Why Mark and Sarah Nolan chose New Hampshire

Both of our families have been vacationing on Newfound Lake since the 1950's. We met at Newfound as children, never dreaming that many years later we'd fall in love and, eventually, be married at the church overlooking the same lake where we first met. Our lifelong dream to own a small piece of this beautiful paradise came true in late 2014 when we purchased a cottage here on Newfound Lake. Come see for yourself and fall in love as we did!

Fantastic Lakefront Property

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our experience at Newfound Lake, most especially the cabin we stayed in. It was comfortable, clean, and the price was unbeatable. It allowed us to stay within a reasonable distance of family and friends at Camp Wulamat, but have our own space to relax. The owner provided a great list of menus from local eateries, allowing us to pick from nearby options with little effort. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone.

Nicely furnished, well-kept small cottage.

  • 4 of 5

The overall quality is fine. Having rented the same cottage last year, I can honestly say it has been improved. The Kuerig is a nice addition, and there's an overall brightness that was lacking previously. I also like the key box, a very good method of providing initial access, as well as preventing being inadvertently locked out.

The reason I gave only four stars is that a significant improvement needs to be made to the porch frame. As has been done to #11, apparently some time ago, the horizontal beam above where you step up needs to be cut away to prevent head-banging. The scabs just came off my head this morning! Anyone over about 5'8" is at risk. At about 6' I saw stars!

A great little cottage on a beautiful lake!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I spent a week at The Knoll Inn Too for our honeymoon. It was late July in NH, which means weather that was sunny and in the mid- to high-80s every day. The lack of air conditioning made the cottage a bit stuffy and hot during the day, but thanks to the proximity of the beach right across the street (and Wellington State Park just a ten minute drive up the road) it never became an issue. Despite the heat the beach was never too crowded, and it was great to be able to put on our swim gear and walk across the road to the water. The sunsets turned the sky gorgeous shades of red and pink, and the cottage was wonderfully cool and cozy at night; perfect for sleeping. We brought a couple large fans to help circulate the air during the warmer parts of the day and they worked great.

The property was precisely what I expected: a clean, neat efficiency cottage, best used as a "rest stop" between day trips to the beach and beyond. The amenities provided were more than adequate, especially the propane grill. The small fridge was surprisingly roomy! The bathroom was tiny, and for someone tall like me (almost 6ft) it could be difficult to get dressed & undressed in there without banging your elbows on the ceiling beams. The sleeping/living space was tidy and spacious, especially given the size of the cottage. The bed was a bit hard, as was the sofa/futon, but both were suitable to an efficiency cottage like this one. Netflix and the DVD/BluRay player were both put to good use and were nice little bonuses after a long day of sun, sand, and sightseeing.

Bristol itself is a lovely little town. Even a native NHite like myself can enjoy its New England charm. During your stay I highly recommend Bristol House of Pizza, especially their cheese steak grinder (with mushrooms!). Philadelphia might cry foul, but it's the best I've ever tasted! We had to help the delivery driver find our cottage, so be sure to give them more information than just the address when ordering (especially online). If you'd rather cook, there's a Hannaford supermarket just 10 minutes away on Rte 104, or Shackett's five minutes in the opposite direction.

Just one note: we weren't plagued by spiders (beyond the deck) until the second to last night. To that end, be prepared with a big shoe and someone unafraid to wield it.

I highly recommend The Knoll Inn Too. The owners were very responsive to questions and incredibly helpful. It was a perfect week. I'd stay again!

Fantastic cottage with a great view!

  • 5 of 5

What a great week! The cottage was just what we hoped for with all the amenities we needed! Mark and Sarah have thought of everything from pots and pans to a hair dryer and a Kuerig coffee machine. They also provided a stainless steel gas grill for our use. Mark was very reachable when I had questions and always responded promptly to my emails. I would definitely recommend staying at The Knoll Inn Too! Hoping to return in the fall to see some foliage.

Nice cottage right near the lake.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is charming, clean and nicely decorated. The view of Newfound Lake from the porch is incredible. Having the beach right across the street is a major plus. A new picnic table, large front yard and gas grill all add to the positive experience we had.

We liked it so much that we just made another reservation for the fall.

The cottage was adorable .

We had a great time staying in the cottage. The view from the cottage was incredible, the lake was right in front of you. You had everything you needed from a coffee maker to a blow dryer. There was a folder that had places to eat with the menus for you and places to visit like profile falls. I would highly recommend staying at the cottage.
