Recently purchased and renovated in 2015, this adorable upstairs vacation rental is ready and excited about the 2015-2016 vacation season! Built in the 1940's the bungalow boasts legendary Folly Charm while offering all the modern amenities our guests need to enjoy their visit. The owner/designer of this space wanted to offer a retreat for her guests to relax, unwind and find their inner peace and serenity. Soothing decor and artistic personal touches create an atmosphere that beckons you to slow down and enjoy a simpler way of life.
Guest are welcomed with two private bedrooms, both furnished with new, comfortable queen beds, 100% cotton sheets and individual cooling units for your personal temperature needs.
Fully Equipped Kitchen provides an inspirational space to whip up a low country meal or a light snack between beach visits. Living Room offers a Flat Screen TV, Comcast Cable and Blu-Ray DVD player for all your viewing/streaming needs. WIFI throughout. Full Bathroom.
Venture out to the enclosed, climate controlled sun porch for a nap, game of cards or just a little R&R. The sun porch offers some additional space as well, to store surfboards or other items you may want left more secure. This vacation rental also has it's own private sundeck, offering a wonderful outdoor space to gather and enjoy.
Just one block back from the beach, the 8th block beach access offers a more private stretch of beach, away from the hustle/bustle of the pier and hotel crowds. Only 3 blocks from public tennis/basketball courts on 5th block East Erie and still walking/biking distance to Center St. where you will be find Folly's finest restaurants, shops and watering holes:)
Please note that this rental is part of a duplex design. This is the upstairs unit and guests enjoy the privacy of the front yard and entrance on East Ashley. The downstairs unit is rented to a quiet long term renter that accesses their rental from the back side of the home(East Cooper) entrance.

The new owner of this home has been blessed with the opportunity to travel and enjoy various parts of the world however she didn't know what she was getting into when she came to the Edge of America. Now her wandering ways are behind her as she has found a space that nourishes her spirit and inspires her soul. Looking forward to making Folly home in the future, she purchased this property in hopes of settling here permanently in the next few years. Until then she hopes to visit as much as possible and is thrilled to be able to offer her little slice of paradise to others, that they too will feel inspired and rejuvenated.
This home is in a great location. The beach access is just a skip away. The unit itself is newly updated though still holds it's rustic charm with antique wood floors, bead board walls and various stain glass windows. It rest high on a dune, so it feels private and slightly removed from the activity below. Great sun porch and outdoor sundeck offers the additional space guests need to find a little "me" time. Great parking out front and if needed we can offer additional parking in the back on the East Cooper side.....say if you are able to bring a boat or have a camper, we have parking for that:)

This Bungalow is in a great location and is a great beach getaway. Only two blocks from the beach and far enough from downtown Folly that you don't have to deal with tourist chaos. The Bungalow is a older unit and has all the characteristic: squeaky floors / doors and little water pressure. My rental was for a month during the winter and with temps of below 40 degrees the heater was never able to get the inside temp above 70, requiring space heaters in the bedrooms and bathroom. The heater is an open gas flame with a screen across the front which would be very dangerous for children under 5. The downstairs neighbors are very nice, but as college students do they got a little loud on Friday and Saturday but would quite down by midnight. Property managers, Dianne and Mike were very nice and easy to work with.
The bungalow was even nicer than I expected from the description and is clean and well maintained. The refrigerator (older model) went out the first night we were there (Fri.) and could not be replaced until we were leaving on Mon. Dianne and Michael were very sympathetic and kind. They brought us a cooler and ice on Sat. and offered us the use of a mini-fridge and a refund for our inconvenience. Other than needing to buy a lot of ice (it was 96 degrees all weekend), we didn't let it affect our stay, and would definitely recommend staying here. I'm sure I will be back!
The bungalow at the beach was nicely decorated and comfortable for our family of 4. We enjoyed the front deck, the closeness to the beach, and the general hominess of the rental and Folly Beach. Great vacation!
My friends and I went to Folly Beach for a girlfriend getaway. I personally had not seen the ocean in 24 years! It was incredible. The beach cottage had everything we needed. The descriptions were very accurate. The beach cottage was very clean!!!We did not ever hear or hardly see the renter downstairs. We only ate out a few times because the cottage provided everything needed for a wonderful beach meals! We went into Folly and enjoyed the pier, Locklears, and SUP paddle boarding excursion. I will be bringing my own family back and if this cottage is available and rent it. The decorating really sets you up for the beach atmosphere! We loved it!!!!!!!!
Couldn't have been happier with this house. Bright, airy and extremely clean. Everything you need. Comfortable beds, cotton sheets and fluffy towels! The deck is a sunny spot to enjoy drinks while you BBQ.You would never know lodgers are in the lower part of the house. We took our two dogs and enjoyed early morning walks on the beautiful beach, you can walk for miles.
10 minute walk to the main street, a favorite restaurant was Rita's, The Lost Dog for breakfast/lunch is excellent. Tip, if its busy season book golf cart or bikes before you go. We hired a golf cart, lots of fun driving all over the town.A drive to Sullivan's Island is a fun place to go for lunch and watch the world go by. Dianne and Michael are very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your house!
