Telephone Service: Cell phone service is sketchy at best on the ranch and along the entire Colorado River/Highway 128 corridor. There is a land-line phone in the Guest House. Long-distance phone calls must be made with a credit a card.
Internet Service: If state-of-the-art electronic access and equipment is important to you on your vacation, this cabin is not for you. Once again, internet service can be weak and slow due to the fact that the only internet service available on the ranch is via satellite.
TV: Live satellite television is available for your convenience. There are also some old VCR tapes available to watch on the tv. You are also welcome to bring your own computer and movies for entertainment.
Recreational opportunities near the ranch: Arches and Canyonlands national parks and Dead Horse Point State Park are popular places to visit in the Moab area. Recreational activities near the ranch include horse and mule rides from the ranch, hiking at Fisher Towers and Mary Jane Canyon nearby, and river rafting. If you are staying at the ranch and have booked a river trip on the daily section of the Colorado River, you may be able to coordinate transportation from Highway 128 near the boat ramps without having to drive into Moab. Discuss this option with the outfitter you are rafting with.
Pets: If you bring dogs to the ranch you will be charged an additional pet fee. Dogs must be on a leash at all times or under full-control voice command when you are walking on the ranch. Please clean up after your pets and collect and remove droppings from the property. Pets may not be left unattended in the Guest House. You may be billed for any damage that is discovered after your visit. There are a few kennels available for your use.
Children should be carefully monitored at all times. The river and river banks are not safe places to play, and life jackets should be used at all times if you plan to be near the river. Swimming in the river is not advised. The rock formations on the ranch are fun to climb, but guests should use extreme caution and make sure to monitor children at all times. Guests may visit the horse and mule corrals. Again, use caution. People are responsible for their own safety on the ranch and the ranch will not be held liable for any accidents which might occur.
Fishing: If you wish to fish in the river, you must obtain a license from the State of Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The most common fish is catfish, however, there are some protected fish species in the river.
Welcome to the Old West! This studio western cabin is next to the Colorado River! Located up the Colorado River Gorge north east of Moab. On the Guest Ranch with Horseback Riding and amazing views of the Canyon, Fisher Towers, and the Colorado River
Our second stay at the cabin, we just love the location. Secluded yet close enough to Moab and trails.
Yes it is a small cabin but for 2 people it's perfect
We only got to spend a few days at the cabin but next time it will be longer. If you are looking for somewhere to truly get away from it all, this is the place. Fantastic scenery, night sky and the drive to and from Moab is fairly short and extremely beautiful.Next time we will stay longer and ride the horses!
Perfect place to stay; it was peaceful & comfortable the only drawback is that it's a bit out of town and a drive to the national parks.
We are so glad we stumbled across this little peice of heaven on earth. We loved our morning walks and hikes with enchanting views of the Red Rock canyons and nature's mesmerizing art formations running throughout this peaceful therapeutic boundless land. From our front door down to the colorado river, to fisher tower , endless views Thank you for sharing your guest house on the Hauer Ranchwith us where we have no doubt left a little peice of our hearts forever. Next time we will horseback and or mule ride . Thank you again, Pam and Bob Zimmerman
We loved this place because we felt it was our own little corner, but still very close to Moab. Cute house with nice decorations. super clean
The cabin is awesome if you like no real amenities... If you don't mind cooking on a barbecue grill this is the place for you. The views are unbelievable and the ranch grounds are amazing. Super close to some awesome hikes. The only bummer I encountered with the cabin was having to plunge the toilet about 6 times in 3 days. I guess that is what you get with 80 year old plumbing...
