Hiya I'm an Australian girl who had been coming to South Africa since 1994 for many, many trips. Finally decided that I might like to spend some more time here. I figured a year maybe. But that was more almost 8 yrs ago :) When in CT, I like to take advantage of the awesome food and wine, and the outdoorsy lifestyle which is so like my hometown (Sydney). The beaches are beautiful (but the water is way too cold for me), and there are some stunning drives nearby. Other than that, I love to grab my tent and pop off and explore Southern Africa. (Namibia is gorgeous, Kgalagadi is my favourite area and Zambia is on the bucket list) I love it when people come to South Africa and Cape Town (especially for the 1st time) and are 'converted'. They're a little dubious before their trip... but then they always get slammed by the "Africa bug" and are hooked.

Why Jenny Andersen chose De Waterkant
I purposely chose De Waterkant (and especially The Rockwell) as it has such an awesome location. As a foreign girl on my own, I was a little anxious at first. But there are so many great cafes, shops, restaurants, bars etc within a safe walking distance - that this was perfect. And the Spar (supermarket) across the road is fantastic. I've had an apartment in this building since 2009, but bought this one (and 1 other) in 2013. I didn't even consider anywhere else! I had a great time doing them up, playing with the décor and getting them right for my guests... with things that I would like in my home.
What makes this Apartment unique
Promise the apartments are really great. And you just can't beat the location. I use a property management company who are extremely professional. So even if I'm not in town, you'll have someone 'on call' 24/7. I have a little 'scribble doc' with loads of the things that I like to do in and around CT. I usually just send it to friends coming over - but I'll happily share it with you. It's just a mix of touristy and local things that I like to do. It might give you a few ideas of things to do.

Very enjoyable stay!
The owner was a pleasure to deal with and her local property manager was extremely helpful. We loved everything about the apartment including the amenities, the location, the furniture, bathroom and balcony. It was fully equipped as well. The building itself along with its staff were wonderful. One of the best rental experiences we have had to date.
Very good apartment, central to everything.
The apartment was in a good location, easy access the Waterfront and the city. Comfortable and spacious. The view of the mountain was amazing.
Nice place to stay
The apartment is very nice. We stayed for a week and enjoyed our time here. The apartment is within walking distance of many attractions and is across the street from a grocery store. Getting rides through Uber was very convenient to and from the Rockwell. Thank you Jenny for the use of your lovely apartment.
Lovely, well speced and convenient
This is a lovely, clean, well-run apartment with everything you need in a great central location. There are a number of great restaurants in the building and plenty more a short walk away . You cannot go wrong, highly recommended.
Fantastic property, perfect location
I loved every minute of my stay in this property.
It is located centrally to all facilities and an easy walk to shops and attractions.

The apartment is convenient to shopping and restaurants and walkable to the V&A
De Waterkant is one of the trendiest and most exclusive neighborhoods in Cape Town. The apartment enjoys an enviable location in the heart of the city without actually being in the CBD.
From the apartment, you can easily walk to most major attractions of Cape Town. The CBD is just a couple of blocks, The V&A Waterfront (shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and Robben Island) is only minutes away, and there's an excellent supermarket across the road.
The CTICC (Convention Center) is nearby. You can easily walk to the new Cape Town Stadium and Cape Quarter’s lively restaurant and café scene is just one block away.
If you have a car, the apartment has an assigned, underground secure car parking space with lift access into the building. Security is of the highest standard at the Rockwell with 24hr security and a 24hr staffed front desk.
