Comfortable but it needs some attention.
It is a nice house, good for ski bums. The interior needs some attentions. The carpets are old and smell. The lighting is very dim. The bed is hard. A heater in only one room. It worked for a weekend and the staff were very nice. But the check in proceedure is cumbersom.

2/10 Terrible

Very unsatisfactory
We had a very poor experience with this cabin. WiFi and cable were not working, and maintenance was unable to resolve the issue. They said the cable company would have to service it. In the master bedroom, the bed was very uncomfortable and gave me back pain. Also in the master bedroom was a very small and noisy space heater, which had to sit on top of a chair, and had to be left on all night just to keep warm. In the kitchen, there were many necessary items that were unavailable or broken. Large mixing bowls were both cracked, and there wasn’t a muffin pan to make muffins for breakfast. There were no roasting pans or large pots to cook dinner later that night. The large frying pan was dented and couldn’t sit flat on the stove, making it very difficult to cook. The smaller frying pans would not have worked for what I was cooking. The smoke alarm was activated while I was warming up the oven, even though I hadn’t put anything in it yet. At that point, I was afraid to use the oven and we ended up having to eat out the whole day. As a result, we chose to check out early and not stay the second night.

10/10 Excellent

Perfect place for the two of us.
Nice clean updated place with a balcony. The bath is small but there is a lot of storage. The description states there are 2 baths but in reality it's only a half bath. The kitchen had everything we needed to fix our meals. Huge fireplace that we didn't use due to the time of year. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back when the rates are not so high (4th of July). Only downside was the parking as it was not really a good place for a truck and even pulling it in at an angle left the front end out in the street.

Good value. Good location. Parking spaces are small.
The house is in a good location in Big Bear and surprisingly spacious for a 1-bedroom. It was reasonably clean except the BBQ hadn't been cleaned out and some of the dishes and silverware had guacamole stuck to them. The neighborhood was quiet. The only real problem was parking. The two off-street parking spaces are not long enough for my vehicle, and so narrow that there isn't enough space to open the door and exit the vehicle when both spaces are occupied. The parking area behind the visitor center (recommended by Vacation Rentals) doesn't accommodate overnight parking, so we wasted a lot of time trying to figure out where to park. It was very stressful. A better description of the parking situation in the rental posting would have been helpful to avoid this situation. I am thankful this house was available on short notice and for an affordable price.
