Photos and Description of this Springfield holiday house

2 Bedrooms plus loft, Sleeps 7 , Child And Pet Friendly

Drive up the country road, over the roaring gorge of the Williams River, past farms and hillsides. Turn onto the long driveway, pass the sparkling pond. The air is fresh, the view is beautiful, and the house is comfortable. You have arrived.

Let the kids run off their energy in the huge, mowed lawn, while you read that novel in the hammock or go fishing in the pond. Take a nice nature hike, cool off in the pond, throw dinner on the grill, then build a campfire, roast some marshmallows, look up at the stars.

No kids? Grab a bottle of wine and some nice aged Vermont cheddar, sit in the Adirondack chairs, watch while hummingbirds come to the gardens and wait for deer to emerge from the forest. Cook a romantic meal in the well equipped kitchen, then snuggle up to a fire in the stone fireplace.

Inside, with classic and antique furnishings, you'll feel right at home surrounded by the stone and wood elements, while the art stimulates your mind and spirit.

This house is all that it should be inside, and more than you can imagine outside, with nature and opportunity abundant.

The Vermont Country Lodge: Our new favorite place

5 of 5

We booked the Vermont Country Lodge for a weekend getaway. Our goal was to spend a weekend in Vermont with a fireplace and a quiet place to write. What we arrive to was so much more than I imagined. It was dark when we arrived, maybe not the best way to get there, as the road in is narrow and bumpy, but it made for a wonderful next day.

From the massive stone step at the back door, to the gorgeous stone work on the fireplace and rough-hewn wide plank floors, I was so happy not to be in a cookie cutter hotel. The walls were adorned with pieces of art, many painted by the owner, as well as unexpected touches—a fishing pole, a didgeridoo, a dream catcher. We have rented other private residences and felt as if it wasn't ours or worse, wasn't very clean, this was so different. We both felt privileged to have this special place entrusted to us.

The post and beam elements and the way the cabin sits on the land communicate a sense of this place having been here for many, many years. Sitting on the front porch, swinging in the hammock and simply walking the grounds was the perfect way to unplug (that being said, the wi-fi worked like a charm). The wind moves through the leaves creating the most pleasant and calming swishing sound.

The bedding was incredible, with flannel sheets and weighty duvets. The eclectic furnishings made me exclaim in delight on more than one occasion. I simply cannot say enough good things about this place.

If your hope is to experience Vermont in a comfortable and memorable way, you cannot go wrong with this location.

Quiet and expansive

Thank you for the opportunity to rent your lovely home in VT. We had an awesome and relaxing time. It's hard and expensive to travel with four kids of all different ages (18, 17, 13 and 16 mths), so your home and amenities was exactly what we needed. Enough space for each of us to have our own space, internet for the teenagers, play some badminton, relax on the porch and allow the baby to wander around the yard without the fear of him going into the street. Even though the only thing we caught in the pond was a turtle we still had fun trying. It was perfect.

There are a TON of toys in the ottoman. We didn't notice them until the morning that we were leaving. I never thought to open it, I only opened when we were leaving to make sure the kids didn't put something inside and behold all the toys!

Beautiful and relaxing!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend after our wedding! It was beautiful and relaxing, just what we were looking for! We enjoyed waking up and enjoying coffee on the back porch looking at the pond! We brought our two dogs with us, and it was hard to tell who enjoyed the house and land more, them or us! We hope to go and stay there again!

Very peaceful location

  • 4 of 5

This is a comfortable cabin in a lovely location with loads of open space around it to roam in. My husband and I stayed for a week with our daughter and fiance during very hot weather and had a great time. We enjoyed sitting on the deck looking at the view and campfires in the evening. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge is comfortable. The fish in the lake are too small to catch but we enjoyed trying! Our small dog had a great time also.

Private, Peaceful, Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented the home for a mini honeymoon. From the beginning of the process through check out Mike was great about quick responses to all of our questions. We arrived after hosting immediate family and friends for our wedding ceremony and a long weekend. As soon as we pulled up the driveway and caught a view of this home we knew we had made the right decision! The home was very clean and inviting, and we couldn't help but instantly relax. It really felt like a home away from home. The indoor space was just as beautiful as the outdoor space. We did spend a lot of time outdoors, which was hard not to with the well maintained huge tree lined private yard, comfortable outdoor furniture, hammock, and fire pit. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook. We also enjoyed grilling and eating at the picnic table. We cannot express in words how much we enjoyed our stay and are planning on returning every year.

Beautiful Property!

  • 5 of 5

Serine lake house, clear directions from owner for arrival/departure. The driveway is a little confusing regarding which to choose when you first arrive, however there was nothing I would have changed about this property/trip. Great communication with owners, very friendly and open to any questions.

Fantastic stay in VT!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in Mike and Brandi's home. Weather was hot, but the home had many fans to draw in the cool evening air for comfortable sleeping. The property is secluded and a great get-away. We enjoyed using the BBQ and fire pit every night while our dog roamed the massive property. We enjoyed great hiking in the area and hit the artisans up 91. We enjoyed feeding the turtles in the pond after dinner each night! The house and property were perfect and communication with the owners was a pleasure. Hope to visit again!

Beautiful and private home by the pond. Perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, my pup, and I had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful home by the pond! The home is located at the end of a private drive, and is extremely quiet and secluded. The living space is cozy and comfortable, the kitchen is fully stocked, BBQ works great, WIFI signal is strong (no cell service), and due to an unusually cold day in July we were able to enjoy the fireplace. The grounds are gorgeous, and our pup especially enjoyed having so much space to run around. I especially enjoyed sitting on the back porch overlooking the pond in the morning and in the late evenings. Communication with Mike was great, and he quickly responded to any questions that I had. Would definitely rent this home again!
