I have been staying in different places in the Benezette area for 15 years and this is a landslide winner! Cabin was so beautiful and so nicely furnished and very comfortable. I always thought nothing could beat Elk Terrace Lodge or the Castle but I was proven wrong on this trip. We had crazy elk activity from the night we arrived until the morning we left. Started with one big bull and a few cows and ended with three bulls and 15 cows and calves in our immediate area. One night the heard bedded down in the side yard. Last morning a bull and cow came through the front lawn - saying goodbye! Cabin had a very nicely stocked kitchen. Only thing you might need to bring is a crock pot. Can't wait to go back!
This was our third year in Benezette and we finally found our annual vacation spot! This cabin was more than perfect! It is a perfect location, literally minutes from all viewing areas and the visitors center! Both nights we had elk in our front yard bugling! We couldn't have asked for more! We will be back year after year!
What a wonderful experience. The Cabin was the perfect place for our mini vacation with our family! The entire place was beautiful, very clean and nicely kept and the perfect fit for us. Right in the heart of Elk Country. My husband's family is from PA closer to Pittsburgh and some had never ventured to Benezette. My husband and I wanted a family experience which the Elk Stone Lodge afforded, a hotel would not bring the quaintness and bonding opportunities we experienced. We played games around the fireplace, made smore's in the evening around the fire pit and had breakfast together in our pajamas. Just bring yourselves, food to cook and good wine, the rest is provided by the Elk Stone Lodge. Lot's of Elk viewing opportunities. Highly recommend this property!
My friends and I rented ElkLodge over the Memorial Day weekend. The location is ideal...peaceful, tranquil and very close to the elk viewing areas. The cabin itself is beautiful and well stocked. We made great use of the outside fire pit, the grill, the picnic table, etc. Our only issue was a problem with the air conditioning. The owner made sure we had fans available. We are already talking about going back for a longer visit!
We spent 2 nights here with 4 adults and 2 kids, it was the perfect size. We had a great evening by the fire making smores and spending time together. We did see a few elk in the neighbor's yard in the early morning. The cabin was spotless and had everything you need for a comfortable stay: all linens and towels, extra blankets, extra chairs, stocked kitchen, gas grill, fire ring. Don't forget your camp chairs for around the fire. We also brought books, games and puzzles, which came in handy because we has heavy rain a day of our stay and hung out at the cabin. The owners made us feel very welcome in their cabin and there was great communication from Tim. They also left us a $5 gift certificate to a local cafe. We happened to be there on the café's opening weekend (for summer season), so the kids enjoyed getting some ice cream. Overall, this is a beautiful comfortable cabin and I highly recommend.
