The apartment worked very well for the three adults and two children. The location was perfect for running and watching the Philadelphia marathon. The apartment had a few issues, which the management needs to take care of.
Loved the place from the moment I walked into the building. Modern, clean, convenient, relaxing, great neighborhood - access to everything within walking distance. Felt just like I was living there. I was there for a convention and decided to forgo the hotel. Great decision and great choice. I highly recommend this place and Stay Alfred. The pillows on the bed could have been more comfortable. a bit hard. The bed was super comfy though. Great view and quiet neighborhood.
The property was fine, but the parking garage was a shock to me two blocks away and no parking place to unload without being in the. Traffic with the chance of getting hit by a car.
We had two families traveling to Philly for a wedding and coming from California we wanted to stay in town a bit and do some sight seeing. We searched hotels and couldn't find anything we liked without spending a small fortune. Then we found the AQ Rittenhouse on VRBO and it was a dream. We had 4 adults and 4 kids, ages 10 months to 6 years old stay there and it was the perfect size. We stayed in the unit for a week. The 2 bathrooms was an enormous plus for two families staying there. Finding a place with a kitchen was a huge plus for us, as we didn't have to go out and spend money eating out everyday. Only bad thing I can say about the kitchen is that the oven and range is electric. Im spoiled with my gas range and oven at home and hate cooking electric, but it is a nicer electric model and made great meals that I only slightly burnt. We didn't use the roof deck, as the unit is part of an apartment building so it is shared with all the other residents living there and we didn't want our kids running a muck up there. However I did stroll up there my self and it was very nice. Clean lounge chairs and a nice bbq. The unit is located on the west side of city center, so its a little far from all the historic sites, but you can easily catch buses and trains to get there. Or do as we did and walk, it's a bit of a walk. Having young kids is a bit of a hassle in the bustling city of philly. Getting kids and strollers on and off buses and trains is not an easy task. So we walked to all the sites. Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Rocky steps, Penn's landing, Elfreth's alley. We walked them all. So if we walked the whole city with a bunch of kids, you sure can too. One place that is about a block away from the AQ Rittenhouse is the Mutter Museum. I highly suggest you check it out. Especially if you like medical oddities. All in all it was a great stay. If you are without kids, there is a good number of pubs, bars, taverns all along the street to enjoy. The food there is amazing. Primo Hoagies just a few doors down is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Go to Cleavers for an amazing Cheesesteak. Mix Brick Oven pizza was great and Caffeination had a great Mocha latte. Only negative is we arrived in Philly at 11:00 am and couldn't get in the room until 3:00. Since it is not a hotel we couldn't check our luggage. So we had to lug a weeks worth of luggage for two families around town for 4 hours until we could get into the room. So just be aware of that.
