Guestbook comments from the manager

We arrived to this beautiful home to find soft music, candles, and wine waiting. The gorgeous scene of winter wonderland was outside every window. Inside the impeccably clean home the fireplace, cozy blankets, and comfortable beds kept us so warm. Josee and her family have not forgotten a thing to make our stay memorable. We have stayed in many VRBO homes from East to West coast but this has to be our favorite. We were close to every activity from shopping in old Quebec, skiing, hiking, snowshoeing and cross country. Then we would return to this little Paradise at the end of the day. We had a beautiful kitchen with everything needed to prepare our meals. Plenty of towels and linens. It was perfect. Because the owners live near by they were always immediately available if needed, but we had no problems to need them for! We texted with them each day though as they were a wealth of knowledge on the area and ready to give us any advice on what to do and see. Thank you Josee and Gyna for helping us make the memory of a lifetime. Sweet-Boulay family,London ont

Picturesque house with river view

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely house in a beautiful setting. Very idyllic and peaceful. The house Itself is well maintained with everything one could need for a stay. It is very much home from home. We met Gyna who was most welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.

We were a family of four staying at the property and there was just enough room for us. The layout up stairs is unusual as the wall adjoining the two bedrooms does not go all the way to the ceiling and this may give some people concerns regarding privacy.

Quebec City is approximately 25 mins away and there is plenty to see and do with many excellent restaurants. Montmorency Falls, Sainte Anne's Canyon and Basilica, Ile d''Orleans, Jacques Cartier National Park, Charlevoix are all within driving distance to the property. There are also several shopping malls quite close...we visited Laurier in Quebec.

We found the Québécois very friendly and helpful and we did not have any issues with language barriers as people were happy to suffer our mediocre French and kindly replied in English !

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great "Get-Away"

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to stay, and just a perfect "Get-Away" to relax. We could not have made a better choice than to stay at the beautiful River House for our Quebec vacation. After a long day of travel the fresh flowers and bottle of wine awaiting our arrival was a touch of class. Getting to downtown, and access to the Isle de Orleans was easy and direct. Thank you Gyna for all of your suggestions to make our trip memorable. Our fire side chats with Josee and Heinz along the river bank was one of the highlights that truly made us fell right at home and a part of the Poulin family. Your attention to details made our stay a great experience, and we hope to return for a longer visit someday.

Thank you for our wonderful stay in the country!

  • 5 of 5

Josée and Gyna offer a beautiful, fully equipped cottage on the lovely Montmorency River. It is a perfect retreat on its own or after a day of visiting in the nearby beautiful Quebec City. Our family was greeted by a spotless abode, lawn games for the children and a bottle of wine for Mum and Dad! Merci Josée et Gyna! We highly recommend this to anyone staying in the area.

Beautiful home in a quiet and peaceful community.

  • 5 of 5

The house was very well maintained, furnished, and decorated. The owners were very helpful both before and during our stay. The house was conveniently located for day trips to Old Quebec, Montmorency Falls, Jacques Cartier National Park, or even Montreal. Perfect also for a relaxing day by the river reading or bird watching. The fire pit was great for relaxing in the evening by the river. Our only regret was that we only stayed for a week. This was our first trip to Quebec. Next time we will stay much longer.

Gorgeous house!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful property has a great interior with well-kept grounds in a quiet enclave. It is well-equipped: enough electrical outlets for your entire family's electronic devices all at once, multiple coffee pots and all the makings for fires inside and out, among many other amenities. The River view is wonderful. The house is close enough to make charming Quebec City an easy day trip, and the Quebecois were very sweet about our inept attempts at French. We completely enjoyed our time here.
