Great location but lacking in Property managemnet

We very much enjoyed the apartment overall and the location was even better than we thought from reviewing on line. However the unit was tired, needed new carpeting a few months ago, was missing an electric outlet cover in one of the bedrooms, the dishwasher door handle was either loose or broken, several cupboards didn't open properly [ or possibly were not properly marked for private use - either way a managment issue ] and there was insufficient towels. We booked for four people and one bathroom had two each of bath towels , small towels and wash cloths, the other bathroom had nothing. We phoned three times before someone came a few hours later with towels and then the staff person complained they had to make the journey to deliver them. The staff on the phone were very good however and helped us check in and out when I could not open their email on my phone.

Great location, comfortable

Perfect for an affordable Seattle weekend for two couples. Nice view and close to Pike St. Market. Nothing fancy, but quite comfortable. On site parking would sure be nice though.

Good enough ...

Location - w/in a 10-15 min walk of the Chihuly Museum, Space Needle, Pikes Market, the pier & water (beautiful sunsets!). 5-10 min walk to nearest coffee & restaurants. In case you're wondering, it was all ofcs/apts in the immediate area so no stores or restaurants downstairs or on the same block. For some, this matters.

Management via phone - very helpful & informative abt a couple of questions we had.

Clean - common areas & apt appeared newer & not rundown.

Lobby - modern features, space to lounge/work, convenient amenities (coffee/tea in the mornings).


Location - a couple blocks right outside the complex (under fwy overpass) were sketchy, i.e., homeless tents. As a womyn, it was a lil' questionable. We were told by a resident of the complex that there's a rehab place next to Art House. I'm personally ok w/ this side of an urban area, but a couple in our group who liked to walk in the mornings & venture on their own were apprehensive.

Traffic noise - We had a unit directly facing the street. Bearable for me, loud for others in our group. I requested the quietest & was told they only had 4 rental units & all pretty much had the same noise level.

Master BA tub - slow to drain. Group used other shower. If we had stayed any longer than 2 nites, we would've asked for service, otherwise, bearable.

A/C - We stayed during the summer w/ temps in the upper 80s. In-room, portable a/c was insufficient to cool the living room or the entire apt. Per management, we had to open a window at least 5-6" & then rig the a/c hose to that opening (hose blew out heater-hot air). The only LR windows started abt 4' off the ground & were about 5' high w/ a vertical opening. You can imagine the outside heat that came in from that huge, window opening. Rm fans were used in each rm. All put together, this was insufficient in cooling the apt, making the few hours of our last & hottest day unbearable.

If it hadn't been for the a/c (or the summer weather) - 4 stars. Another start deducted for the lack of notice re the area (not for the actual location). I'm all abt notice.

Great View,. Great Location. But, Low End Furnishings, and NOISY!

View and location are great. However, the apartment is on a busy street with a lot of commercial traffic on the street. The windows are not insulated and it was incredibly NOISY. I mean loud all the time. Worse, the air conditioner is a floor standing unit . You have to open the window to vent it, which makes it even louder. Amenities and furnishings are low end. Walls are scuffed up. Low end mattresses. Low end showers. I wouldn't stay there nor would I recommend it unless you were out of options. I think StayAlfred manages 5-6 apartments in the place.
