Convenient Location, Safe Area

  • 5 of 5

First time to D.C. and I was looking for lodging close to the Convention Center. This location was a quick 5 minute walk to our meetings. Slightly longer walk down to the monuments but not bad and Uber was always readily available if we didn't want to walk. The unit was nice. The layout is different but the description adequately explains that so there were no surprises. The bedroom in the front is a little difficult to get around to the other side of the bed as the bed takes up all but maybe two inches of the width of the room. I managed. I would suggest only two things. One is coffee filters would be a great addition to the kitchen. And some instructions on the washer/dryer combo would have been very helpful. Does it really take 5 hours to do one load of laundry? We struggled with figuring out that machine! We always felt safe and there is a mini market and two restaurants very close by. I recommend this lodging.

Good for small families, Great location

  • 4 of 5

Lately when we travel as a family, I like to feel like we are among the locals instead of just staying in another hotel room or resort condo with other tourists. This downtown apartment is perfect for that. I was in DC for the week of spring break with my wife and two daughters for the cherry blossoms, museums and monuments. The location of this apartment allowed us to park the car and not have to worry about driving for the week. We walked most places and travelled via the Metro to others. The owner of the unit was also gracious enough to suggest some activities and places to eat during our stay. Pros: Location, full kitchen, Amazon TV, wi-fi, property owner accessible, unit is dark if you enjoy that like I do for sleeping late on vacation, security with two code locked doors to get into the unit.

Cons: The carpet in the pictures is not the carpet that was in the unit which appeared to be worn and VERY loose (I tripped over one of the seams). There is a single bathroom all the way in the back of the unit, which was fine for our family (that’s what a hotel room would have) but if you are staying with people who are not family members this could be an issue. The toilet paper dispenser needed to be replaced, and I would suggest adding some towel hooks in the bathroom. The bedrooms have curtains in place of doors. The back bedroom has a memory foam mattress which I found to be extremely uncomfortable, but that is a matter of opinion. If there are neighbors in the unit above (which there were) you are going to know it. This was fine most of the time as we really did not spend but just sleeping hours in the unit.

Overall we liked the modern décor of the unit and the location. We had a great time on our vacation and would strongly consider renting this property again.

Convenient location, attentive property manager

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was in a convenient location and was clean with good ammenities. Positives: clean, full kitchen, Amazon TV, plenty of room for our group of 3, property manager followed up with us to make sure things were good after we arrived. Other: The bathroom is located all the way in the back, so whoever is in the front bedroom has to walk through the back bedroom to use it (we had to coordinate our schedules for use), the toilet paper dispenser needed to be replaced, the bedrooms don't have doors - rather there are curtains instead. Not necessarily a problem, but good to know. Overall we felt the property was a little quirky, but it was still a nice place and in a convenient location.
