About this property

Renovated Cabin Overlooking Waterfall and Pond

Cabin renovations completed in June, 2020. Many improvements are not yet captured in listing photographs. Fresh indoor and outdoor paint, new bathroom, new mattresses, fine linens, updated fixtures and other improvements await. Oak flooring throughout. Rest assured, great care is taken to disinfect the cabin prior to your arrival. Owners and affiliates are informed on and abide by VRBO COVID cleaning practices . This property is expertly managed with a decade of five star reviews.

This beautifully appointed cabin offers 50 acres of comfort and serenity tucked into a nook in the hills of Barnard VT. Vast land abuts the acclaimed property of Twin Farms. The wood stove, gas fireplace, spiral staircase, loft and cathedral ceiling contribute to this tranquil environment. Relax to the sound of the bubbling waterfall and creek just outside the front door. A large porch offers views of the pond, fire pit, waterfall, wildlife and mountains beyond.

Enjoy restful privacy while having easy access to conveniences. Step outside for direct access to hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Our location is minutes from Suicide Six and half an hour from Killington. Both mountains offer activities year round. The vast property offers the best of both worlds with proximity to shops and excellent restaurants. Silver Lake, The Barnard Country Store, The Barnard Inn/Max’s Tavern, Suicide Six and the town of Woodstock are a few minutes away. Hanover, Vermont Law School and Dartmouth are easy commutes for business and student travel.

**PLEASE BE ADVISED: We regret that young children and persons with limited mobility may have difficulty navigating the footbridge, hillside steps, spiral staircase and loft.

Beautiful setting
Even though it rained our entire stay, we thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness. The view from the deck overlooking the falls and creek to the pond and the rest of the property was amazing. Everything inside was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing
Very relaxing. Glad for the WI-FI as there is no signal. I think this would be a great place to visit in the summer as well.

Beautiful view, peaceful, great location.
We were looking for a rental in Barnard and this was a perfect location. The home is situated on a hill overlooking a pond. The loft for sleeping doesn’t have much headroom, but I enjoyed waking up and feeling like I was a treehouse. Loved the hammock, spacious kitchen, and radiant flooring in the bathroom. We hope to return again!

Cozy Cabin Stay
We had a great stay at this cozy cabin. Situated overlooking a scenic private pond, the charming cabin is in a perfect location to explore the beautiful Vermont area. It’s in close proximity to the picturesque Woodstock and Silver Lake in Barnard. Possibly due to the water tanks at the property, the water had a not so great smell so would recommend buying your own water for drinking.

We are avid travelers, often using VRBO for our own travel bookings, most recently to Eleuthera. As a result we understand the booking process from all angles.
Skiing, snowshoeing and hiking are some of our favorite family activities in VT. We hope you enjoy them too. This is such a special place to us, we even got engaged here.

Why they chose this property

My husband grew up in Woodstock where we visited often while living in Boston. The serenity resonated with me and he easily convinced me to invest in the cabin. His parents live at the property next door and are the caretakers of the cabin, ensuring all your needs are met.

What makes this property unique

Our cabin is private, yet within a 15 minute drive to the town of Woodstock, Quechee, Mt. Tom and Suicide Six.
There are plenty of activities to do right outside the cabin. You are welcome to use our snowshoes, canoe and chairs/floats etc. to swim in the pond. We are a short and beautiful walk away from Lime Pond.
There are numerous wonderful restaurants and seasonal activities to enjoy. We are happy to suggest different dining options to you. They range from upscale to casual family pizza restaurants. Some
activities include the summer concert series at Suicide Six, The Chili Cookoff, The Covered Bridge 1/2 Marathon, Visiting the Mt. Tom Farmers Market, Billings Farm, The Woodstock Farmers Market.....
