Offering 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, this private mountain chalet can comfortably accommodate up to 19 guests, making it a wonderful lodging choice for any travel party, from families coming together for a reunion to couples in search of a romantic mountain retreat. 'LimberLost' was built by civil engineer John Brock back in 1972, when he purchased the entire mountain and kept the most beautiful ridge for his retirement home. It even belonged to Miss New York at one point in time! As soon as you first arrive, you’ll head straight for the expansive private patio - a perfect space for outdoor entertaining - to admire the breathtaking Smoky Mountain views. The patio also features a brand new solar heated private swimming pool that you and your companions can utilize in the summer months (weather permitting) as well as a private hot tub, from which you can observe dazzling sunrises and sunsets behind the mountains.
You'll find the home's gorgeous 3-level interior equally as impressive, boasting natural oak ceilings and southern views of the mountains through massive wall-to-wall windows, which stretch upwards to cover 2 levels of the home, eventually reaching a prow-shaped point. Spend leisurely afternoons warming up by the wood burning fireplace in the sunken living room, or head upstairs to utilize the majestic stone fireplace on the upper level. Everything you need to be as comfortable as possible during your stay is here, including free wireless internet access, in-unit laundry machines, and 2 TVs with cable and DVD players for your entertainment needs. Plus, the kids will love spending countless hours in the game room, where they can play exciting rounds of pool or foosball!
Prepare delicious home-cooked meals in your choice of 2 fully equipped kitchens - one upstairs and one downstairs, both featuring modern culinary appliances. After whipping up some tasty food in the kitchen, gather around one of the lovely adjacent wood dining tables to enjoy your culinary masterpiece. The upstairs dining table is enormous, featuring seating for up to 8 guests. Additional seating room can be found at the kitchen counter or the quaint kids’ table in the living room. Before bed, take a soothing soak in the hot tub or go for a swim in the heated pool while breathing in the cool, mountainous night air.
Situated atop a mountain-facing peak only a few short miles from Gatlinburg, perhaps the best feature of this property is its idyllic location! 'LimberLost' offers tranquil privacy yet still provides easy access to not only Gatlinburg, but Pigeon Forge’s famed Dollywood theme park as well, conveniently situated within just 2 miles of the home! Between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, you'll find plenty of safe places located just off the parkway to enjoy the flowing river. The outside is as advertised. Pool is great with phenomenal biew. Inside is dated. Big sewer issues resulting in relication of some family members. Owner did refund one day as requested which was quite refreshing. We had called the plumber out once when we noticed a small leak. Unfortunately he could not replicate the problem and did mothing. Two days later we had a catastrophic sewer backipz and flood.
We had our annual family vacation at Limberlost and we all enjoyed it very much! It got off to a shaky start due to a changing of the property manager "guards", but the new managers were excellent and attentive. A few things missing: pot holders, sharp knives, metal or plastic mixing bowls, drying rack for hand washed dishes. We loved our time there and hope to go back!
ok here we go, the grass hasn't been cut in some time, the weeds are terrible, the outside railing is cable tied in spots and the cement corners are broke off and there are 2 spots the railing is just hanging. They left no instructions for the pool or hot tub along with chemicals, 19 people in the pool and hot tub for a week and no chemicals not good !!!!
Now for the inside, there were holes in the walls, the carpeting was disgusting, the lower level bedroom had mold on the walls, the ceiling fans had at least a inch of dust on them, the kitchen table was so sticky ( Finnish is coming off), the chandelier above said table had a disgusting collection of bugs in the lights !!!!! Then there was the patio door to which the door knob was broke. They left no instructions for the garbage, or if we needed to bring garbage bags.
I am truly sorry but if your paying people to clean and fix stuff its not getting done. This home can be magnificent with the views, the locations, etc. needs some TLC !!!!
My opinion is this home is only used to make money, because there is no money being put into it !!!
View spectacular from the pool deck! Pool was great and used throughout the day and into evening hours. Lots of privacy. No neighbors to be seen or heard so no need to worry about noise. Out of the hustle and bustle of the town of Gatlinburg but close enough (about 10 minutes) to make it in for easy day trips.
House needs some updating but was clean (except for stairs carpeting) with adequate size rooms and bathrooms. Kitchen pretty well stocked with plenty of dishes and silverware. Lacking a bit on casserole dishes and storage containers. Huge dining room table fit 13. Delighted to see kids size table and chairs which grandkids used a lot. Nice highchair. We had a great vacation!
We booked this location about 1 year in advance as we planned a much needed family vacation with all our children and grandchildren and it turned out to be perfect. Each family had their own bedroom and bathroom and ample space to spread out but able to gather for meals. We had an infant and the High Chair was an added bonus. Counter space in the kitchen was challenging cooking meals for 13 since the microwave over the stove was not working and another was taking up space on the counter. The brochure indicated that there was a gas grill - but we did not find one on the property - but made do with a very large charcoal grill instead. There was a firepit onsite and we purchased firewood at the local grocery store and the grandkids roasted marshmallows and made s'mores one evening and that was a big hit. By far, the pool was the best feature and kept everyone, especially the grandkids, entertained throughout the entire week. We were also very please by the large trash cans to accommodate the trash that a group our size can go through in one week.
We were concerned that the upstairs rail was still loose and noted that another visitor had mentioned this - but still in need of some tightening - but we were very careful to keep children away from it.
Overall, we were most pleased with this location and found the drive at night to be challenging but the views spectacular. I would rate it a 4.5
The view was fantastic! The pool was great fun for the whole family! The house itself is not quite as good as the photos lead you to believe but it was still adequate for our 4 couples and handful of kids. We had trouble with the door locks and didn't always get a response from the contact we were given. An umbrella by the pool would have made the pool even better as it was very hot when we were there in July. The area itself is very pretty and we spent a lot of time in the National Park but be prepared for crowds of people in town and in the park. We did have one bear sighting in the yard which was very exciting. If you want a quiet place to relax with a pool...this is a great place!
