scenic drive from Brian Head Ski resort, Red Canyon Trails, Navajo Lake, Crystal Falls, Panguitch Lake, Kodachrome Basin State Park, Canyon Reef National Park, the Grand Staircase Escalade and ancient Anasazi Petroglyphs of the Calf Creek Waterfall Trail.
In addition to hiking, local activities include rodeo, fly & cast fishing , zip lining through spectacular canyons; helicopter site seeing over national parks, golf, all terrain vehicle and equestrian excursions. In winter, down hill & cross country skiing, snowshoeing & snowmobiling through pristine forests and ice fishing.
Equipped with large hot tub, finish sauna, steam room and a stadium style theater with an extensive DVD library, this retreat is a perfect year-round even in inclement weather.
